Other than the load times, I think the Saturn version of TSS has to be the better of the three based on the improvements/additions over the original. The graphics weren't all that great to begin with, so not having VGA doesn't discount it by any means.
That's cool, but...here's what I'm getting at.
Okay, for Version A to be far and away better than Version B/C/D/E it needs to be 'the definitive version'.
That's sorta my point, or actually, it's even my question.
Okay, now like I said, the three main points listed for the Saturn version (additional characters, graphical enhancement, slowdown) aren't as important to me as the points for the Dreamcast (VGA, loadtimes, audio) - mostly with the VGA and loadtimes.
So let's just isolate it to two items, we'll say Enhanced Graphics and Loadtimes, right?
We can line up people and ask them which version they'd prefer by those two alone, and you'd get an even split (you certainly won't get an overwhelming majority for either).
I don't think anyone will disagree with that.
You can do it for each individual point and find a reasonable split.
Even if you don't think the graphics of TSS are that great, VGA is really important to me (it's important to a lot of people). You don't try to get RGB because a game has better graphics, you try to get RGB because it helps the graphics of any game.
Now, I'm not saying the individual points of a game are more important than the the whole sum of the parts. BUT, again, to make my point I don't have to.
To validate the point I'm trying to make, I don't have to prove the Dreamcast version, on a whole, is better than the Saturn version.
I just need to prove that at least one major, irrefutable aspect of the game is better on the Dreamcast - which I believe is the case, and I believe it is more than one.
If the DC version is vastly superior (as I feel it to be) in several important aspects to the SAT version - then the SAT version as a whole, can not be vastly superior to the DC version. The SAT version can be better, the SAT version can be preferable, it can be a lot of things. Just not the definitive version. I shouldn't have said "better" in my first post, since it didn't really convey my point. Sorry.
Again to re-iterate, this is all semantics. My point of the first post was to try and guage exactly what the measuring stick was.
