CAG Socom Thread-SONY SHUTTING DOWN SERVERS AUGUST 31 for S1-CA Tue&Sun10pmEST
Thanks...maybe I will try that before I go ranked to get used to it. Feel free to add me if you want some easy kills

Assault Rifle Elite, finally, now to get every other weapon to at least 3rd class.

And to get an mvp on whatever one map and one game i need...

God games last night guys.

I've been thinking that if this upcomming patch is going to include tourneys, and clan laddrs then we need to buckle down and come up with specific stratagys for each map and game type. We usually do pretty good individualy, but when we face a group of guys that have a good root in team work we usually get stomped pretty hard. those last few elimination matches we played last night are a good example.

That sound like a good idea. But it seems most of us tend to venture off on our own. Also it'd be a good idea to come up with names for locations. I must be slow in the head, but I constantly find myself trying to describe a certain location to which I do not know the name off for a good amount of time. It'd be great if those names were short and to the point as well.

I was also thinking of running groups of three. Have two people go offense and the third person cover the rear.

I should also train myself to try and use the proximity chat instead of trying to hog the team chat.

Or we could just pull a Might Ducks and do a flying V.

That is a good idea. This is my contribution:

Kasbah- 3 of us swarm the tunnels, with two of us going all the way through to their spawn and the third going up into the atrium
Second team of three go all the way around to the right, launching nades near the stairs and ladder area. They then move through and meet with the person from squad 1 who went to the Atrium.

The final 2 members of the squad hang back at our base, one on the stairs and the other behind one of the little walls on the right.

This is from the Seal spawn.

your better than me, it took me the longest time to figure out where the fish market was in cross roads, and I still have no idea what you guys mean by the red room.

The red room is the room directly across from the fish market and next to the bell tower, with the detonator switch.

Basically the room the commandos are always chillin in

I always thought the red room was the one that had my blood splattered on the walls.

I do think our team work has been improving. Especially on Fallen and Urban Wasteland since we play those over and over through the quick match. With MisterB covering the right and me the left when either one goes down you know that the other team is moving that direction. The elim games are a different story though.

Sorry I've been out the last couple nights. Friday I was so exhausted from a long day at school I crashed at 8:30. I ended up waking up at 4:30 am and jumped on and I saw that I missed md and a couple others by an hour or so. Last night the bride wanted to use the ps3 to watch a blu-ray. I should be on all night tonight.

For all the people that have shown interest in playing, tonight is the night to play. We usually just play amongst ourselves on sundays and tuesdays.

Hopefully the beta site being down is to upgrade it to add the 1.5 stuff in. Now I start laughing at myself for dreaming that 1.5 will come out anytime soon...

That is a logical explanation as to why the site is down. Although as we have seen /6 does not seem to follow the logical path to completion in anything they do.

Damn all these papers got me on professional speak mode

how is it next to the bell tower though? the bell tower isn't near the red room imo...

if ur on the commandos side it is left side of the map, and opposite for mercs...

correct me if i'm wrong...

Yep my bad. Its hard to imagine the maps when not playing. The bell tower is by the Merc fish market building.

Is that you Evil? We need to run together sometime soon

Always. Ill be on @ 11 but I would bet there are 10 or so on right now

We pretty much stopped posting room info in here since its on the XMB now

Yes, I did leave the clan. But I'm still keeping the CAG tag and simply named the clan CAG Germany. If any of you want to come join, I'll be more than happy to invite. You can even send me invite requests for your auxillary accounts.

Germans are pretty awesome. You get cool KSK headgear, different ranking symbols and a GMP. Though keep in mind all your clan stats will be wiped if you leave. Not sure about being released from a clan contributing to the same thing.

lame-o:roll:

I was wondering how people got those cool face shields. Didn't realize there was country-specific equipment besides the guns, although I guess it wouldn't make sense for everyone to have the SAS berets.
so is anyone playing tonight?
I'm playing pretty much every night.

Good games last night. I was totally bummed to get disconnected after a couple 3 kill rounds. Oh well. See everyone tonight for CAG Night
I haven't been able to play SOCOM in weeks...and tonight isn't looking too good either, dammit.
Same here. First, it was a 360 W@W tournament I am in and then the PS3 TV being occupied on game nights

I'm going to try to get on tonight but I have a feeling it ain't gonna happen. :whistle2:#

Looks like turnout will be lower than usual, I won't be there either. Going to Phillies-Brewers tonight. Man the sports complex is going to be a mess tonight with the phillies and flyers both playing at home tonight at 7. I may jump on when I get home but that won't be until 11 or midnight.
How easy is Platinum on this game? Anyone do it yet?
Takes a looooooong time and playing at least decently.

The developer Slant6 said themselves that this was not an easy Trophy game and pride themselves on it.
How easy is Platinum on this game? Anyone do it yet?
I can't imagine that I'll ever get there. The most kills I have in a game is 11 and the most I've gone without dying is like 8. I can't see ever getting 15 in a row. I also don't have the patience to work though all the weapons. I have a tough enough time killing people without using some of those machine guns that are all over the place.

Did I miss some epic action or what? Ill be on this weekend but not Sunday Night. After next week though Im about to veg out and play Socom for a couple days. Cant Wait!

We played a few games, around 7 or 8 of us were on. Another clan came in towards the end and schooled us two games in a row, haha. Fun night though, looking forward to seeing you back on Smog!

The games are always fun. The frostfire elimination game that I ended on was one of the worst for me. I don't think I had a shot that hit anyone let alone a kill. Very sad.

Sorr y about missing last night guys. I worked untill like 1o pm yeterday(was suposed to get off at 4) and was just to exausted to do anything but come home and crash.

Confrontation Tournament Feature Posted by Cindy “Abigale” Bowens

Hi, Folks-

The QA team is working their way through Patch 1.50. It's a big update with a lot of new features. We will announce details on its release in a future update.

In the meantime, I found out some details about the Tournament Matches so I wanted to share some of that with you today.

Tournament Matches
Tournaments are bracketed matches of multiple teams going head-to-head on the field of battle. Tournaments will self-balance, so that there will not be an odd number of teams. Tournament matches are separate from clan ladder matches, so your clan standing will not increase. Your personal rank will advance, however.

Tournaments can take course over a set period of time. There are separate weekday and weekend tournaments to accommodate a variety of schedules. You can join a tournament as a solo player placed on a team or you can get a party together and join a tournament as a team.

Registration
If a player selects a tournament that has not yet started they may select the tournament and pre-register for it. Any player may join a tournament as either a team leader or a team member. Players may also be auto assigned to public teams. A player does not need to be in a clan to participate in a tournament.

Scheduling
Tournaments are divided into two timeslot categories, ‘Weekend Tournaments’ and ‘Weekday Tournaments’. Weekend Tournaments run Saturday-Sunday, Weekday Tournaments run Monday-Friday. Timeslots are further divided by region.

Structure
Matches are played in a single elimination format, without consolation rounds. A tournament is broken into qualifier rounds and final rounds. On weekdays, one Qualifier is played each day throughout the week. On weekends, Qualifier 1, Qualifier 2, and Qualifier 3 are played on Saturday, while Quarterfinals, Semifinals and Final rounds are played Sunday.

Team Creation
After registration a player may choose ‘Create Team’. After selecting this, the leader must enter a ’Team Name’. Immediately after the name is entered the team will appear as their active team in ‘My Tournaments’.

Joining a Team
After registration, there are several ways a player may join a team (other than creating one of their own). Methods include accepting a team invite, requesting to join a team, and awaiting auto assignment.

image.axd

The Tournament Lobby
30 minutes before match start time the tournament lobbies will be created. At this time all teams will be randomly seeded and matched up against other teams. All players of each team will be sent a game invite to join the tournament lobby.

Advancing in the Tournament
After a match finishes each team will be notified of the result of the match. If a team is eliminated then they will no longer be registered in the tournament. Also, each player will not receive any future game invitations. If the team wins, then they will be given a notification of their next match start time. Players on winning teams will join the next bracket or round in the same way that the team joined the first tournament match. For the top three positions the team will be awarded a trophy in the form of bronze for third place, silver for second place or gold for tournament winner.
