CAG Socom Thread-SONY SHUTTING DOWN SERVERS AUGUST 31 for S1-CA Tue&Sun10pmEST

I would love to re-establish a Confrontation night. Ill put the word out and see what works for people.

Syn, the servers will be on until 2014 at the very least. They just shut down the PS2 servers on the 10yr anniversary of Socom 1. The only good thing about shutting down S1-CA is that it has brought more players back into the Confrontation community.

I'm still hunting for my mic. I played a game last night, 7v3 of course (my team being the 3). Got 2 kills in 5 rounds. Been a couple of years since I last played, forgot how much the controls take to get use to.

What time were you on? There were four of us from 10pm till about 1am EST. I'll add you to my friends list.

It was great playing with you guys again, but man I am horrible.

I totally agree with this statement, especially the part about being horrible. The only people that are left playing are the super hardcore players. It was nice though to not find everything riddled with cheaters as I was getting shot in the face.
 
Yeah I had a great time last week. Even got Md on for a knife kill! Yeah the competition has gotten better on there for sure.

Well, CAG has certainly changed!  Anyways The Last of Us is dropping this week, it looks like it has a 4v4 round based mode.  3rd person, hopefully it is much better than Uncharted MP.  It looks to be much more focused on stealth and teamwork.  Could be an option for some of us. Drop a line here or hit me on PSN if you guys want to play.

Yo guys. I rewatched that Knife Club video we had that one time. Those were the days. I sure am gonna miss those good times playing Socom.

FINAL GAME NIGHT BUMP!!!!

Even though none of us have played in a while, I think we all miss this game dearly.  The servers get turned off for good tomorrow, so lets get in as much in as possible tonight.  I can't imagine we will get more than a few people to show up, but I will create a private 4v4 room.  I would like to just make it short rounds/modes to play as many as possible.  I will include cold front (dlc) maps because they are still awesome maps. 
 

 
I just threw my disc in since I had dumped the digital version off my HD I lost my data.  I am reinstalling it right now.  Not sure if I'll have cold front on there or not.

 
Good games guys! Sorry about turning off the mic, my wife came home and we were talking. But. Gold, that was an awesome plant and win! I'm glad at least we had that one high note amid the rest of the matches :lol:
 
It was way fun to have a couple last games before it was all said and done.  Thanks MisterBee for setting it up.  This was the best group to play with.  Peace to everyone and good bye to Socrack.

Also I miss gaming with you guys and I cannot believe that this thread was started nearly 10 years ago.  Still no game can even come close to the amount of fun I had on Confrontation.  Hope all you guys are doing well!

ooo sweet. I'll give it a shot. A friend gave me a copy of the game a decade ago when he sold his PS3, but I never got around to playing it, as much as I loved SOCOM 1 & 2.

I’m in! I hooked it up and played a few when it went live a month or so ago. Would love to get some matches together with the old squad!
 
That's crazy that this is working again.  I wonder if you can unlock trophies?  I wonder if I still have my game?  My ps3 is still hooked up so I'll try it if I find the game sometime.  Sadly, I imagine that I'll be garbage. . . not that I was good to begin with.
