Don't think I'll make it on tonight but on another note, is anyone in the MAG beta? I got a couple of beta codes at PAX but they aren't active until the 17th. I also scored 2 different MAG t-shirts and a SOCOM Fireteam Bravo t-shirt. Also, if anyone was interested in APB don't be because it just looks like Playstation Home with guns.

Yes, I'm in the MAG closed beta. It's worth your while.
 
Lethal and MD are also in the MAG beta. Pretty cool they hooked you up with some swag. Was Seth Luisi there spitting lies? lol

My PS3 Slim is supposedly out for delivery right now...I work nights so I don't get home until about 12:30 EST :( I'll probably jump on sometime this afternoon just to start getting used to the controls.

After installing SOCOM, I was only prompted to download and install 1 update. It took about 10 minutes (140-ish MB?) and yeah...that was it. I thought people said I had to install multiple updates to bring it up to 1.50? Anyway, I'll be on this afternoon sometime...
 
i still dont get how you guys throw grenades so fast. I remember reading something about how to select the grenade by holding down "O" and left on the d-pad to pull up the grenade. then hit "L1" to have that as your quick select weapon change. but when i hit L1 again, it brings up the primary or the secondary.

there's been a few times where i wish i can just lob a grenade by hitting an R trigger, like in other games.

I think the first thing any of us do is set grenades to the quick switch at the beginnings of rounds 1&5, since they stick now you only have to do it once.

If you have the default control scheme it goes like this:
1. Hold down O to bring up the weapon wheel.
2. Hold down left/right (which ever your grenades are on) and hit L1, the little circle icon should switch from your pistol to the grenades. There now will be circle icons on your main weapon and the grenades.
3. When you want to use a grenade, hit L1 (assuming you have your main weapon selected), hold down R1 aim using the throwing arc and let go of R1 and your character with throw the grenade.

took me a while to get used to throwin nades on socom, still don't get the arc right most of the time tho.
Dang, I'm always on in the mornings cuz that's my night time (work overnights).
I'll def be playin wit u guys sat and sun night tho
 
sorry to post twice and nobody replied yet!
but I noticed in the msgs a ladder match against another clan proposed for today (Sunday) at 7pm.
that happenin still? and is that 7 est or pst?
i'll jump in if it is.
 
well I'm new to the clan..so I should prob not say too much lol.
but the msg I got for the clan ladder challenge, states sunday sept 13 at 8:00 PM.
either way, I'll commit.
 
8x8 tonite 11pm est
tomorrow 8x8 10pm est
if we join a 16 x ladder you think we can consistantly fill it or sttick to 8x and have the rest in a cag night and not do ladders on clan nights
 
if we have the matches close to CAG nights, then we can prolly get 8 people. Otherwise, I'd think it to be unlikely.

I doubt we can get 16x at a time. So I would say nay on that... for now.
 
but when the whiners are on we get 8 almost every night
shit had like 4 on today at like 8 am for a whole map rotation
 
u can almost always count me in in the mornings. i work overnights except sunday thru tuesday afternoon so i play nights on those days too.
so u can always count me in on sat sun mon nights
 
man, i was not on my game this mornin tho. my controller f***s up when I lift it up so it's hard to get a good throw with nades.
ah well, i got vip once, sad i never usually do. always so damn close

Sorry about those teamkills to Diamond and Lethal.

Diamond - i felt bad when I sprayed and clipped you on accident.

Lethal - I thought I set up my grenade arc and somehow when i threw it, it fell short. Must have double tapped my r1 button.

Oh yeah, nice job on the 15 kill streak option. What gun were you using on crossroads(escort)?

Thanks, I'm totally psyched i got that medal/trophy out of the way. Even got a marksman medal at the same time.

The guns I was using happened to be the tried and true IW-80 and the STG 77 on the merc side. I'm starting to like those guns. Not as much kick up as the others. Also love the front grip attachments.

I was just feeling it at the time. Knowing the maps helps a lot, and I seem to be most familiar with Crossroads. Definitely my favorite map. Also good job Esp on the multiple MVPs.

Again, great games everyone. Lots of fun was had. See you all next time.

I'll try to make it tomorrow, not entirely sure.
 
congrats option and esper.

i forgot how to throw the grenade in some of my games. later i remembered that it was letting go of R1. so i guess i would ve looked funny with a grenade as some of you guys gunned me down. ha.

It's all good man. Right now I'm so confused most of the time I don't even know what's going on anyways. I just try to get some kills and not be a complete liability. ;)

Will have to take my frustrations out on all of you tonight.
