CAG Socom Thread-SONY SHUTTING DOWN SERVERS AUGUST 31 for S1-CA Tue&Sun10pmEST

It was good to see a few people on for a CAG night again.

I'm not sure I;ll make it either. My bride uses the TV once a week and it happens to be wednesdays at 10:00. I might be able to unhook the ps3 and move it to another room depending on how ambitious I'm feeling at that time of night.
 
I'm flying back from Florida so I won't be able to get on tonight. Also why i was out yesterday sinve i had a 6am flight...
Good luck though.
 
holy crap, i think i'm not the only one addicted to the uncharted 2 demo. but i'm sure that'll die off real quick, the game only comes out in less than 2 weeks anyway. too bad we lost last night in the socom ladder match tho.

I just got a couple of games in of the uncharted demo in last night but I think it's going to be a must buy.

I'll be in for Friday's match for sure. My bride is out of town and the kids are having a sleep over at my sister's. Socom all night:applause:
 
Ugh, I haven't played with you guys in like a month and have only turned on my PS3 maybe twice and that was to download demos and betas that I have yet to even get a chance to play since I've either been too busy or unable to get access to the TV.

I swear I will try and get on this Sunday.

BTW, I too will be picking up Uncharted 2.

looks like there wasn't a match tonight. there was a msg about a match declined for Oct 1, last night, but otherwise, nothing happened.

hopefully we get somethin goin down in the coming days.
 
Great thread here guys, going to pick up Socom Confrontation soon, as soon as it gets delivered to me, 15 bux on ebay, snagged myself a good deal.

Look forward too it!! All of us have put a lot of effort into this game/clan and I appreciate everyone holding it down while Ive been busy. Seriously being out of college sucks

I am almost out of high school and can't wait for it, although I see where your coming from though.

On a side note, why isn't there a thread like this for mgs4?
Also, I am making an assumption because there isn't one on the front page.

Back in college, for me at least, I had most of my classes between 10/11AM to 4/5PM. So plenty of time to play and stay up late and still get sleep.

I might hop on tonight (PST). But in the meantime, just spend time in the user created rooms. The ones with infinite respawn. Stats aren't affected by it and most of the time you just practice killing people.

You'll have to wait until Smiggity invites you to the clan though. Also would be helpful if you added your PSN to your profile since your IDs differ.

man i graduated college in May and I have to agree, it sucks hardcore. maybe not in the long run if you got a good job or good things goin, and altho i'm not speakin for you smig, i got the worst job and can't find anything else still (everybody says the economy, but prob also cuz i ain't searchin hard enough).

Not in yet, but I hope I join. Tbh, I didn't expect much from this game, I generally hate socom, never played online though. I have also been lurking the Ps3 boards at socom.com and saw nothing but negativity.

Played a few games, and love it. Both were infinite respawns, one was a night map, where I was shortly after introduced to rpgs. :p

Overall, like the game so far, I like it more than cod4, I like the competitive feel to it. I will be on all night, so hit me up with an add guys. Also, I have no mic yet at least D:

I loved being in college but I wouldn't want to go back. Finding a job in todays market is brutal. Being a teacher doesn't pay much but it's a good job and I have time to play games, wakeboard, and golf. I value my time more than the $. I look at my brother-in-law who is a lawyer and my sister who's a doctor. They both make 2-3x as much as me but have to work an insane amount of hours every week and have zero time for life.

And I agree, the CAG Socom clan is the best
 
I wouldn't midnd going back to college, but I like having a job and buying whatever I want :)

It took me 2 years after I got out to find a job in my field, mostly due to the economy in 01-02 so I wouldn't worry too much about it nfs3.

And welcome megiddo to the socrack clan.
 
Working in retail and overnights isn't fun at all, but it's a job and i gotta keep myself optimistic. i do get quite a bit of gaming time in, so that holds me over.

Anyway. Anythin special for tomorrow night's Socom?
 
Yeah I have a "cool" job per say but cool to me is like 60k a year, full benefits and a creative environment. Highly doubt I will find that, but whatever. What I miss about taking classes every day instead of working was the marathon Socom sessions. There were days when I would play for like 10hrs straight.....Ahhh I miss it

That's one of the things I miss most about college and life before kids. There were days I'd be able to play for 10-12 hours straight especially during the winter months. Although, like Condor said, it is pretty nice to buy any game you want when you want it. I used to buy and play a lot more games before Socom though.

60 days after they fix it is all u get and my 1 year was longer than that sucks cuz i used thr drive less than i did before so makes me think they just cleaned it or something just my luck

That sucks man, I feel your pain. I felt gutted when my 360 got rrod. Even though I got it repaired free, it was to stressful. I prefer the ps3 :3

Wish I could say the same thing. I rested enough, been warming up on confrontation. Crazy, just love this game and I have barely played it.

On a side note, when the dlc comes out, will you gaiz be gamesharing for it?

We'll have to check as they might end up locking it like the downloadable version of SOCOM where only 1 system on the account can use it per 24hr period.

i should prob look into gamesharing. i've spent far too much money on my own (burnout, lbp skins, noby, battlefield, fat princess).

Man WTF Can a brother get some time off in this bitch???? Straight from Kiss to some Wesley Snipes movie. Im thinking of taking next week off completely to rest up and feed my Socom addiction. The blog has shots of both new factions if anyone is interested. Should be coming out soon!

I saw the new factions, kinda disappointing that we won't be able to switch over clan factions. I am happy at the new weapons available to everyone now when the dlc comes out.

I am more interested on whether or not a fraction of the maps will be free, or if we just have to pay for it when the patch comes out.
 
Thanks for the great Newbie guide, smiggity. I just picked this up from Goozex so I'll be out there sucking it up but at least I'll have a fighting chance with this extra knowledge.
 
Game night bump, sadly I won't be there, damn you TBS and MLB giving the defending world series champs no respect when it comes to game times.

On second thought, its been so long and that socom itch needs to be scratched, maybe I can miss a few early innings...
 
I played a little earlier this afternoon and I really like it. Only problem I had was a teammate that wanted to grief the entire team. He finally quit but it was only 3 on 3 by that point.

I was gonna play tonight but Colts and Yanks are on.
 
pretty cool, MrB and smog. I only beaten arena once with a good team.

arena is not that bad. you just have to grab those gattling guns to take out the other people with gattlings. and sometimes the computer is too dumb to tell that you're taking the indirect route.
