CAG Warhawk Night [TBD]

I figured out what happened to me... I guess a tank (and jeep maybe) needs to be going a certain speed before it can mush someone.

And I've read they moved the jeep horn to L1.

And I was deleting some videos from my PS3 and re-watched the old Warhawk trailers. Man, the AA machine gun turret looked like it would have been awesome. Also the single player trailer made me cry a little for what will never be (mainly the huge flying carrier ships).
 
now that ive been reading the recent posts on jeeps.

Does anyone remember someone tearing in on a warhawk during a CTF friday night, on the map with the big valley between the two bases, and absolutely launching a jeep across the base with the collision?

I was the pilot, I swear it happened.
 
I guess now its possible to launch people over walls with Warhawks.I was playing Sunday on the Badlands map-zones,and my team was occupying the middle base(3).I was in the top left corner facing their base-when I see one of the bastards get on top of Warhawk then launched through the air,over the wall of our base.Now, he was a good distance away from the wall.
 
The Machine Gun turrets can damage tanks as well... My brother was shooting at me with it while I was in a tank, and it made considerable damage to the tank.

May it become the new strategy for base defense? ;)

haha, I didn't even mean to reference you. I just thought it sounded better than the term "man cannon" that people have used for the metal gear online screenshots.

I tested it out last night on a lan server (I had a few things I wanted to test). A single clip of the jeep turret will take out anything (provided you don't miss, it takes about 80 or so bullets to take out a tank). If the ground mounted .50 cals had greater turning radii they would be useful (anyone test if they changed that?)

It would only make sense to name it after you anyway. There will be manapulting this Friday!


And to comment on the talk of machinegun turrets. It looks like they're trying to strengthen the ground troops. Which is great in my book because if I'm not flying around, I'm usually trekking it on foot everywhere.
 
Well I played a few games online for the first time tonight, and it was pretty fun, though I couldn't figure out how to join the servers for Recruits . We were playing Team DM for 8 people so I didn't die too much. :)
Yeah I'll join with you guys tomorrow night on CAG night.. I think I have a few of you on my firends list so I'll join to join your server when you guys are playin'.

I tried turning it today... It seems to only turn, more or less, about 90 degrees, so the radii is weak in that respect. I don't know if it had greater radii before the patch, since I never really used the MG turret that much before. ;)

I guess they didn't change it. :cry: Oh well, maybe later... Maybe it'd be better if they kept the turning radius the same, but made it so it protected you a very little bit from damage, as if it had two small metal plates on either side of the gun (does it have plates graphically? I can't remember...).
 
Man, I really have to make another one of these. I think I'm slowly getting better. Of course, as soon as I think that, I teamkill someone...
 
I was just playing some DM games in the official servers and noticed something strange. Several times I'd hit someone with a knife (I know I hit them because they went "Ung" and did their character moved as if they got hit) but they didn't die. Anyone else ever have this happen. I'm sure it was lag, but it's just odd that I've never seen this happen until today.

There have been a few times where I've been running behind someone and stabbing them constantly and they won't die. Sometimes they're even standing still and it'll happen. It makes the stabbing sound and everything. So frustrating arrrh.

:lol: I swear I gave several people free shaves and haircuts.

It also seemed like my assault rifle did less damage that it should (I'm sure some of the bullets just didn't hit). I like it better when I'm hosting.

Speaking of which, I'm probably going to host this Saturday (well I am, no probably about it) but I'm going to do a dedicated server with I guess a minimum of 2 people (unless someone suggests 4 would be better) and lots of small maps starting around 5pm eastern. I'm leaving the house then and I'm not sure when I'll be back, should be before 11 but I'm not 100% sure. I'm going to make the server message be "If server goes down check back in a few minutes" or something similar since I'm going to switch over to a player server when I get home so I can play.

That happens to me all the time when I an chasing them - I see the blood spray an everything... and they just keep going :bomb:
 
Hey SoCalDude, hope you didn't mind me making an appearance. My headset's charging for tomorrow or I would've said hi.

I was hoping to get in some quick points in hopes of ranking up before tomorrow. I only need a few hundred to go I think. But then I noticed it wasn't loading my profile, which makes me suspect there's some error with the stats server, so I decided to just call it a night.

I first saw you when it said I killed you with the mine I hid :cool: But that game was all messed up. It said I had earned my Bandit Land Mine badge in that game.... thats great since I earned my Master Land Mine reward last month :rofl:I also got kicked from the game because it said the server was disconnected. After I re-entered the same game I noticed all my profile stuff was gone, even a few re-boots did not help out. I also noticed I could not load any of my buddies profiles either. So I have no idea WTF was going on, but I really wated to play last night :bomb:


But ya, anybody feel free to join me in a game, I always check my buddy list to see if anybody is on and if so I join them in the game. I play with Super King all the time and even met up with freaky a few times.

I am actually going to hop on right now since I just noticed I have 9,997 team points.... gotta get that above the 10K mark now :)

That happens to me to. I think it's because of the angle of the knife, you get more damage at different angles.
I could be wrong, they could be cheating.... since there are several cheats in the game. Once I kept getting killed by a fucker named Daniel-Victor with a tank. He would camp the exploit spots on certain maps where radar doesn't pick you up and you can basically wallhack the map. Everytime I'd die, it would show his name and show me where he killed me from... except I'd never see him, just a cliff or mountain. I got so fed up that I switched teams, searched him out, and TK'd the jackass 3 times. Needless to say, he dropped from the server.

I'll play but first I must... watch... BSG...

But yeah, I could stab like 20 times, and sometimes the dude in front of me would NOT freakin' die! I was thinking it might be some lagging as well, but I'm not 100% sure on that. :drool:

I doubt we'll play past 11:30pm (or much after). I try to go to bed before midnight since I hate waking up past 8am in the morning.

It's just a theory, but I remember this making a difference in other games with knives as weapons, getting a kill vs. just some damage depended on where you were "aiming". Honestly, we could try the theory out tonight, look down to the other player's feet as you slash them and see if it kills them or not.

Knifes should be one hit one kill... that's the whole point of using the knife. At least that's what I've always heard.

The other advantage is that using the knife doesn't cause you to pop up on enemy radar.

I just tested this and yes, the copilot can see the entire map, even infantry who are just standing around.

We (we... I don't know remember if you were even on my teem...) should have used this last week during the king of the hill CTF game when someone took our flag and hid.

Anyway, Warhawk night had a record high people show up, 20 or more, so I'm VERY happy. Lots of fun tonight and I'm glad we showed our anger against a certain person. ;)

I look forward to next week (although I will not host), but after that, I should be able to host Warhawk night for a long time. :)

If I feel like it, I'll delete one PSN friend and add someone who showed up at Warhawk night. Also, if anyone wants to be in the CAG clan, let me know.
 
LOL, I had to turn the mic off because of my annoying sister, and a phone call I had to take, so 'je suis desole'. :)

That was a fun game, and the dogfights were fun, especially the death match dogfights... I still need to perfect my Warhawk dodging maneuvers though; it's good, but not perfect... :cool:

LOL no I created it myself.. a couple of my 360 buddies that also go to KU created our own [KU] clan on CoD4 on the 360.. so I thought I'd hold it down on the PS3 =) haha I rented CoD4 from Gamefly so I've been re-leveling on that.. hope to join a CAG night for that as well :)

Mana.. not to sound desperate haha but I'd like to become a friend.. you'd my be first hahah

mguiddy continued a DM server, and that was a blast. He's going to owe me a brand new DS3 soon. I swear, every time he pulls out the blade I die. It happened so often I was getting close to tossing the controller across the room. At one point I almost bit a piece off it :)
