CAG Warhawk Night [TBD]

I plan on playing with you guys Friday if the MGO beta madness doesn't interupt. Given it's current problems, that shouldn't be a problem for me. I don't know anything about the CAG clan though.

Speaking of names, I've also known who HPL and Cthulhu are but I never bothered to sound out the 8u and feel incredibly stupid now for not realizing that there is a bad pun in the name.:cry:

I've also wanted to make sure that Super_King took his name from Futurama (in which case "Super King has all the powers of a King plus all the power of Superman, also he's a robot. Ain't it cool? Super King you rule!")


On a side note to keep this post at least partially in topic, I'd totally be up for Tuesday night Warhawk booster pack clan nights, especially since the semester ends in 2 weeks for me. (Anybody want to write a few final exams for me? :lol:)
 
Tuesday nights are iffy for me, I work about half of the Tues nights. But if I am not workign I will be there no doubt.
 
I will get the Warhawk booster packs once I sell a ton of crap in my tradelist (probably in 1-2 weeks). I will not share them with anyone since I hate sharing with people. :p
 
In the interest of more than a few hours of advance notice...

CAG Warhawk Booster Tuesday! will start tomorrow between 7-7:30 Pacific / 10-10:30 Eastern. We'll do some DMs on the smaller layouts and maybe try out the dropship and APC layouts on the classic maps. Depending on turnout, I'll put in some vehicle layouts on the new maps.

I had to pull a lot of strings with Konami to get them to delay the MGO beta and give us time to play Warhawk, so I hope a lot of people can make it!

LOL. Yeah, I'll be there. I must be one of few who didn't preorder MGS4. Don't worry, I'm going to get it, but I'm sure if I preorder it, they'll announce a super special premo edition with fixes and new crap a month after MGS4 comes out.

I think I got it figured out, but I hadn't used my mic in so long it had almost no charge. While I was using it, I'd hear a chirp when I pressed L3, and again when I let it go. That and I'm pretty sure I got a couple responses Friday, so I think I'm set.

Most definitely! Take a guess what it says under 'About Me'. I used to watch so much Futurama it bordered on being unhealthy, not so much since it moved to CC. :cry:

And I do have both expansions now, but this Tuesday I'll be watching the Spurs play as soon as I get out of work. Hope to get in on some expansion action some other time.

Yep, mine does the chirp too (I still haven't turned on open mic). I guess it's probable that I didn't notice when you said stuff (though I tried to watch, since I remembered you were having problems with your mic).

When I host (the occasional Friday and nearly all Saturdays) we usually play after midnight, the past few weeks we quit around 2 - 3 am. When TMK hosts Fridays it seems we play for maybe 1.5 hours. When metaly hosts we play for 20 minutes if we're lucky.:cool:;):lol:

For this Saturday's game I'm planing on having the last two maps be booster maps. That way those without the boosters can play, but their just be kicked from the server for the last two maps.

Midnight what time zone? It seems like most of the clan is Eastern, but at least a few (me, freakyzeeky, SoCalDude) are Pacific and can potentially play later. Of course, if you're talking about playing after midnight Pacific during the week, that might be pushing it.

I was actually going to just use CAG_Clan, but I'm fine with a Mana-mandated metalyland. :) I think I have everyone with the boosters on my list anyway, so the game should be pretty easy to find.

So far I have 15 (16 as soon as freaky gets his CC back) people on the list, that's a pretty good number that have the booster packs.

I play late sometimes, but I go by CST so midnight for you is right about when I stop. Feel free to join in if you see me, most times I'm playing CTF.
 
I think I told you all before, I will get the booster packs in two weeks. The only thing I might do is if Warhawk becomes even bigger (where we exceed server size), I might consider splitting up by booster pack server and non-booster pack. However, I don't everyone will have it since not everyone has a credit card (and PSN cards are quite difficult to find).

Can you host 32 during the summer TMK? 32 player CAG matches would be off the hook..Plus it seems we are nearing the 30 mark right now..

We must have nearly 20 regulars already

Hosting 32 is damn near required to use the full BM (yeah, they shouldn't have named it after a bodily function) map. That map is huge.
 
It's too bad Sony doesn't offer a server rental plan like they have with a lot of PC games. If people chipped in a few bucks a month (probably even less with the way the clan has grown), we could probably get a dedicated 32-player server with reserved slots and hand out an admin login so people could set up a game whenever they wanted.

And we wouldn't have to worry about connections flaking out. :whistle2:\"
 
Hey guys. The game may start 5-10 minutes late because I'm going through all the layouts to figure out which ones are good for smaller groups. I'll put a huge one at the end for some Warhawk Olympics, though.
 
Pretty good turnout for the first real booster night. Thanks to everyone who showed up.

The DM layouts were definitely still the favorites. I'll try to find a good small-sized TDM layout for next time so maybe we can get some vehicles involved. I'll probably put in a dogfight next time, too.
 
The CTF game on the small glacier map was pretty good. There were some heated battles over the flag despite it only being 4v4.

My favorite thing though was in another round, we ended up with three of us each driving our own APC. Then instead of doing anything cool, we just sort of got lost trying to get through the center village. We lost the round shortly after that and then noticed that we were the only guys on our team, against 7 or so on the other team. So for a while it was just our APCs messing around while the other team took over all the zones. :lol:

Also, does anyone know who that threerandomwords guy is? He never uses his mic and I don't know who he is on here. He's pretty merciless with the assault rifle.

No clue, I was wondering the same thing.


And I had to laugh, during the DM match on OD (with all the levels), somehow I muted everyone (I mean I know how to mute people, I just don't remember doing it). I kept wondering why everyone was being so quiet. :oops:#-o

And next time, OLYMPICS FIRST! I only really showed up to do the olympics (I'm not feeling well) and we didn't do it. :cry:

Did you do the grider (something like that) on BM? I *love* that map. The only small map I like better is northern bridge.

I wish I could have made it... I was at work and a little after 7pm I knew yall were playing and I was not having fun. I had to go over to the PS3 display and play the Warhawk video :( But ya, Tuesdays are iffy with me.. now.... if you wanna change it to Mondays I would be there with bells on every week :cool: But no wrries.. I get some Tuesdays off so its all good.

I was only there for one DM (during halftime), but I did manage to hit metaly with a rocket to the face just as he had jumped off a rooftop. I think it bugged him since he had just picked up the binoculars, he didn't seem too happy. :bomb:

Sorry I couldn't stay longer, but I had to support my Spurs. I think they're playing again Friday, so I might not make that one.

P.S. I'm loving the APC!

We did some DM on Grinder, yeah. The second half we spent just trying to get up to the binoculars.

I'd be fine alternating this between Monday and Tuesday. It's probably better to do it Monday next week since on Tuesday everyone will be playing that new carjacking game.

The APC thing was pretty funny...I launched a grenade from ground level all the way up to the top of a roof and smacked someone in the head with it..I think that was my epic Warhawk moment of the year:applause:

There's not enough days in the week for all this crap nowadays.

Have we entertained the idea of running 2 servers on the 'official' night. I think we have enough people now that each server would have 8-12 people, which is nice for small/medium maps.
 
Haha, we were quite lost in those APCs. I wasn't taking the team games too seriously last night, just the DM.

Hence why I ended up shanking (and TKing) metaly as we each popped out of an APC hatch.:lol:
