How long does that trick work?
For me it took about an hour and a half to cut out in GTA and around the same amount of time in warhawk.

I figured they were aware of it, I didn't know if they made any type of announcement about it though.

I feel sorry for the teams (well... not really :evil:) playing without a headset in the GGL tourny. :twisted::lol:

I was doing the on/off trick during GTA too, and it was fine until I forgot to do it after recreating the game. #-o#-o#-o

Just checked with a friend who uses USB and he's having similar issues. It happened for him during GTA, but since this seems to not be game-specific it probably won't help if you use a USB with Warhawk, either.
 
The other night I was fine for a while, then when I got cut out I switched to my PS Eye as my mic and BT headset as the speaker and that worked the rest of the time. Now, I've got a usb headset too so hopefully 1 of 3 options will always work.

Both modes are great, especially Hero mode... It's quickly starting to become my favorite, especially on the smaller maps. ;)

Also, if you do become the Hero, stay away from mguiddy! He will knife you quicker than most of the chefs move in Iron Chef!
I've learned this the hard way... :'(

I haven't been keeping up with Warhawk (or any other game) since my PS3 got borked but now that is back I got to join in the matches last week.

Took me a few minutes to reset the controls back to where I liked them and was flying around with ease. The new weapons/modes were interesting. I tried to ask how the heck to play them but the mic system is broken or something (Mana tried to explain some).

Hero is great. If you can, try RAMMING your Warhawk into others haha... I took at least two people like that.

Hmmm... maybe I turned mine on too fast or something... Mine cut out at the start of the first C&C game.

I'm thinking the knives will be in with 1.5.

Pretty sweet, hero is awesome, though I'd love a DM hero instead of TDM. But some things would need to be tweaked for that to work... maybe make it like that MGO mode where one guy is Snake.
Dogfight hero pisses me off since they don't give you all the weapons.
Oh and regular hero pisses me off because the weapons drop in your backpack when you get killed and you keep the weapons when you stop being hero, if you survive long enough.

Collection is fun... yeah, that's my whole opinion on it...:lol:

Everything else is too slow... the trick is getting close enough.

Really... people should always stay away from me if I'm holding my knife, which is pretty much all the time.
I may not always get the kill, but probably most of the time (when I get close enough) I do. :twisted:

My PS3's hard drive went kaput... I knew it was going to happen (sometimes I'd have to power down to get out of folding), but hadn't backed up in a while.:dunce: All I really lost was maybe three - four hours of GTAIV gameplay (which I could redo in probably an hour now that I know how things work) and the most current Castlevania:LoI save file (at least I think I backed up after I started playing that... :shock::pray:).
So now I've gotta order a new one... It should be here in time for Saturday, but if someone else (freaky?) wants to host that'd be cool with me. With my girl I never know if I'll be home to host/play anyways.

And I'm just glad I ran folding so much, I figure it probably made the defect show up faster than just normal playing... Though, maybe with normal playing it would have never shown up? The world will never know.

That's terrible news. I feel your pain since I had to go 3 weeks without the PS3 when it died. At least you don't lose your WH stuff since that's on the Incognito servers.
I'll tell you, I deleted F@H recently. I blame it for killing my old system, and I found it still screwed up a lot (like the freezing you described). Everytime I fold, it doesn't update my score at all, so I was stuck at about 30 completed units, although I probably finished at least 45.
I assume you ordered something bigger, or was the old HD still under warranty?

It was probably still under warranty (isn't it a year?) I don't remember exactly when I bought it, but it was around this time last year. I just looked... I bought it 07/23/07... If the warranty is a year then >>

I never had any issues other than that freezing while leaving folding and once or twice a demo I downloaded was corrupt and I had to re-download.
Did your PS3 eventually completely fail? or did you just send it in under warranty when the hard drive failed?
I may stop folding... I like it as a way to test the system, but the only (real) reason I keep doing it is I'm afraid I'll miss another contest by marten.:cool::lol:

I didn't feel like sending it in and not having it for a month(even though I could use my backup... Yeah, I have a second one), plus I figured it was just a bad hard drive and I've wanted to get a bigger one anyways , so I just bought a 320 gig HD from Newegg for ~$120, which'll be here tomorrow (well, today actually).:bouncy: Hopefully that'll solve the problems, if not I may send it back, I heard sony was fixing out of warranty PS3 if people were having problems with GTAIV. I don't know. It's been a great month for me, first my car's transmission blows up (it's under warranty, so that's cool), then my monitor goes completely batshit (DON'T ever buy HANNS-G, that thing was a year old and it started having problems a couple of months ago, and now my replacement has a stuck pixel, so now I gotta take it back to CC for a replacement:roll:), now my PS3's HD...:cry:

TMK, You could probably add freaky as the host for saturday. Or at least have that there is a game on saturday in the title. You didn't put that in until late last week and I think some people didn't know about the game (or they were all watching batman) cause we didn't have that many people... or at least I thought there could have been more.

No, I don't think it's the same one.

I got this one, not the samsung one that was posted in that "Upgrade PS3 Hard Drive" thread. For some reason I thought the PS3 supported SATA 3.0Gb:roll:. Ohh well, it's backwards compatible and it was about the same price (the one I ordered is $10 cheaper than when I bought it a few days ago... too bad they don't have a price guarantee:cry:). Plus I like Western Digital. I always bought their stuff.

One good thing happened to me this month, I got a $2 copy of Burst Limit. :bouncy:

YAY! WD is great.

Yeah, I wanted Uncharted too, but I figured its been out for a while, so I thought it may start getting clearanced soon. I wanted to get something newer with GTA IV (I was going to use that copy to return to KMart, where I bought my other copy) which became out of stock right as I put my order through, so I got Burst Limit for free + S&H.:bouncy: I'm glad it didn't work the other way around, where GTA IV was the free game.:whistle2:#

I think it was my power supply. It just wouldn't power on, no light, nothing. It was under warranty and took about 3 weeks, so I guess I can't complain as far as Sony service goes. 320gigs is a nice size, I don't think you'd have to worry much about storing stuff with that.
I swear, if I found a non-BC cheap enough, and could convince the wife that we reeealllyy needed another BR player, I'd have a backup PS3 too...

...and just as a WH server if need be :lol:

mguiddy, I know I've said that I would host for today, but something came up a few hours ago. My cousin is having a birthday party today and I'd already promised him I'd be there beforehand. Sorry man, I'm afraid I won't be hosting today. :'(

Does anyone want to take over the hosting duties for today? ;)

There seems to be some kind of bluetooth breakup as soon as you start a new match I noticed, so I decided if the headset is turned off, it avoids being cut off. I figured this out because if people could join-in, have no problems, but then get cut off right when the next match starts, there had to be a problem in-between.

I'm not sure if I'll be around later, but I could try putting up a dedicated server. Super tentative, though.
 
I'll play a bit tonight, especially with COD night canceled. If we're going to play in public servers I should probably join the clan finally... How do I do that?
 
I'm home and and getting ready to install my new hard drive now... everything should be up and running for me to host at 10.
