CAG Warhawk Night [TBD]

LOL I was even trying to find an MP3 of the last theme so I can use it as my ringtone, but was not able to find it.
 
I remember thinking people could change the title screen music from the options or something when the music changed after the patch haha.

That's a good idea... we're getting bigger now and it seems more and more people are joining the clan... what is the limit on in game clans?

I always thought you were a veteran of the infamous CAG-GAF game, haha I guess it's better you didn't experience it.

Nope, that was before my time.

Anyone else notice some unpublished tweaks?
Now it's easier to kill people in jeeps... I could have sworn I noticed more, but can't think of them now.

Anywho... I'm going to try to do a ranked dedicated again tomorrow. It'll be Fallen Star only. I'll set it up before I go to work. Who knows how long it'll last though.:roll:

Also... please post if you have boosters and which ones you have so TMK can update the booster players list. I have all three.

I'm not sure I like jetpacks much... it really changes the game.

Good game everyone.Jetbacks where a blast to use.I got a few trophies,too.All in all a great expansion.
 
i have all 3 as well. gotta get more practice with the jetpacks. they dont enter my mind as the "go-to" device for many situations. like an airstrike, i still try to run away from it instead of activating the boost. also have to remember i have an ejection seat :p

I spent most of my time trying to get trophies...
 
I really lke the jetpacks so far. The new map is pretty bland-looking but the layout is really cool and it's easy to tell that it was designed for the packs. The jetpacks were fun on the older layouts we played, but there were a few times where they made it really easy to get items that are normally out of the way, like the binoculars on Destroyed Capital - King of the Hill. I don't think it's game-breaking, it's just an observation I had. Being able to jet over to the enemy base in a warhawk, grab their flag and boost to the nearest jeep may get annoying, though.

On the other hand, Close Corridors with jetpacks was a complete blast. I normally don't like that layout but it was awesome seeing people flying way out from the platforms or up to the top of the island. They just need to add a jetpacks-only dogfight mode.

Also I thought this patch was supposed to make it so you no longer need to keep agreeing to their usage policy. :bomb:
 
One of my favorite new tactics is grabbing a jetpack, an RPG, and a Warhawk and just swooping over the enemy flag, bailing out of the warhawk, and bunny hopping home.
 
I downloaded the new booster pack today, so I DO have all three booster packs... and wait, there was 'metalyland' tonight!? :shock:

LOL I had great fun toniight, but annoyed with the mic issues lol. Metaly, I got your PSN rmessage about shutting up mic after every map and that seemed to work.

Jetpacks are fun.. I actually control them better than the warhawks.. I need practice with those some more, I tried the drone attack training mode once and only got 5 drones by the time was over.. Do you get a trophy if you clear them all?

Next time we play I want to try the other maps and ships from the other two expansions. :)

Also I thought I heard someone mention there's an underground part in Tau Crater?
 
that was me talking about em in game. its hard to tell you where it is. just look for some holes in the ground 50 or so feet in front of the main spawn. (i think thats right) :p

also sinistar, your mic puts out a LOT of background noise. y not just use push to talk all the time? :)
 
Okay... I just remembered this... WTF was up with those trees with no leaves? I've ran full force into building and bounced off. If you slowly fly through those trees with full health you'll instantly die.

Also... booooooo! on the "small" layout. I just set up a ranked dedicated server and saw there might be some decent small layouts...

i know! that was annoying the crap out of me, these tiny little branches kept raping my hawk. since they dont have destructable environments, they need to make trees not damage you much. some of the tiny branches you cant even see until u are right on it, then its too late and ure dead.

Hmm I have a Jabra BT135. Not sure about the background noise, as it sounded OK in the test mode in PS3 options. I'll try to mess with the Warhawk voice options and I guess I can turn on push to talk instead of having it voice detect if it bugs everyone. :)
 
Try turning the sensitivity way down. I had mine at 30% for a while, and then recently I moved it to 20% because I noticed it was going off randomly. Just watch the mic icon in the upper left to see if your headset is picking up too much.

I swear that's a bug...
I'm going to do field tests this weekend to test just how damaging those burnt trees are. The regular trees aren't that bad, I bounced off those a couple of times, but those burnt trees...:hot:

I think that was the sound of the warhawk/tank/jeep engine. Freaky had that issue, but it only really happened when he was in a vehicle.
 
I assume there is no way to reset your stats right since its tied to your PSN ID? Only played it a couple of times last year when I first got the game but there was some glitch with the server reporting that shot me up to Commander rank after my first game online.

Not sure if this will effect any of the trophies or not. It did give me the trophy for getting to commander rank when I signed in tonight.

Also, are there any existing CAG clans that are still active. Might get back into playing this more regularly and would like to meet up with some people during the game nights. Not sure what the max number in the clan is and if the OP has been updated or if the 17 slots still open are accurate.
 
The random ranking up bug was fixed a long time ago. It'll probably set your rank back to normal soon. That's funny that it gave you the commander trophy, though. I got the chief sergeant one and I'm pretty sure that's the only rank-related trophy I'll be getting. (Until they give us points for playing clan games... Come on, Incognito!)

There's only one main CAG clan but it's pretty active. Just attend a few of the game nights and send Mana incessant PSN friend requests and he'll add you.

If Zyzomys wants to be in the clan, he'll get an invite (I've seen him play twice).

The only way around this is if I know someone very well at CAG because they were loyal to other CAG PSN Gaming nights (who just got Warhawk) and I'll be likely to invite them to the clan a bit quicker.

I try to only give clan slots to those I know who will play, since space is limited. I constantly monitor the last time people have been on, because if it has been a while, I will kick them off the clan to make room for others.

The list of boosters is somewhat updated.
 
I'm going to try and play tonight, but Saturday doesn't look good.

I don't have the 3rd expansion pack yet, if I get home quickly enough before the game starts I'll download it. Could anyone tell me how big the new expansion pack is (in MB)? That'll give me an idea how long it'll take to download.

I was happy at the start, but now it's too dead for my taste. Do you guys participate in Gamebattles and such?
 
I will be on tonight. I will even try to pay better attention to what type of game we are playing. Last night I thought we were playing a DM game and it turned out to be TDM. I suck so badly I do not think I harmed anyone, but I am sure I irritated a few people. Sorry. Also, attempting to CTF in a Zones game just does not work. I did manage to shoot down one WarHawk in the DogFight game. I heard my team talking about how badly we were being beaten. My mic was working intermittantly so I am not sure anyone heard me apologizing. The important thing is, I had fun. See everyone tonight!

Unfortunately not. However, the GGL tourney did not turn out too well so I would say most of us are done with competitive Warhawk gaming.
I would be down, though.

Don't apologize. I don't think anyone really cares how well we do. The important thing is having fun.

I'm not really looking into being a pro and winning tourneys (although it would be nice) but some higher end competitive games are always good for the clan...win or lose.

Seriously though... if we could play people who were at or slightly above/below our skill lever it would be fine, or people who don't base rape.

Funny thing... I've noticed a few times during clan nights one team would end up base raping the other team. I can't help but think... "Have you forgotten?":cry:

I have enough pts to be a Chief Sergeant but I need to get the Warhawk Recruiting badge then the bandit ground Combat.

This will be more goal for tonight's game.

Anyway, there are a few people apart of the CAG Warhawk clan, where IF I do not see you sign on soon or mention anything, I'll remove you (I'm looking at 3-4 people here who haven't logged on since April 2008).

Yeah... I only experienced it once, then pretty much gave up on GGL.

Yeah, there are some good players on CAG... the problem is, we don't "act" like a team.

That's cos we just play for fun. That's why at the beginning of rounds if the team is loaded with offensive players, they'll all book and leave home completely ungaurded. Or the opposite.

If you were to take it up a step competitively you'd need strategies, roles for players etc and someone one to coordinate it.

We're the Warhawk Casuals.
 
man, i wish i could play tonight :mad: i really want to get involved and join the clan since ill be able to make the good majority of nights. its just tonight i got called into work. remember my name TMK, youll be seeing me in games a lot now ;)

Exactly.
If we knew of other teams that mainly played for fun I don't think we'd have any issues doing clan battles. Out of all the teams we played during GGL, the only team I heard good things about was GAP.

If CAG Warhawk stopped being about fun, I'd stop playing.
