CAGcast #155: P(oops)!

I remember when I was younger, my mom would always want to get rid of the old chips we had around the house. She would then buy tuna to make tuna chip pizza, a combination of cheese, tuna, chips, and sometimes peas. There were many different flavors of chips interwoven throughout the pizza, making it a delicious suprise. You should try it sometime...

Whoever it was that bitched about CAG promoting Marijuana use is a total Cunt and needs to be banned. Neither Cheapy nor Wombat have encuraged this. They have both admitted to previous use. But come on! Encourage? First of all Cheapy and Wombat talk about what they want, when they want. If there is an episode (like when E3 rolls around) Where Cheapy tells a funny story of his ONCE A YEAR pot experience it should be seen as being a form of entertainment and not encouraging. Two, even if Cheapy wanted to smoke more weed and talk about it in Tokyo that would be near impossible due to the far more anal pot laws in Japan than compared to in North America.

The other thing is that this is their show and they can talk about whatever they want in an uncensored manner in the world of fake internet radio. I know I am getting worked up over nothing but I just believe that due to the fact that the CAGcast is published in cyberspace there should be no requirement to censor. If you don't like the pot talk (which is rare) then fuck off and listen to a religion based (excluding Rastafarian) podcast that I am sure is drug reference free.

Imma go hit my bong just so I can forget about that dick.

FYI Tuna on Pizza kicks ASS!!! In Germany this is very common.

You sound really intelligent. If you actually listened to the podcast, you would have heard when he talked about it. And what does religion have to do with marijuana? It's not a healthy habit and its also not legal. He doesn't have to stop doing anything he does . . . and I'm not going to stop listening. I also never asked him to censor anything, and he sure doesn't have too. If he didn't agree with me, fine. I really enjoy his podcast. I have as much right as anyone else though to say what I think. Hope to hear more stimulating comments from you in the future.

I can't even begin to grasp the idea of this pizza. Sounds insane.

Marijuana is legal in some places you know. As for being harmful, there isn't any real concrete evidence that it's unhealthy. Smoking of any kind has its risk albeit this isn't tobacco we're talking about.

Anyway, I don't think Cheapy advocates its use either explicitly or implicitly. He just likes to smoke a big fat blunt when he comes to LA for E3.

Hey Cheapy/Wombat. Have you ever considered giving your users a portion of the commission that you receive from links that they post? It wouldn't have to be much, but I think it would provide a higher incentive for users to post on this site first, rather than other sites.

I don't see that happening seeing as how that invites a flood of posts in the deal forums. Besides, if it doesn't get posted here first, it'll show up pretty quickly. The same happens the other way around.

As for the new trend with DLC, Capcom did what they thought would bring them insane amounts of money. GTA, Fable 2 and all of the others come out with DLC. Some more than others, but they all realized especially with RockBand and Guitar Hero that a little something for 5 or 10 bucks can equal out to enormous revenue. How much has GH made off purchasing new tracks? Capcom knew that people love to play FPS against friends and unknown people, it is a very widely known fact. Who doesn't love to beat someone they don't know and let them know they just got pnwned? So at a typical business stand point sure sell it at $5 bucks make a shit ton of money and call it a day. As long as people continue to purchase it, the will do it. Soon enough, we are going to get moderate games with $5-$10 content turning it into a semi good game. If they really want to dominate there is a better plan, (from someone in sales for the last 20 years) make a game like RE and sell it for $45-$50 bucks, then sell the DLC at $5 or $10. This way the consumer thinks they are getting a deal and is more willing to purchase DLC without as much question. (Sad but true) When the consumer sees a lower price mentally $10 DLC doesn't seem like much anymore.
[/quote]

I disagree with this sad but, true logic. What? If I buy a game as a retail purchasing consumer (I am almost never one) Then I will buy it at $60 for a nextgen game (new). I am assuming this game is complete w/o DLC and stuff (atleast for the nesr future).
However if I buy a game at $50 and then get the DLC for 5-10 then great! $5 would be even less than what I would have paid normally anyway!

Where has my logic gone awry with this? Because I was going to buy it at a higher price incomplete anyway.

It is not about logic, just simple human thought process. It's the same reason you will something for 2.99 before you buy it for 3 even. Just human thinking and gullablilty.

I saw a makeup commercial the other day on TV. When they mentioned a "shittake complex" ingredient it made me think of the latest CAGCasts on poop.

Quick post about the DLC issue. (Note, I also work for "one of the big two" publishers, so yea, I cannot see the consumer anymore and all I do is follow The Man(tm))

Valve and Capcom are on two different platforms with two different issues.

Capcom/Consoles have one major problem: People reselling their game. How they solve this? They charge them a small fee for DLC so that every resold game is not a loss on their part.
Valve however is a PC game maker, and they don't have the reselling problem at all. If you buy a game of steam you can't resell it. The main issue on PC is piracy. They solve this by giving people who buy the game something every now and then that you will not get if you pirate the game.

In a far flung future, where you won't get to play your game online, can't earn achievements, other people won't be able to play with you co-op unless you buy a game first hand, then DLC will not become the horse that needs to pay for all the second hand sales. Maybe then everything will be better.

I never seen anyone overdose from Marijuana. So it can't be that bad.

Is Cheapy going to talk about the Pizza Guy on the next CAGcast. I read a twitter that says he got back in touch with Cheapy after all these months.

Hey all. i am a new listener and instantly loved the show and even though they are out of date, i am listening to even the old shows for pure entertainment. Wombat is super funny but after the purchase of RE5 i found out that Sheva introduces herself as the way that Chris addresses her in the game. i do agree with you, it is very annoying to someones name mispronounced. over all though great show i love every minute of it. keep up the good work. Peace
