Oh god that Atari commercial at the end brought back bad memories. That girl in the commercial I wanted to hurt badly for being so "Tubulor!!" then. I just want hurt her even worse now!

Otherwise great show.

I stopped listening when you guys trashed my favorite site Kotaku. Time to go blast CAG on myspace. ;)

Now that I have a PSP again and can listen to RSS feeds, I like to drain my battery once a week listening to the show. I just recently started listening to the show, but I have them all DLed I believe on iTunes. I liked the unorganized show last week. Good show and keep up the good work.

I thought Ray's was "Original"

@Brain Age
"Blue"...seems to work better if you emphasize the "BL" sound
Letters and numbers seem to recognize better if write them in one stroke

but yeah Brain Age in fact does the opposite it seems to make me feel like a dumbass.

@Gamerdaddy
cause 400 dollars wasn't enough...only reason I got one was because I wanted to play DOA4, otherwise the library doesn't have anything that says "BUY ME"

@4 Swords
::raises hand:: I can actually accomodate 4 players in 4 swords...getting 4 friends is a different issue

Ha ha, CheapyD gave his own show a 5. This week's show was ok. If you need another place that tells what games are coming out each week I think you should use the one at next-gen.biz . Also no more oblivion; I'm now tired of hearing about it.

Regarding Cheapy's prediction that there will be no playable PS3 games at E3:

the developer commented that the game (Warhawk) would be playable at the event, meaning there will be PS3 kiosks on the show floor.

As for the CAGcast, it was a little too long since it was filled with 40 minutes of Oblivion talk. You two should make a seperate Oblivion podcast if you're going to talk about it so much. I really think the structured CAGcasts are much better than unstrctured. Doing a little research before the show can add a lot to the show. Why bother doing the show if you're not going to prepare for it?

CAGCast is great, never stop! thieves guild quests are like the thief games, splinter cell: oblivion without the killing

btw wombat what does your character look like?

That's not fair...i timed it...it was less than 6 minutes.
Maybe it just seemed like 40.

It was too much to me when I thought you guys had moved onto a new topic and found out you were still on Oblivion.

Despite the long time, it didn't seem like there was a lot of content and it seemed like you guys weren't really into doing the show this week.

I don't believe there was any talk about Advent Children or OutRun 2006.

As for places to find games being released each week, GameSpot has an interesting new look to their release date schedule.

If I can endure literally years of hearing people yap about Final Fantasy VII, then certain people can endure 5 minutes of Oblivion a week.

Also Cheapy, as for a Daedric artifact to give Martin, I would go with Azura's Star (the reusable grand sould gem) or the Savior's Hide from the Hircine quest (especially if you prefer Heavy Armor to Light Armor). There's also a mace and hammer that are easy to part with if your a blade character. I would tell you to give him the Masque of Clavicus Vile from the Deadric quest of the same name, but thats the one that freezes 99.9% of peoples game (which sucks because you have to complete all the other 14 Daedric quests to do the 15th) making it impossible to do the last one until Bethesda does a patch.

Speaking of which, why don't they release that instead of a bunch of add on shit? I still say the Wizards Tower is the coolest building or house in the game, but the fact that it always rains up there is bullshit.

With regards to Brain Age, if you hold the DS about 1 foot away, it picks up "blue" better. Supposedly the mic is very sensitive. Doing it the old way where I was screaming into the DS mic got me 15+ "incorrect" answers and a brain age of 84 years old. When I held the DS farther away, it messed up 2 or 3 times and cut my brain age to 47.

Or you could just pick the "I can't talk" option and do the three mini-games instead of that broken color word game. I did that and my brain age is now 24.

Thanks, I wound up giving martin some lame ring from the "bad personality" shrine.

Also, I did manage to get a good/clear view from the Wizard's Tower once.
Once.

Those of you who think the CAGcast is too long should try listening to Dual Screen Radio, a DS-focused podcast. They clock in at about three hours, and believe me, you feel every minute of it. But they do occasionally provide some worthwhile info and they tell you more than you'd ever want to know about some import titles.

Even at an hour plus, the CAGcast feels positively brisk by comparison.

Towards the end, Wombat mentions Cheapy possibly getting free game at E3 from Microsoft. Have you guys ever thought about doing a review of the week based on actual gameplay of a new or relatively new game. It would probably be hard to get "free" games from developers, but you could always rent one, play it for a little while and give an unbiased review. Apparently, Wombat doesn't have any time for this because he always uses the excuse that he has a day job.

It's not that the length was too long, just that for the amount of content, it certainly could've been 10-15 minutes shorter.

lol i wish it was 40 minutes, that was fun

For the next Cagcast. All I can say is.........

WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

^yeah, seriously. It almost warrants an emergency CAGcast, or at least a CAG bulletin.

I'm so depressed. This was the only console I was looking forward to, and now I'll be a wiitard playing with my wiimote.

This is the only talk show I listen to/watch on a constant basis. Cheapy D is like a charismatic Mr. Clean and Wombat cracks me up a good amount.

hey cheapy,
I work as an intern for a company that monitors web use pretty heavily and podcasts are pretty much the only ok thing to do online, I just wanted you and wombat to know that at least once a week you guys make my day less tedious and i dont care if you guys have a 3 hour discussion about oblivion, to me the 1 hour show is too short! or maybe you guys could do more podcasts, or different podcasts for different things... like one for news and one for reviews and one for you and wombat to just talk about whatever you guys want! i'd listen to all of em!

So I'm playing Geometry Wars, listening to this podcast, when I hear the whole Teamxbox/Gun set-up. I almost dropped the controller, totally incredulous, as I knew what was coming. Needless to say, I played like s*** the rest of the way. F***. Why is that talkback still so high on Google?

Well, yeah, that's me whose post you read. While I plead "Guilty" to having accused you guys of succumbing to the charms and whatnot (and maybe a little black-and-white spiral machine spinning while the Activision rep went "Whrr-rr-rr") of your hosts at that affair, I want to address this specific passage:

Man, publishers and console makers get their hooks into everyone in the end, don't they? Even the losers who stand to gain nothing from being pathetic console fanboys. Yes, you. (Well, maybe you. 2-in-3 chance I'm talking about you.)

The "fanboys" and "losers" are unequivocally the other posters on that site, NOT the both of you. That's pretty obvious based on the way it's phrased. "Even the losers who stand to gain nothing", i.e. said posters who cannot physically bring themselves to type anything even mildly critical of the console they've pointlessly sworn allegiance to AND will never receive even a "Good show!" from Peter Moore. You're NOT a "pathetic console fanboy", Wombat.

So again, I'm a conspiracy freak, but I root for guys like you two to AVOID the various temptations that I'm (relatively) sure the publishers dangle in the media's faces from time to time (read: every opportunity). And the fact that I'm responding to what I heard on the podcast tells you that I am explicitly NOT a hater. I'm just, um, grumpy (i.e. not jolly), especially when I sense the makers of a piece of mediocrity going into hyper-hyperbolic mode.

So, I'm here to take the beating I (mostly) deserve. I sure learned my "lesson". Fire away, CAGgers.

P.S. I trust those from NYC probably know the source of my screen name.

I have to say I've checked out 5 or 6 gaming podcasts and this is the only one I've listened to more than 1 or 2 times.

Cheapie is more the straight man while Wombat does the color.

I think you guys just have the right attitudes. You're not trying too hard to be funny or taking yourselves too seriously.

I think your voices contrast well. IT's easy to tell who's talking.

And I like that you guys have a format that you follow and you do a good job of working your way thru it without it feeling forced.

I think that about hits it on the nose. It drives me nuts when other podcasts act like video games are the end-all be-all of human existence. You guys are both married, you have lives, you approach games with a casual but respectful attitude, and you offer sensible opinions. I feel like you're only talking about this stuff because you genuinely enjoy it, not because you have to. I appreciate that.

BTW, I nearly ran over a jogger because I was laughing so hard at the "love knife" bit. Sometimes, I miss my days of covering E3 (1999-2001), but I certainly won't miss the sight of sweaty 350 lb. guys and with their arms wrapped around a Lara Croft clone while their buddies snap pictures.

Jollydwarf, don't you dare apologize. Not only do I think your post on teamxbox had merit, I appreciated to the point that I will be more careful in the future. You certainly don't deserve any beating. If anything, you deserve a handshake.

I just relistened to that segment and yes, we realized that the losers comment wasn't directed at us.

To everyone else that posted feedback, thanks!
When I asked Womat (via IM) if he had read the positive things in this thread he responded, " i noticed, almost too nice. are we getting fired?"
"are we getting fired?"
You will be fired if you keep talking about Oblivion. I mean, geez, if you are gonna talk about RPGs at least pick a good one like WoW.

Well, let me put it this way...Remember when Joe Pesci becomes a "made" man in Goodfellas? :whistle2:$

It's not like 360 owners have another game to play so cut them some slack. ;)

I'm playing G.R.A.W.

Booya!

Haven't had time to listen to this one yet. Just wanted to say CONGRATS on CAGcast number 27. Quite impressive indeed.

I enjoyed the ones I listened to, but haven't gotten around to listening some of the later ones.

I am waiting to kill my PSP battery! When will I get to hear all of the things I have to be told to think about and like?
