Kinda felt like you guys phoned it in a bit this week, though I just assumed that was because there wasn't THAT much going on in gaming news. Sure, there is the Playstation announcement...of a Playstation announcement. Surprised you guys didn't mention anything about the impending trailer debut for something tomorrow, the one that was kinda God of War-y, and just said "Game On - 2/1/13".
Honestly, I kinda get where you are coming from as to which console I'm going to buy. It's really going to come down to launch titles, price, and controller for me. As of right now, this instant, I'm probably going to get the Nextbox or whatever the hell they are going to call the damn thing. I'm not saying that to start a fanboy war, because I'm not opposed to the PS3. I would love to get one, if they could justify me getting it. I've tried the controller in the kiosks in Target and Game Stop, I just didn't like how it felt in my hand. Even the PS2 I have, I never use the original Dualshock that came with it. I bought a Logitech wireless that is a little bulkier and fits better in my hand, similar to the 360 controller. If Sony can get some games out that I would be interested in, something other than JRPGs and shooters, maybe I'll consider buying one. If I have to drop $900 on one at launch (yes, an exaggeration), forget about it. Same goes with Xbox, though. If the only thing I can buy for it at launch are COD, Halo (I'm a fan of single player Halo only, never been a multiplayer fan of anything), and Gears, I'll wait on a price drop, or something good to come out for it. If Fable IV and Dragon Age III are coming out at launch, and it doesn't cost an ungodly amount, I might consider buying it at launch. That said, I'm still of the opinion that we will not see either one of them launch this fall. Fall 2014, definitely. This year? Nope. I'd believe that there will be an announcement about them both this year, no doubt, just not a launch.
I am glad to hear you guys agree with my thoughts that any games released at the very least this fall, maybe over the next couple years will, indeed, be cross-generational. That gives me hope that I might very well be able to play Dragon Age III this year. lol
