Yes, new CAGcast to fill the emptiness in my heart left by the shipwrecks...

Nice surprise at 1:48 in the morning, now I won't be able to sleep for the next hour and a half, can't be good for the presentation I have to give tommorow

Woah, Nice Mrs. Cheapy guest role, Nice to hear a third person again

I too am dissapointed by the abscence of the ships this week but Wombat n cheapy will save the day. BTW I thought Zelda PHG was the most boring game since Mario is missing....

I think PHG is great, of course, but I wonder what Wombat has to say about this exclusively stylus controlled adventure.

YES!!! I was hoping you were going to post the cagcast and not just the GameQuestDirects deals.
Now I have something more to listen to for the drive down to LA for NewEggLanFest!!!
Thank you cheapy.

Here's a question for you. With the security armour, and the terminals now available in Halo 3, who will have the rights to those, and ergo, will Bungie be able to produce another Marathon game?

EDIT: Of course, this is under the assumption of the rumour being true. xD

Cool. Tagged and all that.

I didn't like the Folklore demo. I kinda knew right away that the game wasn't for me, which means the demo served it's purpose. Conversely, I did enjoy the Eternal Sonata demo and lo and behold I am enjoying the full game. Demos rule. :p

Sounds like CAG was kicked out under the 'Lowest price guarantee' blacklisting tickbox. After all, the whole reason this site existed was to share deals.

Speaking of tv shows, people have to start watching "The Big Bang Theory" on CBS at 8:30. It is really hilarious. Any nerd must watch this show!

Wombats comment about porno on bluray raises an interesting point.

The war between VHS and Beta was actually won because the porn industry chose the VHS as their media of choice. So fingers crossed for some sweaty flesh in 1080P!

Long live Bluray

hi def isn't the best thing for porn. do you really need to see every skin imperfections/blemish of your favorite porn star?

Crappy dvd quality is almost too much now days.

O Yes I do, I do indeed. Maybe Hi-Def will push porn studios to create better looking stars? Who knows.

Cheapy, After reading around It seems like you could have played folklore wrong. Reading on GAF it seems like you can switch between the characters after every level. So thus not having a 6 hour repeat.

You should try this and let us know if that is true.

I listened to the show today while in my University's library and got some odd looks when I laughed at Wombat's Link impressions. VERY FUNNY! Those little impressions are now my error sound for windows. Great show.

I think the PS3 not being backwards compatable at all is bogus. Software backwards compatability isn't something that can be turned off. It's something that comes in firmware upgrades for later models from now on. So, I don't think it's even possible.

Since Wombat is moving into a new house soon, does that mean Wombat will make a House unlocking video soon to counter Cheapy's PS3 unboxing video? Although not necessarily gaming, it would be...interesting to say the least.

VHS winning had more to do with longer recording times and cheaper devices.

congrats to Wombat on the new home!

btw Cheapy, that gay manga is spelled yaoi. i knew some girls who were really into it. >.

There is no way that Sony would jack their largest potential audience on playing PS2 and PSx games. Although, I think the 'no backward compatability' refers to the PS3s being EMOTIONless, and unable to play ALL PS2 and PSx games (because the software updates are for a few games each week).

And I highly doubt they would create a special set of updates for people getting jacked for backwards compatability.

btw Cheapy, thanks for the Folklore review with Mrs. Cheapy, i'm gonna wait for more reviews before i decide if i'll get it. this is the first time i heard Mrs. Cheapy's voice so that was cool. ^^

Yaoi is a form of hardcore, gay manga, yes. Many a times they are based upon anime series. I know this because more of my female friends are very into that kind of crap. Of course, I found it quite disgusting.

Just some info for ya!

Great show this week Cheapy & Wombat! Wombat Congrats on the house.

Agree with you on there being waaay too many SKU's for each console. This is getting out of hand. The 360's tiered price drop created new price breaks going from Core 300/Premium 400/Elite 480 to 280/350/450. By not cutting $50 off straight across all sku's they push people to the lower priced models and hope to sell $180 HD's. Now some have HDMI, some have the Falcon, this is really a nightmare for consumers.

Sony seems to have no idea what they are doing with their iterations, different HD capacity (both larger and smaller), no backward compatibility, ugh. What a cluster fuck.

And one Wii laughing all the way to the bank... ;)

Great show, fellas. I really enjoyed Wombat's Phantom Hourglass impressions. I was already enjoying the game, but his enthusiasm just made me that much more excited to play more tonight. And yes, it is a shame the way Nintendo treated Chibi Robo.

I find it amusing that the Mountain Dew Game Fuel commercials imply that, while playing Halo, you are likely to hear expressions of dismay in a myriad of International languages, when in reality, all you're likely to hear is a 13 year old detailing for you the size, appearance, and sensation of occupying your mother's genitals.

But I feel the same way about loudmouthed Halo devotees as I do about the guys who drive vanity trucks, use laser pointers at movie theaters, or call into sports talk radio shows: Seems like an awful lot of fuss just to compensate for a small penis.
hi def isn't the best thing for porn. do you really need to see every skin imperfections/blemish of your favorite porn star?
Yeah, some of those rashes they get are already too detailed. I don't really want to see the picture any clearer than it already is right now. Also, I don't see the need for it. How many multi-disc porns are there? Not many by my count.

I have seen some HD-DVD porn for sale too. So, there's really no telling what is going to happen within the porn industry.

It intrigues me to see Bluray fail because I want to see what Sony would do next. At this juncture, I don't care for either format.
It's still a 6 hour repeat, even if you cut into 1 hour chunks.

Cheapy,

If you're worried about paying those extra monies on them, you could always turn on your Japanese Wii (IF you still have it; I don't know) and download them at their regular prices. Super Mario Bros. the Lost Levels (Real SMB 2) is pretty much a must purchase no matter the cost or difficulty. Sin & Punishment is a little more hairy, but it's solid from what I hear.

Besides, they're basically new titles to most of us and we're willing to pay for it.

well, even the 80 gig models don't do pure software compatibility, they still have the ps2 graphics chip in there and that gets you what something like 75% if they take that out too i don't know what that'll do to their back compatibility.

I wish I could hear this episode.....for some reason when I try to download the file, it only downloads the intro. Any help? thanks!

Just hearing the part about Folklore part really turned me off. That's even worse than playing for 6 hours without saving then dying. I really like strategic-card-game-like action games, but just the fact mentioned in the CagCast alone is a bust for me.

I wonder if the Jericho demo was region locked because of the violance and them not wanting to worry about going through Japan's review process?

>>>Not done with show yet, but I'll say I really like it so far.
I listened to the show today while in my University's and got some odd looks when I laughed at Wombats Link impressions. VERY FUNNY! Those little impressions are now my error sound for windos. Great show.
I'm listening to this thing at home at 1:30 AM and I busted out laughing at Wombat's impressions - first time ever in 20-30 CAGcasts. :applause:

Congrats in advance on the baby, Cheapy. We just found out that my wife may be induced early (due to the potential size of the baby and the fact that our last one was 11 lbs ;)). So we'll probably be having ours in the very beginning of Nov. In a few years they can play Halo 6 against each other ;).

Once again another great show.

I have a comment about Wombat's comment comparing DS versions with 360 versions. You say it the same concept, that people won't be able to tell the difference between versions. But with the DS people won't have to know the difference between DS and DS Lite because the DS fat is no longer available. This means there is nothing to confuse them. Where as the 360 has 4 different systems (core, premium, Halo edition, elite) and not to mention upcoming Best Buy bundles. I think buying a 360 is a much confusing purchase compared to a DS (where you have to decide what color to get).

Hey Wombat, Even though your humor is the main reason I listen to the show every week, Whatever you do, don't quit your day job to be a vocalist. Stick to the guitar.

The thing I don't understand is, Super Mario Brothers: The Lost Levels has already seen a domestic release here in the US on the Super Nintendo game Mario All-Stars. I'm not sure why the game warrants an extra fee now, when many of us played and beat the game well over a decade ago.

It has, but it hasn't. That version has prettier graphics and a more dynamic soundtrack, but that's about it. People have wanted the original for a long time, and now we do.

I've played it, but I've never beaten it because it's probably one of the top 25 most difficult games of all time.

btw, i have the super mario all-stars for the SNES and i didn't bother playing it. not worth the hassle and frustration
