Jets send:
CB Revis 96 OVR, Age: 28
- 1 year left at $8 mil (no bonus) for 2013
Bengals send:
WR Hill 80 OVR, Age: 22
- 3 out of 4 years left of $3 mill contract (no bonus) - $630K for 2013, $820K for 2014, $1.07Mil for 2015
LOLB Lawson 86 OVR, Age:
- 5 out of 5 years left of $35 mill contract ($5 mill bonus) - $4.31 mil for 2013, $5.31Mil for 2014, $6.6 Mil for 2015, $8.28 Mil for 2016, $10.5 Mil for 2017
Jets reasoning: I need a WR and a fast OLB to help stop the outside run which killed me. Plus Revis is on his last year and I'd like to free up cap space to sign some more FA since I am short on total players and depth.
Bengals reasong: well i have pretty good offense now and with adding revis my DB will be great i know i have no Lolb after doing this deal but i can pick one up in FA i dont real ever have my LOLB on the field so trading them really means nothing to me. and i dont really need Hill either to be honest i have cruz green and marvin who are good enough im sure lol. i already have 2 CBs that are 88 overall if i had revis people that want to pass on me have another thing coming adding him will put my defense overall the top and this defense is already amazing
Trade Rejected
This was rejected by every single person in the trade committee. This deal isn't even close. Even in the last year of his deal, the best CB in the game is worth WAY more than this. Lawson is a solid LB (whom you just signed), but nobody is drinking the Stephen Hill Kool-Aid. I can't even tell you what needs to be added to make this fair. Take this one back to the drawing board.
Jets send:
50th and 89th overall picks
Ravens send:
36th overall pick
Value of picks are pretty even (540 to 545) according to
http://www.draftcountdown.com/features/Value-Chart.php
The trade is contingent on specific players being available at the 36th overall pick
Trade Rejected (sort of...we didn't actually have a problem with the deal itself)
The committee really doesn't like the "contingency" side of this one. Some people felt that this is the risk of trading up in the draft...and that the deal either needs to be agreed to or not agreed to.
