Oh I see what ya'll are talking about now Haha I have 28 guys that say 1 year remaining. I didn't know you could check the team salary.
LMAO...thank you, dude. I needed that laugh today. At least you're aware of it now. Because yeah, anyone who isn't aware of it is going to lose at least like 1/3 of their team.
Should we put a moratorium on trades until after the re-signing period?
I was kind of thinking the same. I guess trades that involve players who aren't in the last year of their deals are ok. But at the same time, I would think it's going to be hard for people to really KNOW what's going to be a position of need until they get their roster hammered out a little more clearly.
For example, I'm losing 4 offensive linemen, 3 WRs, and both of my backup QBs. I was only aware of about 3 of those. So, my plan of attack has changed a little bit, and I can't even swear that I'm going to be in a position to trade (or even sign) Kenny Britt anymore. To me, considering what's in store for us, it might be too early to be thinking that far ahead.
so to be clear we will have a chance to sign all the players that are leaving that aren't supposed to be (or at least will have a 12-24 hour window?).
Yeah, for sure. We'll do whatever needs to be done to make sure things are reasonable. I know for certain that the first week (in game time) after the Super Bowl is your exclusive time to negotiate with your own free agents. The week after that, it opens up for everyone.
So, as was mentioned earlier, you're going to get one chance at offering your players contracts, and after that, they'd be open to other teams making offers as well. The general idea was to allow 24 hours for EACH week of the offseason to try to accommodate everyone and their work/personal schedules...which I still think is the most fair way to do it.
What we COULD do, considering the circumstances is to transform that first week of open negotiations into a 2nd week of restricted negotiations. That would leave 2 weeks of open negotiations after that. Not sure if people would like that idea, as it would give everyone a bit of an advantage in re-signing their own players...but at the same time, some might think that's fair.
Can't wait to walk into this shitstorm tonight lol...
N8, will you be online tonight to assign the Dolphins to me right away? Wanna get some work done on them tonight.
Yup, definitely. I can't say when or exactly how long I'll be able to get on. But I'll make sure that you and our new Falcons owner are both invited, and that we're ready to begin the offseason process...or at least as ready as we can be, haha.
