CAGLS: Madden 13 Gentlemen's League - We Finished! Thanks for Playing!
Had an office holiday party last night and didn't get back until late. No need to make any special arrangements for me though. I'm sure I can manage. My biggest problem will be not knowing who was on the Rams last year and who I have first dibs at. I just don't know this team very well yet. I don't think there's anything that says who their former team was (could be wrong on this).
You can resign players from the website FYI.

Can you sign on to the website? I'm pretty sure jza did resignings from the computer.

FYI, I've resigned the one player I was interested in retaining. I likely won't be participating in the Round 1 that is being planned.

Question though: At what point are we reopening trades? Because it would be nice to know if my trade is approved so I know how much money I have to spend in free agency.

I believe it'll be when we advance to the next round of offseason stuff tonight.

i agree plus our trade isnt even part of the reason why trades are frozen and if the trade gets denied we have to wait evne longer to figure things out
Can you sign on to the website? I'm pretty sure jza did resignings from the computer.
Yeah the only things is you have to look at every players profile and click on actions to see if they can be resigned. It can take a while though.

Also be careful. When you go to to do it, if a guy wants a 4 year, 20 million deal, the site enters 20,000,000 for the guys annual salary.

i wonder if u use the site if u can resign players on there that u cant on the xbox it would be weird but i wouldnt put it past ea sports lol

No.

damn it i was hoping that could fix problems guess not im thinking we have thought of about everything of ways to fix it when ea makes a mess they cover all ways of fixing it lol
Well, that solves that problem! Thanks.
No problem. Like I said, you have to look through each player. Click on their player card, select profile and on the next screen, where it shows you stats and such, select player action at the top. It will usually say "set as tradeable" or "release player" but if you can resign them it will say that as well.

Yeah, it'll be tonight once we see who is actually a free agent. I get what you guys are saying, but you have to understand, the committee has all these proposals coming at us, and they're incredibly hard to evaluate when there is this much going on.

For that matter, a trade that we had already reviewed and approved had to be replanned once DVO learned he didn't have the cap space to make it. We're just trying to cut down on redundant work here.
On the block.

Champ Bailey CB (89 OVR) (95 MAN, 88 ZONE, 95 PLR)
Knowshon Moreno HB (78 OVR) (86 SPD, 92 ACC)
Joel Dressen TE (71 OVR) (84 CTH, 81 RTR)

Looking for draft picks. Maybe a corner to replace Bailey.
Bumping this back up. I think a lot op people missed it in the haze. But not this haze.
256px-Haze_boxart.jpg
No one got lost in that haze for sure.

lol that wasntm y fault n8 ea took 12 mill out of my cap space for some odd reason. but i get wut ur saying here.
jza we could do the trades online tonight thru the website tonight u will just have to teach me how to put trades thru the website if it does end up passing that is
Madden is weird. If I release players that I have declined not to sign and will be free agents, it actually clears cap room.
that is weird for sure

Any idea if it looks like these guys are asking for more than they would in-game? Steve Smith for 7~ mill seems like a hell of a lot, considering SJax makes that much money and he's the star of the team.

You can also propose the trade on the console and he can accept it on the website.

No I checked both just to be sure regarding some guys. It's the same.

Anyone interested in RT David Diehl? 84 overall, 77 Pass Block, 81 Run block, 88 strength, has one year remaining (2013) at just under 5 million.

I have to say its pretty stupid that I cannot see what draft picks I have or another team has in all rounds. I want to make trades but can't find this information.
No I checked both just to be sure regarding some guys. It's the same.
Hah! I may have read Smith's wrong though. 7 million over 3 years... Though 2 and change million seems pretty cheap for him. He's only rated in the mid/high 70s though. I may have just overpaid by 3x. :applause:

my console has trades blocked on it right now is urs different kaster?

also last night i signed CB J allen overall 81 to a deal last night looked in salary and he was all straight new contract posted and everything went in just now and his contract is back to 1 year remaining and the salary didnt come back to my team when it changed his contract. N8 will i get automatic dibs on this guy since i already signed him once and took a cap hit from it. im not sure wut caused this. Uber didnt we have this happen to a few others in the other league i cant quite remember for sure

just making this list of guys that are on my teams that i need to sign so once we advance no one question its

FB Pressley
CB Allen
LE Dunlap
DT Atkins
LT Collins
SS Mays

So im looking at my team and I can't believe I'm about to franchise a punter (I know teams have done it in real life, still seems weird) but Lechler is a valuable part of my team considering how much I punt. He led the league in punts, yards, net yards, and second in average punt distance. Can't afford to replace him right now.

If you go to the trade menu, the drop down thing where you can change position shows you what picks you have under "Picks"

I THINK I FIGURED IT OUT EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MUST READ THIS

hmmm so jza i just tried wut u did and cut players that denied contracts with me and when i cut them they said i would save money thru cutting them but before i cut them it i checked my current cap space balance in team salaries then once i cut them went to see if it changed and nothing did so thoughs guys fake contract werent actually on the book must be part of the ea mess up

but then i did some more things like i went to players that said they had one year that werent in my resign area and when i went to cut them it said i would save this much but would get a cap penalty of however much then i would cancel. so im thinking or atleast hoping that if a cap penalty pops up thats means there still actually signed unless of course they didnt have a bonus in there contract but everyone that need to be signed didnt have bonuses shouldnt be hard to figure this part out at all

then from there i cut a player on my team that i didnt want on the team becuz hes getting over paid so i cut him and when i cut him the money i cut him for to save actually shows in the team salaries. im thinking i might be on to something but not 100% sure yet but the guy i cut had 3 years left on his deal not 1 but morfe than 1 i did that to make sure how things would work

might be on to more i went to team needs and after cutting all the players that wouldnt resign with me i went to team needs to check on the expiring contract section of team needs and i have zero expiring contracts which means everyone i have with 1 year still should be good to keep until the next offseason. everyone else should check this out and see if it the same for them as well that way if all this that i have found holds any grounds and we have enough people to help back this up as all true we might have found a way to fix the off season confusion for good in this league as well as the other league. like bv said we have the chance to take care of this and better prepare and i think if we find anything we should 100% for sure pass the knowledge but we wont know for sure unless everyone tries this or atleast 4 or 5 others

I can't even get to the trade menu on the game, it's not something I can select. I can only select roster, progress players, injury report and depth chart.

Try going to the website and make a trade.

Just to be on the safe side, I'm making a list of my one year remaining, no resign option players. This is predominately for my benefit though. Just need a place to find it just in case.

LE Andy Tracy
RG Mitch Petrus
FB Henry Hynoski
LG Kevin Boothe
DT Linval Joseph
C Jeff Cordle
WR Hakeem Nicks
RT David Diehl
LE Justin Tuck
ROLB Michael Boley
CB Corey Webster

I must be an idiot because I can't even figure out where to do this at. I've looked all over the site and clicked on all links in it.

I am disappoint. I'm sure a lot of guys at work didn't click on your spoiler because they were expecting this haze.

Isn't it incredible that we're all racking our brains this hard and wasting so much time trying to figure out something that should have required no thought at all? It's like we're trying to cure cancer in here. Just get shit right, EA! Jesus!

4 years at 2.2 mil for a 32 year old fullback? Am I missing something. Sounds like crazy money for someone who's a dime a dozen and only used on a few plays. Even if Polite is a 88 ovr.

Make sure you look at the fine print. It probably says 2.2 mil OVER 4 years, or 550k a year. So your total contract should come out to 2.2 and match his number across from it. (Assuming you're doing this from the web). I failed to do this for Steve Smith and he just got a 4-5 million dollars/year raise. Might have to ask n8 if I can cut him and pick him up as a FA and go back to trying to resign him next offseason--assuming I'm reading this all correctly.
Kurt Warner stats:

OVR 86
Throw Power 90
Short throw 98
Medium throw 95
Deep throw 91
Play action 87
Awareness 97
But he's coaching the Rams!! These storylines don't add up haha. Unless... player/coach. I like Bradford a lot, but man, Warner would be fun. Might have to make an offer on him in Round 2.

Oh and if you're curious who is likely coming off the books for you and can't get on your Xbox and don't want to click through every single player, try: http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/st.-louis-rams/yearly/

I just did that for the Rams and it seemed to work. Madden doesn't seem to take into account restricted free agents, so just assume those guys are off the books. And then obviously any guys with one year left you might want to double check, but at least you can rule out all of the lengthy deals.

So when it says 4 year / 2.2 mil Its 2.2 mil over 4 years? Not atleast 2.2 mil a year?
There was supposed to be, but EA never got around to it.
It will probably come out next month. You know, because EA is so timely.
