Jeff Demps, HB, 42 OVR, 2Yrs, 1M left. Age 22 (67OVR in my Scheme)
The reason I am doing this is to get an all star return man, so I don't have to start my star wide receiver back there. I am probably over paying for him, but I think he is worth it.
He has zero CBs and needs a starter. I've got 2 up and coming RBs and I'm in desperate need or a TE.
(Turners OVR was actually 96 when I put it in the correct scheme)
Trade Rejected
Sorry to say it, but really not much changed here. The committee recognized that Turner's OVR is higher under a different scheme, but that just raised the question if you could say that for all the players involved (Davis especially). Ultimately, what was focused on here was age and contract. Turner is older than Davis and only has one year left on his deal while Davis is locked up for the next few seasons.
Because of this, several people still felt that more needed to be going back to the Colts. If you guys want to supplement with a draft pick or another player (didn't get any actual suggestions from the committee though...but I did ask to include what would even out the trade if they disapproved) and resubmit, you're welcome to do so. I'm trying to work this one out for you guys. I think people just really see the value in a TE like Davis.
One other thing is I think people are growing weary of the "in my scheme" reasoning. It makes OVR's so hard to really gauge, at some point they start to feel useless. Honestly, I'm not even totally sure what benefits schemes serve. It's my understanding that a player gains XP more quickly if he's in the right scheme. Is that right? Otherwise, all it changes is OVR...which just makes things more confusing.
Really, I'd like to have proposals list the key attributes depending on the position of the player, but I feel like people would argue what "key" actually means. Really wish EA would have just left OVR alone...not that it's the be all end all of evaluating trades. But it at least provides a base to start from.
