Trade Rejected
I'm really going to ask that these trades be thought through a little better. After the unanimous rejection of the first proposal, it was asked that deal be reworked. Within 10 minutes, a new proposal was submitted adding 3 draft picks and an 80s rated CB. This kind of swayed the committee to the other side, thinking it's TOO MUCH for one year of Revis.
The problem we have here is it starts to feel like things are just being thrown at the wall to see what will go through. It doesn't feel thought out at all, based on the time between proposals and the huge swing in value. Nobody has a problem with the Jets trading Revis to free up that money to sign other players, and no one has a problem with the Bengals acquiring Revis. But these proposals just feel incredibly rushed, and really no one on the committee has expressed any level of comfort with them.
Seriously, I'm asking everyone to give your proposals some thought. This should be about what works for your team...not just whatever it takes to get a player. Some of the negotiations I've had with people have spanned several days and 8-10 PMs of offers and counter offers. I don't feel like that's what we're seeing with some of these trades.
