CAGLS: Madden 13 Gentlemen's League - We Finished! Thanks for Playing!
ya but if hes hurt how are u suppose to get xp with the guy? plus injury cost for a RB isnt cheap either and i highly doubt best has superstar development.
I promise you, nobody on the trade committee is going to be dumb enough to believe that Best is anything less than an absolute beast in Madden. I had him when I took over the Jets for uber in the other league last year, and he's capable of basically everything Chris Johnson is capable of if you know how to use him. He's right there with the Noel Devine, Jeff Demps, etc type of back that we rewrote the trade proposal structure because of. He can't get injured if you can't catch him.

And as I've said before, from what I've read on various forums this year, toughness is actually what determines whether or not a player gets injured. Injury rating affects the length of that injury. If anybody can speak to whether or not that's true, that's fine. But that's been my understanding of the way it works.

I know Best is pretty good but you definitely shouldn't be comparing him to Chris Johnson. If they are gonna act like he is some superstar player I wouldn't take him. I don't understand why you are trying to trade a running back for another that is similar. Maybe you should try a powerback or a committee of powerback/speedback(what I do).

Toughness determines an injured player's rate of recovery and Injury determines how easily the player gets injured.

I don't know what Best's INJ and TGH ratings are in this game, but I imagine they are both low if they are true to real life.
injury 67 toughness 78. not to good at all.
I'd keep Spiller and sub in a powerback over picking up Best.

personally i wouldnt give up more than a 2nd round pick for best. he might be a "madden beast" but theres always the fact that a good defensive play and horrible run play called on offense means this dudes out for the season. i wouldnt put him up there with chris johnson at all or consider him chris johnson jr.
but thats just me but i also didnt think the bears/jets trade was very fair either i think the jets got the shaft on the trade. but im sure with that statement im sure to hear a few smart ass comments from someone.

Hater in the house. Seriously, though, while I thought the trade was fair (obviously), I was expecting to have to send in a revised version to satisfy the committee.

I know we were hard on your offers, but in terms of Madden play, you can't even pretend to compare Manny Lawson with Brandon Marshall.

Seriously. I was leaning toward having the Bears throw in a draft pick, but most of the committee didn't think it was necessary. Honestly, I think they were impressed with the fact that a game changer was going back to the Jets (Marshall) that it seemed fair enough. No one was impressed with the chicken scratch that had been offered for Revis previously.

thats not the part i had an issue with at all. the problem i had with it is the first rounder he had to send. i wouldnt compare lawson to marshall any day of the weak.

but i think my offer of lawson and hill and a 1st rounder getting told it wasnt enough wasnt fair at all.
since u sent briggs and marshall for revis and a 1st rounder just not seeing how thats found to be fair when mine wasnt not that i hold a grudge about it. i just dont see the reasoning it in. it just kind of feels like the good ole boy system in the committee and i know im not the only one in the league thats feels that way becuz i know alot of people dont even post in the thread as much becuz they feel wut they say opinion wise is just over looked.
and for anyone to say that hill isnt as good as i try and make him seem i never try to make him seem more than he was. and its all becuz his catch is a 79 which isnt great and i know but his CIT is an 85 spec is 94 route running is horrible but i never found that to be very important madden wise at all. his speed gets him open all the time so hes usually wide open when i throw him the ball and never drops it and he only has 120 yards less than aj green who ratings wise is alot better than him. but all i got out of that was hill is worth nothing to the trade.
during that trade process it just honestly felt like the committee was just trying to keep me from getting revis so someone else could get him. that just how i felt about it. but like i said im not gonig to make a big deal about it, its in the past. plus i dont think i could have resigned revis since i now have to many cap penalty problems which makes me want us to hurry and ge tthe regular season so i can see wut my cap space looks like before i try and trade for anyone else

im looking to scrim later tonight once the wife goes to bed after we get done watching our movie if anyone is interested pm me should be ready to go around 1030-11 central

That's where you're going to find disagreement with a lot of people (committee or otherwise). I think most people find route running to be pretty important. Convincing anyone otherwise is going to be a tough sell.

I never asked for the 1st rounder. The deal we originally agreed on was Peppers and Marshall for Revis and Dustin Keller, but after examining the money, he's tight on cap room and would be taking a big hit on Keller's bonus. So then he proposed the final deal of Briggs and Marshall for Revis and the 1st.

What's the deal with proposing trades in the game? I know when I traded with Tampa Bay, he proposed and I accepted and it went through okay. But I don't think the current trade went through yet. Is it because one of us has already played their game this week?
I will comment that I did feel the Jets were giving up too much by sending the 1st round as well. That's just my opinion though.
I thought that too after reading the deal. A 2nd rounder would have been more in line.

He should be on auto. He was just squatting the team, not joining. There is no way he would be joining as he is easily winning his division in the other league.
Just keep me on auto for the preseason. I don't think I'll be able to play any of the games.
Guess I don't have to schedule it then, I'll just play it right after advance so I can be done till the real season starts :)

That's me, I haven't been on either. Just checked the thread for the first time in 3 days myself. You can play my CPU.

It's not that I don't want to play, it's that I can't lol. Have family over, I'm sure the Xbox will be used tonight for some multiplayer games or to try out new games we got for Christmas.
Titans blank Giants 17-0.
Yeah, not a whole lot going on offensively in this one. Just a few plays made at the right times. I'm just happy I was able to find some time to play (and that my parents connection could handle the game), and that Rob was able to play then as well.

Also, I put the 49ers on autopilot, so GPninja should be good to play that game.

Bucs over the CPU Raiders 21-14:

Not a whole lot to write about in this one. The first string offenses traded TD's in the 1st quarter, McFadden ran it in for the Raiders and I answered with a with a 12 yard TD pass to my rookie slot WR Maurice Goss. Late in the 2nd quarter my backup TJ Yates found Mark Clayton who broke a tackle and took it 62 yards to the house making it 14-7 Bucs. In the 3rd quarter, momentum changed on a 3rd and 2 false start from my o-line...turning a run into a pass play that Yates threw an INT on. Raiders drove down the field and connected with their own rookie WR Jackson Burks for a 21 yard TD to tie it at 14. My defense held firm in the 4th quarter though and the offense had a great drive down the field converting on a couple 3rd downs including a beautiful slant to Todd Heap to move the chains. Ran it down their throat with Pierre Thomas after that and he broke the plain from a yard out with 16 seconds left to give the Bucs a 21-14 win.
So looking at some boxscores, I guess it's ok for starters to play the whole game?
I was wondering that too.
So looking at some boxscores, I guess it's ok for starters to play the whole game?
It might not be that. After the 1st quarter, the game just sort of sticks players wherever. Barrett Ruud is my 2nd TE when the backups are inserted. Brandon Marshall gets played in some formations at TE. Matt Forte is put in as the 5th WR after the starters come out. It's just weird like that.

Yeah, Doug Martin becomes my FB. Though I never use fb plays with him anyway

I'm not talking that, it's happened to me. I'm talking about starting quarterbacks playing the whole game.

Nice to see my rookie score.
Nice to see my rookie score.
I knew I was in trouble as soon as he caught it too, he was just outside the 10, and he easily won the footrace to the endzone before my safety could get him.
Six 4th down conversions. Huh.
No need to beat around the bush. Name names and lets call people out. This stuff obviously shouldn't be happening. Starting to feel like more of a prison league than a gentlemen's league.

From the stats houstan dallas arizona broncos packers and the 9ers are the only quarterbacks that have way more passing yards than the backups. I don't see much abuse most are 50/50 or 60/40

Some teams only have one qb like the giants or steelers.
