and when the whole switch teams came up u said it was cool if i did if most people where fine with it 3 said they didnt care and 1 said no and then from there u just killed it. not saying that me not switching teams matter anymore becuz i dont care but it did show me that u said there would be a vote and the votes went my way on switching and u still said no becuz one person said no. not trying to fight or causes problems so showing u how i feel in my point of view. that i honestly think if u dont likea trade and no one else cares but one u could just be like no trade
The reason switching teams was killed was because pitfallharry brought up the best point in the entire discussion. It was articulate and well thought out, and was immediately reinforced by others. He said:
It's one thing for DVO to switch, being the last pick, but it really screws shit up if someone towards the front of the line wants to switch. Had Dallas been available, I would've taken them, as would have many others.
Now, while his point defended you, it highlighted why switching teams just isn't fair. If it's ok for certain people to switch but not others, then how does that not come off as favoritism? Ultimately, the most fair thing to do is to not allow anyone to switch. It's not always about the majority. It's about who makes the best argument and making the right call.
If one person says "that's cool" and somebody else gives a thought out response of why they disagree that is longer than two words, I'm going to value that response a little more. pitfallharry pointed out something that I had not thought about, and it basically proved my line of thinking wrong. If that doesn't show you that I can think beyond my own opinions and take into account what other people are saying, then I don't know what to tell you.
If you can present a reasonable argument, of course, I'll consider it. But so far, the best you can come up with for having essentially no trade restrictions is that we all own a team, so therefore, none of us could possibly be objective about anything. And I'm sorry, but that's a load of crap.
