Laughing at a concussion in any case is classless but on a concussion suffered on a borderline cheap shot....pretty low. But clearly you were "dragged into" your comment right?

Laughing at any sports injury is pretty pathetic really, even if the guy is a douche (which Cutler is). I'm sure there are lots of people who enjoyed Vick's concussion too, those people are called turds, or pieces of shit if you prefer. Wishing ill on someone is really pathetic any way you look at it.

Of course the irony of the "#BearDown" comment in relation to that gif goes right over your head. No one's "laughing at a concussion", numbnuts. When you comprehend anything that I type, please let me know. I've got a cookie with your name on it.
As a huge Ravens fan, I will gladly take them. My gamer tag is KTrainThomas.
Awesome. You came along at the perfect time then. I"ll get you added to the OP and send you an invite in a little while. Your current opponent is the Chargers (shotgunshine). The last day to play that game is Tuesday. Hopefully you guys can work out a time to play on short notice. Otherwise, I'll have to let him play your CPU for this week. Glad to have you in the league though!

I'm not gonna lie, I laughed pretty hard when I saw n8 post that. I also love the fact that after he hits him he tries to "sneak" away all bouncy and pretty boy like LOL.

Nope I got it fine, still doesn't excuse using that one specific play as an example of the Bears losing that game. There are a million other pics/gifs you could've used to get your point across but you chose that being the classy guy that you are. You can defend your sleaze any way you want to but your constant bs doesn't pass by me. I know the guy you're arguing with is a tool (I said so earlier in this topic in fact) but you don't need to fight "tool with more tool" if that makes sense.

Shove the cookie I am done with this league. The people I played against were cool and it was fun while it lasted but I really can't stand the absolute tool running the show so I'm out. I thought going in to this thing I could deal with that but I just hate having to see your dumbass on a constant basis so I'm out.

LOL...he does! I didn't even notice that. He kind of "sashays" away after destroying Cutler, haha. That's hilarious!

Everybody else laughs at the joke...you act butthurt by it. Hmm...wonder where the issue lies. Seriously, we told the guy we were going to give him a hard time if/when the Bears lost. That's what happens when you talk a bunch of shit and puff out your chest like you're a bad ass. It's nothing to get so personally upset over. Other than being a Bears fan, I don't even know why you were involved in it. If you have issues with me, that's your own business. It's a stupid reason to drop from a league, but you're free to do whatever you want.

God there are some sensitive guys in this league. Just four years ago that hit would've been all over the TV saying how great it was(jacked up!). Now everyone is being a pansy about it and you're being just over the top sensitive about it. It was a big hit, it may not have been legal, and he may have suffered a concussion but he wasn't posting it making fun of the fact he was injured, it was to make fun of the previous hashtag that was used(beardown).

These football players know the risk that comes along with the game. I'm not going to feel especially bad about someone suffering a concussion. These guys choose to play this game and get paid excellent money.

Feel bad for the soldier overseas who suffers a concussion from a rock getting thrown at his head while earning 30k a year protecting your freedom. Not a football player making millions a year playing a game and being a douchebag half the time.

If you're going to give me a hard time make for the Bears losing st least let Cutler play the whole game. Besides one Texans drive where they drove the ball down our throat, we both were stopped by our defenses.

It was an ugly game in some terrible conditions.

Good gif though, it was kind of a cheap shot because the ball had already been thrown and it was a legal pass but hey you live with calls against you just like when they are for you. And haha "bear down" funny.....cuz he is a bear down hahahahaha....

But I do have a concern. He played another series after this hit and two more plays directly after the hit so I don't know what is really going on behind the scenes.

And please n8 don't come out with this whole "pump out your chest and act tough" about it type stuff. Before you deleted two pages worth of comments you would know that everything I ever wrote was written in context to the subjects being talked about.

Yes I said we'd eat alive the Texans and for the most part our D did. Unfortunately mother nature stopped both our offenses just as much as the defenses did.

Thank you n8.

Maybe I could see where "I pumped myself and acted tough" had you not gotten two pages worth of context on the subject deleted. Now you only quote part of something I wrote and made a gif about it. Nice. Douche.

Amigo you know you were backing the bears hardcore in this thread and anyone who was reading it knows that was for sure. You gave the Texans 0 chance to win, and then they did.

I'm with fsecreast on the fact that people are waaaay to sensitive in this league. It's a competitive game with competitive players and people are going to talk trash. To leave a league because you're butthurt over one of the commissioners posts is just retarded.

Also, why have any concern over Cutler playing ballin? Do you honestly think you are going to care about Cutler at all when he retires and has 0 rings because they pull him (and possibly baby him the next few weeks over concussion symptoms and this season disappears for the bears just like last year)? I'd rather have my QB play through the haze and get the team a super bowl. He's getting paid above and beyond what he deserves, he can worry about his health later, or retire.

I thought about something yesterday and I need someone to clarify the rule for me because the way i understand it, by rule, would not have been a hit to the head on a QB.

To my understanding if the QB passes the line of scrimmage, which by definition is his whole body over the line (does not state in anyway whether he is throwing or not), he then becomes a RUNNER and thus a hit to the head is fair game. Of course Im not saying he should do this but in looking at that play I believe dobbins made the right choice which was to light Cutler up as he believed he was going to run. Cutler had ran 2 plays previous up the middle and pump faked both times.

At the risk of rekindling hostilities can someone please set me straight? Why would it be a hit to the head if he was ruled passed the line of scrimmage?

ALSO, HUGE division rivalry game coming up between N8 and myself! I promise I will behave this time haha....but this could mean who wins the division!

I don't think I gave them 0% chance. I said if we lose we lose and I'd still be here and I am. I said we'deat them alive because I was talking smack in reply to others. If these pages weren't deleted then I could know what else was written. But we have Mussolini and Castro running this thread I guess so I can't see what else was said.

And yea I'm going to have concern on our QB. As a Bears fan we don't have much success with QBs so when we finally have a real good one I don't want him being lost for a season in a regular season game. Troy, you honestly sound like a non Cutler fan so I'm not sure I'll be able to reason with you. But any sensible fan would not want their QB playing through haze. No QB will win a Super bowl like that. And good comments on predicting the rest of the session or us. Do you have the Mega Millions numbers for tonight by the way? Since you know so much amigo.

I'm hoping when we get to that point everything is done asap, I don't really want the league to sit in limbo for awhile. I like the schedule and playing a game every couple days. If anything I wish we could move the league along at a little quicker pace.
You ready for the rivalry game? I'm stoked to see how it comes out!
Yeah, I just hope the game makes it fair for both teams. I don't want to see either team with multiple fumbles, dropped passes, or anything else that just dumbs it down to luck.

Chargers and Ravens end in a 14-14 tie. Both of our defense came through. His guys were beastly at getting to Rivers. I got sacked like 5 times..maybe more. I got lucky as he missed I think three field goals that would've won him the game. The last few weeks has been horrible for me as I just can't get my offense going. Ryan Mathews got hurt again late...was worried about that but it was just for the rest of the game. Eddie Royal got knocked out for five weeks though with a dislocated elbow.

I think i'm going to try to get a top receiver during the off season. My guys lately just seem like there having a harder time getting open. Antonio Gates is the only guy that can get open on a consistent basis.

Yeah but I hope we don't go too quick, I don't want to miss the draft with my work schedule (work nights Monday through Thursday). Especially since I'm gonna have a Top 10 pick. Wonder if you can draft/sign free agents from the web site.

Did we have a FA period? Or will we? I'm missing Danny Amendola on my team! :( I don't know if he's actually that great, but my WR group could certainly use the boost and the familiar name, and I saw he was in the FA pool.

I have feverishly been putting all of Spiller's earned XP to his carrying trait because that was the worst thing about him. Since I got him, in the first like 4-5 games he had at least one fumble per game, since then, 3 games now, I dont think he has fumbled yet on a run (he did muff a punt against Detroit though)

Im stoked, and again HOW THE HELL IS MARK SANCHEZ leading on the pro bowl voting for QB in the AFC? Im guaranteed to throw a few pics your way N8, no worries! haha

Good defensive struggle. Ended up missing 4 field goals total. 2 were just too long for Nick Folk and I think I got iced on the other 2. One to win in regulation and the other to win in OT. I thought Folk had a stronger leg, but I guess he is only 88 KPW. Ill be starting Tucker from now on as he is a bit stronger. Ray Rice ran strong for 170 yards, but couldn't get into the end zone. 100 yards receiving and 2 tds for Torrey Smith early on, but couldn't get anything done in the 2nd half.

So what are the rules on going for it on 4th and short instead of attempting a long(50+) field goal? I have seen NFL coaches do this sometimes if they don't think they can make the field goal and wouldn't gain much by punting.

Yeah, it will definitely be reasonable. More than likely, some people will think it's too slow and some people will think it's too fast. So, I figure I'll get pounded from both sides (that's what she said). Last year, you could draft from the website. I can't say how much more/less it'll be broken this year though, haha.

We did. The Rams signed Kellen Winslow, TE and dropped Evan Moore, TE. We had talked about doing another one (I think we said Week 12 actually). There's probably not enough time to get one done before we advance, but I guess we could do one for Week 13 if people want to.

Wait, how did you end up with Nick Folk? The Jets cut him during our round of free agency. I'm hoping that the CPU just happened to sign him during one of the many times the Ravens have been empty since then, and that you didn't do the signing yourself.

As for your question about 4th and short, I've always considered from your opponent's 33 yard line to his 49 yard line to be "no man's land". Some kickers have no trouble making 50+ yard field goals, but not everybody has a kicker with a strong leg (especially when you factor in wind/weather conditions). And like you said, there's not much to be gained from punting there. I think going for it under those circumstances is reasonable.
On the free agent thing for the off season, how will we be handling that since we have our own budgets this year? Bidding wars? :) Free for all?
Yeah, once we hit the offseason, it's basically a bidding war. The game no longer handles free agents as "first come, first served". Players will consider offers from multiple teams and decide which one they like the best. You'll also be able to see which teams have put in offers on the players you're interested in.

I did not sign Folk. If I had my choice of free agent kickers, I would have taken Dave Rayner. I assume the CPU did the signing because Justin Tucker had a very low rating when the game first came out, something like a 63, so the CPU saw it as an obvious upgrade. I noticed in the OP that there was a period where everyone could sign 1 free agent. I assume that whoever had the Ravens at that time chose Chad Johnson, so I assumed I wasn't able to make a signing myself.

Yeah, that's basically what happened. That's why we were hoping to avoid any CPU moves when we started the league because we knew they would just do whatever they felt like concerning free agents. And it's not that I'm against free agent signings or anything, but EA did a very lazy job implementing them during the first season.

All contracts are one year, and there is no negotiation period. You offer the player what they want, and you get them. In a league with 31 other users, what this creates is a free for all. So, we had to institute designated free agent signing periods, dividing teams into groups based on record, and allowing each team to pick up one free agent. Once we get to the offseason though, it changes to a much more realistic system with negotiations and multiple teams being able to make offers.
yeh i agree with this. I mean the pace we are going is fine but a little quicker wouldnt hurt!!
The thing you have to realize is that there are a good number of 30-somethings in this league. The other league keeps a brisk 3 day pace (and what seems like one day when they get to the playoffs). And that's a lot easier to keep up with if you're in school or whatever. But 4 days is probably as fast as a lot of people in here could go (myself included).

I understand everybody is excited and wants to stay active (which I really appreciate). But we have to keep it reasonable for everyone. The other thing to remember is that the offseason is going to have a lot more going on than in past years. Other than the draft, there's resigning your own players, making offers to free agents, etc.

As always, people are encouraged to get their games in as quickly as possible...and if we ever have a chance to advance early, we will (though it would help if others would keep tabs on remaining games or even let me know when all games have been completed). But I also don't want to push people harder just to have more games end up getting simmed/CPU played.

Broncos end their four win streak. 35-14. The Madden gods made their opinion of me clear. Good game Cool I am. Maybe a future game will play better in my favor.

I was looking at free agents toady, and he is definitely there. Although, he is only a 76OVR, I was looking at him for the off season.
If everyone sets their team to "Ready to advance", it advances us automatically, right?

Vikings-Bears going down at 9:30 EST tonight.
It does. But then people have to actually remember to do that, lol. And we also would need to be aware that we advanced. It would be nice if EA could send out email notifications to all league members when the league advanced...but I know that just makes way too much sense for them to ever do, haha.

Yeah it'd be nice to advance faster, but there really hasn't been a week where we've been close. It usually comes down to 4-5 games left to be played on the last day with a game or two being simmed. So its hard to press the issue or to thinks its necassary until were advancing early on a consistent basis.

Falcons Vs Buccaneers

Yeah, thanks. That helps. Last year, I would just use the Madden website, but I don't know...something about it this year, I just don't really like it at all. Too much going on, and it makes it sooooo slow. Plus, it's hard to remember how to find the scores, etc. Just not a good design in my opinion. Anyway, thanks for posting that. I think Steelers vs Browns is supposed to be played tonight. The other ones, I don't remember if we've heard anything about.

I've played through multiple offline seasons of franchise in this years game and one thing that I don't like about the offseason free agent signing period is that a lot of players won't sign a deal until the final day of free agency and if the player picks a different teams offer, you won't have a chance to offer another player at that position a deal until preseason starts. If I wanted to sign a few free agents next preseason to fill out my roster, Would I be able to do that? Will it remain only 1 signing in a designated period?
