CAG's NBA 2K11 League - Real rosters(*LEAGUE HAS STARTED!*)

All right, well, I'd hope you've seen everything in the thread about me trying to get my games with Memphis and Detroit in. In case you didn't, I'll send that PM.

Also, I got a Facebook comment from Venom (Boston) wanting to schedule our game for Round 3 ASAP, so that's a plus. Here's my Round 3 schedule (Chicago Bulls):

Looks like I wont be able to get my last games in. I know I am going to take at least one loss for this against LA. Oh well, round 3 hopefully everything will get played.
 
I have two games left in round 2. One against sublime90 (Pistons) but according to my friends list he's in silver so I can't play him. And the other is the Mavs with no user.

So I'm looking to make a comeback in round 3 :D

This fucking sucks, i've tried to play two games. Both I've had the lead at half and I get a message saying 'A Network problem has been encountered that prevents gameplay from continuing. This game will not be counted'

Nate said to just count our game as a W, but I need the game vs Matt Young reset please.

Set up a time with Matt so whomever the team owners of Minesotta and Washington are, hit me up and we can set up a time.

Haha, really good game man. You had me terrified at the beginning as my team was just acting like a bunch of spastic idiots. I do have to say that 5 second long animation that leads to a backcourt violation is freaking retarded though. It's crazy that it bit both of us in the same game. I was pushing right the entire time, and my idiot player just spins and jukes his way ten feet backward behind the line. I was just fortunate to hit those free throws at the end of the game. Thought I was going to choke another one away.

I'm fine with counting our game because I was losing by 20 and you were shooting 65% while I was shooting 33%. I thought I might be able to make a run in the 2nd half, but I think 20 points is just too much to make up. And the problem with restarting the game is things could be completely opposite with me being on fire and you being ice cold. But I do have to point out that the common link here is you. Might want to look into your NAT settings and make sure your ports are forwarded properly. I played hostyl literally right before you and had no problems. Logic would indicate it's something on your end.

Venom, n8 might be on to something here. As I recall, our first attempt also ended in a disconnect at halftime. I've not had a disconnect w/ anyone else in the league.

Funny aside, the only other person I played that had any network issues at all was your guy siradam/feroci0us. Maybe it's the combination of you two. ;)
 
i've played venom...oh..i'd say 30 times in the last 15 or so days and we've had maybe 1 disconnect....but...you never know...

So, maybe whatever settings you guys use (or really, could just be your ISPs) works with each other but not everybody else. I'm just saying, how could you have one person have the same problem in back to back games with two different people and NOT draw conclusions from that? It's basically common sense.
 
Venom said he's had the same problem with other people. It's best not to mind SirAdam... I learn more and more each day how dishonest he is and how he's prone to making claims and accusations and follows it up by talking shit about others behind their backs. My complaint here about him doing everything in his power to screw up our game after he gave up any hope of beating me, that has not been the only complaint. It's extended to the Madden league as well. It's probably best not to encourage the boy.

As Venom said, we are set to try again today. I hope the problem gets fixed. That was the only time I'd ever had a game drop in 2K11. We were both still online when it happened, so I don't know what the issue was.
 
I can speak honestly and say that Fero is telling the truth, We've played a ton of games and only had one or two disconnects. I don't have this problem with any other game at all. Madden always works perfect for me, Most people I play in 2k I don't have a problem, it's just been a few. I run my own league and I've only had a few disconnects if any. Maybe it's the fact I share Internet or something.

On another note if Minny or Wash Can play let me know. Either before or after I play Matt. We are scheduled for 7 PM Eastern Tip Off.

Yeah but aside from the one game matt, there really was no reason for you to post here calling siradam dishonest in post 416. He was simply stating what his experience was in response to my flippant remark (hence my smiley). There was no need for you to call him dishonest as there is no way you could know what happens in games b/w adam and venom.

Basically, you brought up your personal issues here in the league thread just so you could vent. But wouldn't that be better served in a blog post or an off topic thread? What you said in post 416 has nothing to do with the league or league business.

You further say you "tried communicating privately, but that's not working". Fine, but what is posting here going to accomplish? Since we dont have any context about the alleged dishonesty and fantastic claims it all just sounds spiteful, particularly to me as I dont know either of you well but did have a fun game and good convo w/ siradam.

Basically, I'm just asking that we keep things league related here. There are other and better avenues for venting.

That being said, I'll be available the usual times this week 8:45-10:30p E. I only have 3 games left and even though there is no chance I'll make the playoffs, I'd like to play out the string this week as next week I'll mostly be AFC (away from console) next week. So let me know when y'all can play. 'K thanx.
 
Had a good game with Matt, We made it the entire game thankfully. Fourth Quarter was full of Dramatics, I was down 5 and then after a nice defensive run I was able to win it. Final was 52-42 Boston.
 
@urmomlikesme: I see that you're in another league named "Harold's Chicken". You must be black and from chicago arent you? South side or West side? One of the few things I miss from there is Harold's. Fortunately, I'll be back there next week and Harold's is a must stop.

Sorry about earlier Deuce. I got signed out of Xbox Live mid-game when I was playing NHL and it wouldn't let me back on. My internet was fine though, so I started to worry they banned me for naming my player Harry Chinballs, haha. But it seems to be working now. If you still want to play tonight, I can do that.

@Matt Young: I know I said I'd be available most of tonight for our game, but I forgot that the Bears have the Thursday night game. Thus, I'll be watching that instead of playing on the 360. However, since I said I'd play, I still will if you want to. I just need that we set up a time here via post or PM as I wont be monitoring XBL messages during the game like I usually do from 8:45-10:30 E.

Just let me know a time and I can hop on for the half-hour our game will take. (I'll just watch/listen to that part of the game on my lappy/Sirius.

I'm supposed to play my Madden league game at 7 Eastern, like I told you and Deuce last night. That might be able to be changed, depending on when you guys are available. It would have been convenient to play last night, but you guys both messaged me just before I was about to go. Thanks for making an effort, though.

So, if you can play before the Bears game, let me know. Deuce, please let me know your availability as well. If nothing else, I can play after the Madden game, as I believe I told both of you last night. I'll send a PM as well.
 
1) Being from Illinois and being a Packers fan is like being black and a member of the KKK. Shit aint right man! ;)

2) Harold's is a hole-in-the-wall (literally in some places) fried chicken fast food chain that only has stores in Chicago (maybe there is one or two in the very near suburbs). I cant say what's special about it (other than the BBQ sauce) cause I'm not that good with words. It's just an experience.

3) ON TOPIC: My wife is sick and the kids are cranky so there's no way I can bump into 'family time' before 8:45p E. But I'm okay to play *during* the game. I just need to know when to switch over to the 360 as I'll be watching the game on the same TV.
 
Only person I have left to play is Guyver. Let me know when you want to play, man. I'm available most of this evening. Tomorrow, I've got CAG Hockey at 8 PM EST, but could probably play before that if you're around.

With the way deuce and Grand Cru have been walloping folks, I didnt have a snowball's chance in hell of winning it all. So all that counts is having good games (and in some small way, scaring the shit out of folks is somewhat satisfying).

Grand Cru's internet is out right now but it should be back up within the next couple days. I'll make sure to get a message to him that you're lookin to play him.

You played a very good game. It was close throughout, and you even took a 5 point lead into the 4th quarter before I went on that run to take the lead. Still, had you made that 3 at the end, it would have gone to overtime.

I picked up on that pretty early in our game. Although I wasn't great at employing it, my strategy was to make you take jumpshots. It might have worked better if my AI defenders didn't abandon their man every time there was the slightest hint of a screen. I wanted to yell at them "Did I fucking say 'switch'???" lol. In hindsight, perhaps I should have changed to a zone. Oh well. I only lost by 9. Sadly, I'm actually proud of that.
 
Sent a message to Calinks and Spurs. Awaiting a response. Maybe we could get a game in tonight. I'll be busy with football and basketball most of the day tomorrow. If not then Monday works for me.
