Oh my God yes. While Hockey hasn't grown at all over here in Arizona, I try to go to every game I can, and if I can't, I definitely watch on TV.

You Canadians already have waaay too many hockey teams anyways.

In his defence, we do have a lot of non-NHL teams (OHL, GTHL, etc), maybe less than the US still, but still quite a few.

Anyway I'm definately getting Patapon 2 tuesday, doubt theres any risk of that sellling out.

But yeah I too am wondering whether going early on the 30th would be enough to get me Infamous- or should I buy early and price correct. Any insights?

I would price protect but make sure you keep the game sealed. If you go there and they don't want to price match it, you can return the one you bought and just rebuy it again at $30. Well, unless you get a total dick CSR, then you might be screwed.

Another option is 3 days prior to the sale starting just do an online purchase but opt for in-store pickup. Then when you go in you can show them the flyer and they'll have to give it to you for the sale price.

There 6 teams in the NHL that are in Canada. 6 out of 30 is 20%.

Compared to other National sports leagues, this is quite true; look at the MLB, MLSE, NBA, NFL (lol). While we may have "a lot," we definitely don't have enough ;)

Can't wait for the 30th. I'm going to be at the Bay & Dundas Best Buy by 10:30. Hopefully, there will still be a copy left...

Friend told me that I should be there much earlier since there's a lot of RFDers (possibly) in the downtown core...

I have no idea why anyone would wait until the sale starts on one of the items they want when they could do either of these options and be guaranteed they'll get it.
 
^ True say. I bought my copy of inFAMOUS a while ago hoping to price protect, but at the moment I have my PS3 attached to a standard-def TV, and it looks like ass. I'll prolly just return my copy straight-up and wait until the holidays to re-purchase. I'm sure it will drop to $29.99 again in the future.
 
Just ordered Resistance:Restribution and Patapon 2 online, for store pickup. 28.20 after tax, altogether, that's still cheaper than R:R's regular price alone!

Best buy doesn't have an advertised policy that 'guarantees' they will give it to you for that price if you buy it beforehand, that I can see.

That said, it does seem like they lower the online price in the search/cart before the day- Patapon's went down sometime before midnight on Monday.

Prices change at midnight EST afaik which is going to be earlier in other parts of the country.

Even if it does include itself, they know instantly whether they are sold out (after all, the copy you're picking up is already sold to you, even if you haven't paid for it technically yet) so it's really not going to force them to give it to you for the lower price if it's sold out.

Incidentally I live in EST, and Patapon 2 was cheap before midnight on bestbuy.ca
 
@ pmp- Not really, no, with a flyer printout or staright from the BB web site. During december I did plenty of HDTV price matching and it went smooth ;).


Hey everyone, just saying, I went in to Sherway BB today to pick up Patapon 2 {plenty left} and Infamous, but I asked a CSR to check inventory on Infamous.

There are give or take 46 copies instock. I told the rep I knew it was going on sale next week...
He told me straight, buy it now and come back to then get the price correction. hahaha there you go :)
 
Hmm I might have to take a printout to Futureshop as well because we don't have a BB. Would probably have a better chance getting it this way rather then trying to get it online through their website when/if they change the price.

While picking up Patapon (and a copy of Prototype.. with a shirt randomly?) I asked about the policy.. it's not posted but their price policy is a modified (not verbatim) version of their matching policy: namely it doesn't have to be in stock.
 
I was on BB's website yesterday afternoon and saw Prototype listed at $44.99 for XB360 and PS3. I went to FS on my way home from work and PM'ed for $42.49 + tax. I was going to post about it but when I got home late last night, BB had raised the price (on the website, anyway) back up to $69.99... Did anyone else see this deal or get in on it?

It was on sale for $44.99 at BB last week. The sale ended last night.
 
If you PM at Futureshop, are they supposed to match the competitor's price and reduce the price by 10% of the difference? When I PM'd Patapon at Futureshop, they gave it to me for $9.99.

More often than not, you'll have to "remind" the person doing the PM as they tend to forget.
 
I dont think this infamous sale is going to happen. There's nothing in this weeks flyer (june 27th - july 2nd) about the deal. And the deal we saw was in the flyer.

The flyer has actually been out for awhile now. I believe they had it in-store.
 
The inFAMOUS deal and assorted other deals are in a booklet given in-store.

Good thing too. Last thing I need is MORE people to compete with for the PS3 exclusive

lol the value of Infamous for TIVs is going to drop so fast after these next few days.

On that note, I bought a copy for when I do get a PS3. I doubt that we're going to see it at $30 until it goes Greatest Hits after this.
 
Ordered My copy of inFamous on BB's site. Funny thing is when you search the game it lists it at 29.99 but when you hit the link it says 69.99. However when you add it to the cart it goes back to 29.99. Anyone else notice this? This deal is awesome!
 
Hurrah, got my copy. Bay and Dundas lBB ocation had a ton of copies when I left there at 10:30.
