[Canada]Rogers Video 2/40

There was a copy of The Club, Fontlines and also NFS:pro Street for the 360 at the Edmonton Castledowns location. There was some Nascar and NBA08 for the PS3.

Also checked St Albert and there was mostly older stuff for the 360, a few lame PS3 titles except for the Grand Turismo 5 demo and a bunch of wii stuff that I wasn't intersted in.

I did manage to get Assassin's Creed and Boom Blox though :D
Absolutely nothing worthwhile at Victoria & 41st.
Boo, thanks for the heads up. I guess I won't check now.
Boo, thanks for the heads up. I guess I won't check now.
Well, Stranglehold and WWE Smackdown 2008 for 360, but I think those games were like $10 at EB =/
oh well. I can't appease someone nor want to appease someone who ignores my good intentions of buying for my friends and family and selling one copy just to make up for my spending then uses an irrelevant syntax to criticize me.

i went to Rogers today to return my scratched up copy of Halo 3 for Army of Two and found another 3 copies of GTA IV there.

You should come to Edmonton before I hoard them all.
Could you list the locations you've hit and save me some time? Hoping for some Lost Odyssey, SSBB, Mario Kart or Wii Okami. So far 51st ave had Heavenly Sword--that's about all I've managed to snag.

As a side note, could I ask that people fill out their profiles regarding what city they live in? Would really save time on continually inquiring about which city people are finding deals etc. Yes if you spend a lot of time here you learn the regulars and where they live, but it seems CAG Canada's membership has been swelling as of late!

I went to the Transcanada location (52 st ne just south and ur first left at the first set of lights) In calgary and picked up a copy of GTA4, Devil May Cry 4, Condemned 2, Dark Sector, Arny of two, and assassins creed all for 360. They still had two copies of GTA 4 for 360 and the one I got didn't even look used and still had all the contents from inside it.

OMG guys... I just found out something from my local Rogers at Kipling & Dixon Rd.

You know how I've mentioned before that they didn't have much? Well, I dropped in today again on my way home from work. Well, one of the staff who knows that I like games mentioned to me that they had a whole bunch of games that were pulled yesterday and today.

I was surprised cause I went yesterday and saw nothing. He said that they know of this guy (who's well known to the staff) named Steve. He bought multiple copies of GTA4 (both 360 & PS3), Devil May Cry 4, Army of Two, and a number of other high quality titles. He also told me that this guy always comes to that location to clean'm out.

All this time I thought the Kipling/Dixon location sucked, but in reality it was all along this one guy who's been hoarding and most likely flip'n the games for a profit. Sheesh man, all I wanted to do was buy one copy of GTA4 (360).

Well, the good news is that the management will look into this problem and prevent the guy from buying multiple copies again. Finally, at least I can get some justice around here. Although the staff can't hold games for me, the guy at the cash register told me that he'll let me know when their promos will go up and which titles will be put on the shelf. He actually doesn't like the hoarder guy and prevents him from buying multiple copies, but a new person working the register didn't know of the guy and so let Steve buy up practically the entire selection of good games.

Picked up a few things:

Kane & Lynch PS3
UT3
Turok 360
NFS Prostreet 360

I'd love to find GTA PS3, Burnout Paradise, Dark Sector, Uncharted, AoT and maybe even Condemned 2. :)

There was some hoarding at mine too. I went back to see if any of those GTA's were left and apparently someone was in the previous night and bought the three PS3 copies and the four 360 copies.

It's my hope that the hoarding will eventually run its course. Sooner or later places like BBV are going to get sick of loosing money and just lower the trade-in values to sub-EB levels. Then the hoarders won't have incentive to buy 7 copies of GTAIV (the majority are in it for the quick flip--some will still eBay or Craigslist them I'm sure)

I have half a mind to call BBV head office and suggest such a thing. I mean, how do you unload 1 billion copies of a game that you paid top $$$$ for? I can see a lot of those copies gathering dust...

Just came back from the Pembina South location and managed to get GTA4 (PS3) and Boom Blox (Wii). I requested a pull for GTA4 with no hassle. Also got a copy of Chibi Robo (GC) for $10. Only thing worth mentioning on the shelves for the 2/$40 are 2x GT5:p (PS3) and 1x RB6V2 (XB360).

They should do what the manager at the Surrey Central Rogers Video does and limit it to 2 per person. Of course it sorta screwed me as I needed like 4 copies of Bioshock for me and my friends, but I got that elsewhere =P
One more copy of condemned 2 at the Rogers at Northgate in Edmonton (as of 45 minutes ago). Also saw frontline fuel of war.
Is that all they had for good titles? I was going to drive up there...but if that's all that's worth mentioning I'll probably just forget about it. I do want Condemned 2...but if there's nothing else worthwhile I don't think it's worth my time. Thanks for the heads up on that though.

The downtown Edmonton location will almost never have anything good. The Millwoods location is the one that gets the most games, downtown gets almost nil.

Millwoods got around 15 copies of SSBB to rent out, so lots to PV. Downtown got 4 copies.

Ancaster had the best selection ever!
I got:
Devil May Cry 4 (360)
GTAIV(360)

There is still a GTAIV(PS3), Conflict: Denied Ops (360), and some other goodies.

I've never been to the Millwoods location (it's just way too far away) before, but you're definitely right about Downtown. The only time I ever saw decent titles on sale there was when they weren't running the 2/$40 promo...

For all you cheap ass gamers in edmonton I used to live there and when I worked on the southside and these deals would come on I always went to the locations at 10377 51 Avenue and the location down on 2027 111 Street. They always had great selection! But regardless where you go you have to do so early because with all the Nexwaves and Gamecity's in town they have people they send out to hoard all the good titles first thing the morning the deal starts. I once went to the location on castledowns road at beaumaris mall and they had a stack of games and the manager told me the same guy buys out every popular game anytime they have the sale so they just put the games on the side for him when he calls in.

omg... that just happened to me this week at my Rogers; both managers told me a regularly known customer buys up all the games during these sales.

just got back from the Ottawa/ montreal road location (beside dubarrys)

they had okami, and resident evil 4 i don't have a wii so i left them for someone who does...with a heads up even.:D

Victoria & 41st had stuff!
I picked up:
Gran Turismo 5: Prologue (PS3) for my friend
GTAIV (PS3) for my friend
Boom Blox (Wii) for me
Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii) as filler. Anyone in GVR need this?

They had 2 copies of GTAIV (PS3) and a copy of Assassins Creed (PS3) left when I left the store to go to work, but they were gone when I checked again just now. They actually forgot to put the discs in the cases so I had to go back to get them x.x

The store still has:
360 Grand Theft Auto IV
PS3 Dark Sector
PS3 Burnout Paradise
Wii Super Paper Mario

Dark Sector, Conflict Denied Ops (only thing worth buying as filler, trades for $30 at EB). both for 360. Capliano location in Edmonton. There's still two Dark Sectors on 360 there, Bladestorm without the case, and not much else on 360. Nothing worthwhile on PS3/Wii either.

Hey all. Although it's a long shot I was wondering if anyone had picked up a spare GTAIV (PS3 or 360...I have no preference) I could buy in the Lower Mainland area, usually I would do this myself but I'm in New Zealand at the moment and have missed out on every game release in the past 5 months. It wouldn't be long before I could pick it up as I fly home tomorrow. If anyone is willing to help it would be very much appreciated. If not, even a PM on which stores still have any of the PV copies left would do. Thanks a lot.

Went to the RV Meadowoods location by St. Vital. Nothing for me but good picks left are GTA4 (360), Battallion Wars (Wii), Unreal Tournament (PS3), Rock Band (PS3) and Heaveny Sword (PS3). All 1 copy left.

:/ i dont have any decent rogers near my house. They usually only have stuff like viva pinata party animals, or really bad fps. So if anyone sees any good games in the gta for rogers ill like to know thanks.

Well I just came back and the guy was taking the sign down. Apparently it stopped on Monday but he was nice enough to offer the deal to me anyways. Decided to pick up Brawl and Zelda: TP (sadly no manuals). Just talk to the people there, if they are nice enough, they might be able to still give it to you.

PS: Is there a certain way I should remove the rental sticker on these disks?

lift the sticker up with your nail and pull the sticker off, it will leave void over where it was on the disc, now take the sticker you just pulled off or the price tag sticker off the front of the game and use it to take the void off the disc by pressing the sticky side of the sticker against the void and pulling up. Works perfect for me everytime

Thanks a bunch, works perfectly.

+1

This works great when the stickers are on the disc itself. For manuals, you might want to try to use the hair dryer to heat up the sticker before you peel it off.

I went to one in Edmonton today and I did fairly well. Of course while I was there one guy comes in and buys 4 copies of GTA for the 360 and 3 for the PS3, also he bought multiple copies of R6V2.

I myself picked up GTA4(360/PS3), Haze and R6V2(360) I was planning on keeping Haze but after reading the reviews online I think I'll be selling it to recoup some costs.

Edit: I can't wait to see the pic magiic

Seeing as you've already been there, care to reveal the location? Edmonton has a *few* RVs.

51st ave did not pull any R6V2 or GTA4, but pulled a haze and stranglehold for PS3. Also a namco game for Wii. Hope that helps someone--i left them all behind.

Once again--that was at the 51st ave store in Edmonton. ;)

you have to remember he is not an edmonton native, he's from Victoria. He probably has no idea lol. I know I wouldn't.

Yeah I got pretty lucky with it. My parents live there and I was there visiting them. I put Roger's into the GPS and it pointed me towards one. I actually hit the store on my way home.

Anything you want me to look for at the Colwood one? Im going back in a little bit to walk my friend home from work. I can always pick something up if you want.

About the only thing I'm looking for right now is Ninja Gaiden II, or Mario Kart Wii since I'm sick of waiting for Dell(some of us didn't get an e-mail today :p) But thanks for the offer

If it makes you feel any better Dell has started forcing signatures on packages so my SNR sticker didnt work and as such I need to find a way to get to the purolator depot now to pick it up :(

Fair enough.

Ok here goes

They had a big pull

I think Crackdown is less than that. I know I've passed up on it new for like $20 before. Which is really dumb of me come to think of it. I should pick it up sometime.
