Canceled an order but store shipped (and charged me) anyway

I ordered an R4 DS from www.dealextreme.com and paid via PayPal but a few hours aftwards, I found it on another site, www.kaidomain.com, for $5 less.

I used their site to canceled the order and said I found a lower price elsewhere.

I get an email from PayPal about a refund, which I didn't bother to check because I figured it was for my canceled order.

Well, yesterday, I received an email from DealExtreme saying my order shipped. I thought it was a mistake and went to check that refund email I got and it shows that I only received a $4.60 refund for the price difference.

Well, I'm not all too happy about this. I emailed them and they sidestepped the question. And now I'm waiting for a real reply. I could just return it but shipping to Hong Kong can't be cheap (and my item will probably get lost).

I'm guessing I can't do anything about this since the store is in Hong Kong but do you guys have any ideas? I never really had trouble with an international store.

Honestley, I can't see your problem. They did you a favour with the price matching? Or am I totally wrong;)

I thnk it's the principle of the situation.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not, but the problem is that he already ordered a second one assuming the first would be canceled. Now I'm guessing he has two coming to him.

I believe if you don't open the package and write refused on it then it will be mailed back to the company at no charge to you.

Though getting your payment refunded is another issue. I don't think PayPal covers you very much outside of North America.

My worry is that they won't take the package back because it's from Hong Kong. And if I do return it, like Botticus said, they probably won't return my money and PP won't help me out. I wonder if my credit card company can do something.

Your credit card will always help you out. You're the one they hope pays them 20% interest on an outstanding balance one day, not PayPal.

Sell the extra one on ebay. Looking at the going rate there, you should be able to recup your cost and perhaps a little something for your trouble.
If they price-matched then you're getting the price you want, why not just cancel the 2nd order from the cheaper company?
Because I also ordered something else from the other site (Wii component cables). And it's already shipped by the time I realized what was going on.

I'll sell the extra R4 for whatever my cost was plus shipping but it would be cheaper to get it from one of those two sites. I might have to eBay it.

I did not mean to be sarcastic, I didn't know/think that he had ordered a second copy.

Hope it turns out well;)

Best Buy did this to me with Wii Play. I wasn't too happy with it, but I was able to return, minus $2 for shipping.

Someone on here will gladly buy it off you for cost + shipping, as these International sites seem to take forever to ship them out to people in the US.
