you have phantom humming problems too? are you sure its the system? it could have something to do w/ electrical currents, especially how you got your system hooked up. My PC monitor makes a humming noise when the screen is almost all white. Then I come to dark world over here on CAG, humming instantly stops..I really can't relate that to the PS store since its multicolored, but something to think about, at any rate its not normal.
Yeah, it hums, and it's the system itself. I've turned off the TV when it does it before, just to make sure it's not coming from the speakers for some reason, and it's still humming.
It's an 80GB second gen MGS4 bundle unit, and I don't notice it humming at any other point, except on most of the screens in the PSN store. It's really weird...maybe I'm just not hearing it hum during games, but it's like...why would displaying a store, that's just a web interface basically, cause the system to hum, when presumably more strenuous playing games and Blu Ray doesn't?
If you go to PSN Store on the XMB there's this big banner that says Street Fighter HD remix HALF OFF so I have no idea what you're on about.
Obviously not when I went. It wasn't listed anywhere at all, which surprised me.
The graphics aren't great. I think the old game looked better. The characters are huge compared to Marvel vs Capcom 2. You can switch to the old sprites but they're really blurry.
My biggest problem is that this game is hard as hell on Easy mode.
I'm not sure how I feel about the graphics. They're better than SF4, from what I've seen of that in screen shots, but I don't think they're entirely better than the original graphics, and certainly much worse relative to when they were released. The faces in particular are pretty terrible, and it's all just not as good as you'd hope, though not terrible either.
Tell me about it...The first time I tried it, I was remembering the old game. Well, the new fireball demon Ryu quickly reminded me that this game is a lot different than the original (rewritten code and all).
So this IS different? I wasn't sure if it was because I've played way more Street Fighter Alpha (and for that matter, the original SF2) than Super Street Fighter 2, but it didn't feel right last night. It seems like I'd do the wrong move sometimes, and throwing a fireball seemed wrong. It's definitely not as good of a game as Alpha 2 and 3, IMO (gameplay OR graphics OR music, for that matter). The speed of the animation doesn't look right to me either-but again that might be accurate to Super.
I played three ranked matches and got beat all three times, although I won several of the rounds at least. (Not sure why ranked has you have to win an extra round.)
The online play itself seemed good and lag free, although there were zero matches using classic graphics, and it was hard to find a match in ranked mode at all. Lots on the unranked, new graphics mode.
Oh, one thing that occurred to me-they ought to have the option to let you select which side of the screen your character starts on. I prefer left, as I suspect most people do, and there's no reason they couldn't just have BOTH players on both systems starting on the left, if they want, since it's nothing to just invert all the input on the other system.
At any rate...I'm sort of disappointed because I HATE deathmatch, and always thought maybe Street Fighter would be the one game I want to play online. Only I'm probably not good enough, and aside from that...I don't know, it's just not quite right.
