Car stuff?

Should have stayed away from the Lancer. But that's just my opinion.

try wingswest.com
erebuni.com

I'm sure there's more but they carry a lot of stuff as far as bodykits and wings.

It's a 2003 Mits Lancer. 3o thousand miles for $7 grand I think I made off pretty good. I had to buy something. I had a cupon for a free a free oil change and the people didnt tighten the oil filter good enough so the car frizzled up on the freeway later that night(It was a 95 Chevy Corsica, so Im glad it died)

Id say you got one hell of a deal on that car

Fisrt of all I would go back to the lazy-asses that changed your oil and bash their heads in and threaten to sue.

Now the best place to look for car mods is usually smaller custom shops and garages near you. The bigger places tend to charge more. There's a different shop for all your needs. There's a shop for audio, a shop for rims, a shop for tinting, a shop for interior accessories, and a shop for performance and racing mods. Then there's always West Coast Customs, but that may be out of your price range. There are some very good online retailers but they always slam you with shipping. I got a nice pair Alteeza tail lights from a cheap Yahoo Store.

Some tips for Cheap Ass Drivers (like you and I):
Change your oil and fluids yourself, it's way cheaper and is very easy to do if you don't mind getting a bit dirty.
Go to Auto Zone or Discount Auto Parts for all your auto part needs. They have cheap, quality parts that usually come with a lifetime warranty.
Take care of your car, check oil and fluids regularly and always before a long ride.
Learn to change a tire and always keep a spare and a jack in the trunk.
Pickup a good book about mechanics and learn more about your car.
Join a forum specific for your car make or model, there's many out there.

I hope I've been a help. I'm 17 and I've been driving my 1987 Honda Accord for 2 years. When I got it for free it had 202k miles, now it has 213k and it's still in perfect condition. Be good to it and it will be good to you.

Also.. in my area places like autozone takes your used oil for free.

and when you take it to a shop to get work done ask for some references so you can see their past work.

www.andysautosport.com usually has some cool looking parts, but you can usually find them cheaper. As far as performance or anything else, look for a forum site with your car. I have a Mitsubishi Eclipse and have found much help from DSMtuners.com. If your lancer has the 4g63 engine in it (2.0 L N/A) you can probably find some help on DSMtuners.
Good luck with the lancer.

I second dsmtuners. dont put hideous altezza lights on it dotn put a hideous aluminum wing on it.

read up before you buy anything.

if you have any particular questions pm me I can probably point you in the right direction.

hideous aluminum wing? Maybe on a lancer but aluminum wings are beautiful. But the Carbon Fiber Wings are better but on a lancer they dont look right. This place is also very very interesting http://www.autothisworld.com/ It has things like hinges to change regular doors to either Lambo style doors, Suicide Doors, or even shaved doors(doors with no handle, open by door poppers) actuators to use to open trunks or hoods and many other things

yea. like there arent enough f&f wannabe cars on the road.
paint it lime green and put s2000 head lights on it while youre at it.
vertical doors on a lancer, yea good idea.

WOW. I thank you all for the info. I will have to do a lot of research as I just got into the car thing in May and Just did my First oil change on my own. I really want new rims(wheels) because I have stock plastic hubcaps and I REALLY want a spoiler. I wanted to keep it under a grand but looks like that is not happening. I will have to buy one thing at a time. Thanks again!

DSMtuners is pretty good, but there are tons of DSM sites out there with loads of info. I didn't know the Lancer had the 4G63 in it, though.

If so, you can easily turbo it for about a thousand dollars. Now keep in mind, it won't be as fast as an Evo and won't be AWD, but it will still be pretty quick.

The 4G63T is a really good engine, but it is prone to have problems once you start modding it. Make sure you know what you're doing or your mechanic knows what he's doing. Also tuning is your best friend. If your cars not in top shape, don't go out running it. It's the fastest way to blow up your engine.

Too many times I've read stories of these kids slapping on a boost controller, turning the PSI way up and then wondering why they blew their engine up when they have no supporting mods.

If you plan on doing any modding, make sure you always add the supporting mods before you do anything big. Like if you want to turn up your boost, make sure you have the fuel pump and injectors to support it as well as all the other stuff that goes with it.

I have a 91 Talon TSi, and it is fun as hell to drive. I have a few problems with it right now, but for the money I paid for it, I can't complain. For a $1,000, to get a 200 hp car that is easily capable of 300 hp with a bit of money put into it, you can't go wrong.
