this is inspired by tangytangerine's post on the gi joe movie. i personally would like to see 3 diff cartoons ....no 4 made into movies. ok 5 .

voltron

wheeled warriors

silver hawks (cgi) since im not sure if it could be done justice in live action

thundar the barbarian

MASK ( probably the easiest to pull off overall just not sure how youd need to change the costumes they wore).

Read or Die would make an incredibly fun spy film if done properly.

Oh, and of course Monster, but that *is* getting a movie. Still think it'd work better as a trology, though - too much content for just one.

Lets Meow Meow

Bible Black

and for real--

--monster
--Lain, if done by some high class artsy european director
--Death Note

Baccano! (though I think it would fit better as a live-action tv series)
Claymore (using the manga ending instead)
Cowboy Bebop
Death Note
Ghost in the Shell
Gunslinger Girl (Dakota Fanning w/ a sniper rifle. You know the NRA's gonna love that. It'll essentially be The Professional 2)
Hellsing
His & Her Circumstances (Kare Kano)
Melancoly of Suzumiya Haruhi
TOKKO
Welcome to the NHK
Deathnote did get two movies in Japan but I personally didnt like them.
Which is why I want another one to be made :p

For that matter not just Batman Beyond, but live-action adaptions of DCAU with heavy Bruce Timm and Paul Dini input.

Batman Beyond has the most potential because not as many are familiar with it, so their won't be many preconcieved ideas from casual fans.

Also, a live-action adaptation of Disney's Gargoyles would be incredible. Salli Richardson (the voice of Elisa Maza in Gargoyles) is smoking hot in real life and would be great.

I second Let's Meow Meow. Easily the most thought-provoking, well-developed storyline in an anime game where you fuck bitches hoez dressed as cats.

I would like Vampire hunter D, Berserk, give me a Golgo 13 movie. I know they did this but it sucked, Fist of the Northstar.

Well, there are a ton of anime series that would make good movies, but many of them already have O.V.A.s, so it's kind of a moot point to debate that.

So, skipping past the Japanimation, I'll second the Gargoyles idea. That was such a great show. I have fond memories of that show; it was hands down THE best original Disney Channel show, ever.

...Wait, did it premiere on the Disney Channel? I can't remember. And that old Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon was cool, but wasn't made by Disney, so it doesn't count.

Darn. I was going to post that one.

Outlaw Star is the only one that I can think of right now. Probably wouldn't work, but I think it'd be cool. Batman Beyond would work, and I can picture emo spider man playing Terry ( I think that's what the young punk's name was ).

Nope, it ran in syndication.
No Evangelion? I am suprised.
That's 'cause Eva sucks dick (in my opinion, which also happens to be fact).

No way! Eva is pretty damn sweet, and It would be a really kickass movie if it ever comes out. I mean come on, we are talking about giant robots here.

Only *my* opinions about anime are facts. You should know that by now!

I don't know man. I first saw it when I was a teenager but I went back and tried to watch a few episodes lately. It's more or less unwatchable crap.

That's because EVA already is a movie.

That's right, they're redoing the series again in Japan in the form of four movies. They look pretty cool, IMO. Evangelion always seemed to me to be full of great ideas, but hammered by imperfect execution. In the series, it was perfectly excusable; Sega cut their funding near the end. But Death and Rebirth were crap. End of Evangelion did a good job of clearing up many of the unexplained plot threads, but the actual ending was...both unsatisfying and unsettling. At least watching the movie made me appreciate the last episode of the series more.

EDIT: Yeah, I figured Gargoyles wasn't made for Disney Channel. But that's where I watched it. So, Gargoyles and Sonic: the two best shows to ever air on Disney Channel--EVER!

nah i think gargoyles started on abc which i think is owned by disney so in a way i guess it is a disney show and you all are right it would have made for a great movie. hell i wish it would at least get a decent videogame. itd be awesome to play as macbeth or against him. of course if you have a day night system in the game wtf would you do in the daytime play as eliza?

I can't think of any real cartoon preferance at the moment for a feature movie, but this thread reminded me of the upcoming Dragonlance movie, so I searched and found the trailer.

This looks like the crappiest animation I've seen in a long time. It's like they made the movie in the '80s and then added some half-assed CGI dragons to it. I was hopeful that they would do the books some justice, but I always knew deep down that this would be a disappointment. It makes me ashamed of American animation standards.

I think there was a live action GTO tv show, but only in JP.

Gargoyles moved to ABC for its final season, Goliath Chronicles, which was the most horrid piece of trash imaginable. Killed my interest in the franchise pretty quick. Before that it ran in syndication, like I said before. DO NOT TEST ME!!

It got both a TV drama and a movie. The latter was actually released in America about a year ago.
Battle of the Planets.

Make it happen Hollywood.
yeah that would make for a great movie but i think they should use its other name G Force. i always loved that fight music they used to use.

i also wish they would make a dungeons and dragons movie based off of the cartoon. the one they did a coupple of years back was horrible they should have kept it like the cartoon it would definetly make for a cool series of films hell what kid didnt want a lightening bow back then. thundar the barbarian could make for a cool movie too and a videogame.
