This is the official CDKeys thread. What is CDkeys? It's a digital retailer for PC games (mostly Steam codes) that is a lot like G2A.

I only recognize religious holidays that involve one or more anthropomorphized animals.  Those are the important ones and clearly cdkeys agrees with me.

Dirt 4 is a pretty good deal for $34 but I know it will be that cheap again long before I get around to playing it.

They don't have a lot of sales and after the regressive left snowflakes threw a pansy fit over the Easter sale, they've cut back a bit.
I think your use of snowflakes as a leftist pejorative is adorable.

But let's think about this for a minute.

Snowflakes are white, cold and close down schools.

Which political leaning does that sound like?

It took you more effort asking on here and then bumping looking for an answer, when it would've taken you 30 seconds to sign up a "Hugh Jass" Facebook account.
Rofl classic.

Dude when is the last time you signed up for FB? I think it's less questions to get public housing.

Dianna Cancer would be a good choice too.

Bump for a new discount code. Something like SUMMERFUN10 might work?

You could go to the site and look

and no, there isnt one, cdkeys only does 10% offs sporadically during sales. Which they dont have that often.  Theres the permanent 5% off facebook coupon and thats about it

Any of the coupon codes working for you all? Went to their fb page, liked and got 2 different coupon codes for 5% and when entering it in the discount codes box at checkout, it states code is invalid.

There is a spot for you to enter your email and they send you a code, no likes needed. That's the 5% off code I got anyway and it worked.

there is probably more but now I am bored of doing this moral of this story check everywhere else b4 settling on steams prices even if it is their steam summer sale.

The difference between CDkeys' price for Call of Duty Ghosts and the steam price is eye popping. $7.79 vs $39,59 over on steam.

EDIT: Just noticed that the steam version includes two DLC packs. So it doesn't appear to be the same product that CDKeys has. That probably accounts for a fair amount of the difference. Although, it'd still be a good deal cheaper to buy the base game on CDkeys and pick up those two DLC (assuming you even want them) on steam than to buy the package that steam sells.

just make sure when buying COD (and most AAA games) on cdkeys that they are not marked as EU region, unless of course you are in EU. Starting about a year ago it seems their key supply went mostly EU only for many publishers, which coincided with some others like funstock.

I honestly don't know if CDKeys has caved to pressure from SJW snowflakes or what, but no Easter sale so far.  I'll give them until the weekend.  I saw PSN has a Good Friday theme.  Thank God Sony isn't afraid of all the PC snowflakes and allows us to celebrate the true savior as he should be celebrated.

Damn right! I'll be celebrating Jesus with chocolate bunnies and materialistic spending sprees! 'murica!

He is said to be the sacrificial lamb of Christianity (my religion), yet for some reason Easter became associated with rabbits.

I guess Lambs weren't marketable enough for our rampant, insatiable commercialism.

Back on topic, I have used CDKeys many times in the past and have always had a great experience. In the here & now, there are a few games that caught my eye - so I hope a sale happens shortly to make my purchasing decisions a little easier. (Oh, the irony of me acting high & mighty - and chastising our over-indulgence in spending during Christian holidays...and then totally being annoyed that said holidays have fewer stores that take part in sales anymore.)

Question: Why would you assume that a sale starts on a Tuesday or Wednesday? Everywhere else, weekend sales start on Thursdays...

It's that time again, children! Time for learning the historical origins of religious symbolism! Yaaaaaaay!

Wikipedia said:
The Easter Bunny (also called the Easter Rabbit or Easter Hare) is a folkloric figure and symbol of Easter, depicted as a rabbit bringing Easter eggs. Originating among German Lutherans, the "Easter Hare" originally played the role of a judge, evaluating whether children were good or disobedient in behavior at the start of the season of Eastertide. The Easter Bunny is sometimes depicted with clothes.

[...]

The hare was a popular motif in medieval church art. In ancient times, it was widely believed (as by Pliny, Plutarch, Philostratus, and Aelian) that the hare was a hermaphrodite. The idea that a hare could reproduce without loss of virginity led to an association with the Virgin Mary, with hares sometimes occurring in illuminated manuscripts and Northern European paintings of the Virgin and Christ Child. [...] Eggs, like rabbits and hares, are fertility symbols of antiquity. Since birds lay eggs and rabbits and hares give birth to large litters in the early spring, these became symbols of the rising fertility of the earth [...]

Rabbits and hares are both prolific breeders. Female hares can conceive a second litter of offspring while still pregnant with the first. This phenomenon is known as superfetation. Lagomorphs mature sexually at an early age and can give birth to several litters a year (hence the saying, "to breed like rabbits" or "to breed like bunnies"). It is therefore not surprising that rabbits and hares should become fertility symbols, or that their springtime mating antics should enter into Easter folklore.

In addition, Orthodox churches have a custom of abstaining from eggs during the fast of Lent. The only way to keep them from being wasted was to boil or roast them, and begin eating them to break the fast. As a special dish, they would probably have been decorated as part of the celebrations. Later, German Protestants retained the custom of eating colored eggs for Easter, though they did not continue the tradition of fasting. [...] Many Christians of the Eastern Orthodox Church to this day typically dye their Easter eggs red, the color of blood [...]

The idea of an egg-giving hare went to the U.S. in the 18th century. Protestant German immigrants in the Pennsylvania Dutch area told their children about the "Osterhase" (sometimes spelled "Oschter Haws"). Hase means "hare", not rabbit.

Thank you for your humorous post.

I actually went looking for Far Cry 5 on PC last night and saw some guy selling it on eBay for really cheap...provided I use his "Steam" (wait, what?) account, etc, etc.

I was excited to see the offer...then I laughed when I read the listing's details...and then shed a tear because it looks like that game can't be found for anything less than $52 anywhere right now - and my CAG brain just can't pay that price.
