Their are minor differences in the cut scenes (barely noticeable). So it all comes down to price and preference on the box art.

I'm just saying what he said was true about it being $45.

I'd prefer the PS3 version as I like Catherine better then Katherine, plus the 360 d-pad is horrible. I'd never play it on 360 even for $15 less

You know I didnt have many issues beating it with the Xbox D-pad. Not sure why the hate on the xbox version
 
I was at best buy yesterday and they were selling the leftover preorder gift for lord of the rings shadow of the north. A big ogre type statue for 10.00 well worth it IMO sku# 3687294

A nice catch for a statue collector. I will try to post a pic.

New Vegas is 29.99 at gamestop If you can find one.

The cheapest I have seen the Fallout 3 360 was on amazon for $30 (that isn't the case anymore).

PC version was 21.99 on AZ as well.

Yeah, while I generally dislike the 360 d-pad for most things, I had no issue playing through Catherine on a 360.
 
Just came across the Two Worlds II Royal Collector's Edition on Amazon, it doesn't look like a sale, just an MSRP drop. (Sorry if it's already been posted elsewhere, first time I saw it.) I've never played Two Worlds II, but I heard it's pretty good. Looks like you get a lot for your money.

Don't buy these for the :360: at least. I ordered the CE for the GOTY and I got a PAL region copy and I did a google search and nothing showed it being region free either :whistle2:(

My buddy ordered the Royal Bundle (Regular), PAL disc. So unless you want everything else for the Regular Royal Bundle and buy the disc down the line, avoid this.
 
I've been meaning to get Ys: Seven, but there's not a chance in hell I'm paying $70 for a collectors edition of a PSP GAME! I don't care if it comes with a naked woman inside.

Can't decide between the Royal CE and the Velvet GOTY version.

From a collector's standpoint, any ideas which may be more valuable in the future?

I'd suggest getting both. If you ever do decide to play one, choose the one that has appreciated less.

But if you do only want one...I would say that the Royal CE will appreciate more over time, because of the figurine. However; if you can snag one somewhere, I would suggest getting the Royal GotY edition, as it has both the expansion and the figurine.
 
Thanks - good advice. And thank you for not raging on me because I asked about the potential value in the future, and not just about the gameplay advantages.

I play many games, but my backlog has gotten so HUGE, I find that many LEs stay sealed long enough that the value goes up and I just get the standard editions when I get around to playing them.

Unfortunately, that didn't happen for Mass Effect 1 LE - that one I did open up. ;)

Eh, I'm going for the Velvet GotY since I actually want to play it. Darn shame the Royal GotYs went quick. Thanks for the link and the promo code.

How often are there promo code deals like this anyways? This is my first time using one.
 
Why can't I use my amazon credit along with the promo code? I would have gotten the two worlds 2 royal edition if I could use both, making it free, but as it stands I'll pass.

You should be able to because it was using my credit when I didn't want it to. You may want to click on the 'edit' button next to your payment method and uncheck and re-check the promo/credit checkbox.

It's $50, how are you getting it for $25? Did the price went up?
 
That's strange. Went through my credit without any issues. Do you have credit from a promotion which is only allowed for Amazon fulfillment? Or credit like giftcard credit?

When I ordered mine a few days ago, it said this, and still says this on the page when I bring it up.

Anyone else having the issue playing today? I have been trying to get into games and if I can get into one then I'm the only one left in it by the time it starts. Most of the time the host drops from the game and then so does everyone else. When I played this on the 14th and 15th it was great but today I just can't get into a game.

Just a headsup, I have the Velvet GotY Edition for 360. It IS Pal, but it worked perfectly on my US 360. Region free for US at least.
Pissed I missed out on the sale though.

Ah good to know. I did a google search and it turned up zilch for me and I wasn't going to trust the random Amazon reviews. I guess I will call Amazon and cancel my return then and keep this. Thanks for the heads up.
 
For anyone looking to get Uncharted 3 collectors from best buy for $64.99.
Game only trades in for 25 so comes out alot cheaper if u want to upgrade. I bought my regular copy on Black friday for 30 so not really a big loss.

I got mine really cheap since I traded in my regular uncharted and had a 15 certificate.
 
IMHO the real gem of the Halo Reach CEs is the journal. Stuffed with extras, and containing a lot of worthwhile content that really adds to the lore of the universe. They really spent real time and effort to put it together. Forget that stupid statue, the journal is where it's at!

There was a slew of really great CEs released recently with high quality additions like these. Stuff that actually adds to the lore of the universe, not just physical collectibles. The Alan Wake novel with substantial added "lore" content, Bioshock 2 artbook with a healthy amount of developer/artist commentary inside, Halo Reach journal, etc. Overseas releases, the AC:B and AC:R special editions both had substantial book content in them as well (Leonardo's codex and AC Encyclopedia, respectively).

These are the kinds of things that really encourage me to buy the CEs, not plastic statues or steelbooks.

I don't think it's a "clearance" per say, it seems like it was just a standard price drop for it a while ago that didn't get very publicized. All of the Best Buys should have them at that if they have them in stock. Similar to how Dead Space 2's CE was for a while (actually those might still be $19.99 if you can find them in store). Still a good deal though for anyone interested in it.
 
Hey guys, has anyone gotten a price on the Dark Souls Limited Edition from gamestop? I have 2 near me that have a copy of each (ps3/xbox), but the tag says 59.99. I would believe the price, but if anyone has bought one recently I'd believe them over a price sticker.

I bought one for $25.72 "Very Good" condition from Amazon about a week ago, but it came incomplete (without the slipcover).

I think I was lucky though, since I mostly still see them for $45 - 50. But give Amazon a try, keep looking, you'll eventually find one. I know an individual seller was selling his "Like New" copy for $35 about two days ago, I was about to jump the gun but I would have 3 Dark Souls copies... so I decided to skip it.
