I got Zelda: Oracle of Ages tonight, but apparently the save battery is dead because I can't create a new file or even play the game at all.

Same thing with Pokemon Blue, I took the cart apart and just adjusted the contacts with the battery. It saves fine now.

To find it tonight... I simply searched for Gameboy under deals, with a search for only threads... came right up

My store has Mega Man IV and V but I dont think I want them at those prices...if they drop a bit each then I might bite.

Shantae seems to have been well-received and it appears to play like Lady Sia, which I liked, so I might pick that game up since its around the corner.

A month or two back, I went to my local Gamestop looking for Gameboy camera. In the display case, all they had were Pokemon games, but the guy went in the back to check, since he noticed it was "instock" on the computer after looking it up. He came back and said there was one, but is "damaged beyond use" or something like that, and said they were in the process of sending it back. I just checked online again today, and it says it's still instock. I also looked up a few of the other cheap Gameboy games, and they too are instock, in varying forms of 1-3 or 4+. Could this be possible hoarding? And is there any way to call their bluff?

I'm pretty sure the store locator for the GB/GBC games is outdated.

The store I got my haul from didnt have enough room in the GB case for them, I asked and they pulled out a box full of carts which I sorted through. Luckily someone had recently traded in a ton of MINT in plastic case GB games and I racked up

Just ask...

Last week, I picked up:

Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters - $1.99
Star Trek 25th Anniversary - $2.99

I don;t remember if Star Wars based on the NES or SNES game...

According to my receipt from tonight, Mega Man 5 is $12.99, not $14.99 as listed in the OP.

I bought Mega Man II ($4.99) a few days ago and... WOW! Incredibly fun.

I played my friend's copy a long while ago and for some reason thought it sucked. I was very much mistaken.

Does anyone know how much MM 1 is? (Not that there are any copies in my area)

The online prices are WAY out of date. That's the price from years ago and they haven't updated since.

The site's still useful for tracking inventory, though

Awesome score for me on some GB games... picked up Castlevania 2, Castlevania Legends, and Metroid 2 from the list

Also Bonk's Adventure 4.99

and the big find, a mint copy of Mario Picross 9.99... didnt think Id ever find it, much less in perfect shape

I was pleased to find Castlevania Legends ($5.99) the other day.... it seems to be a harder to find Castlevania title?

*brings this long forgotten topic back to life*

I went to a GS today and they had 4 boxes of GB games. I looked through only 2 this time though. Bought Pokemone Blue, Game & Watch Gallery 2 (once I get 4, I may be the only person with a complete G&WG collection), and Mystical Ninja starring Goemon for $2.99 each. I also found out Dragon Warrior 1 & 2 is $9.99, and some Pipe Dreams game is $2.99. Next time i head out there, I'll see whats in the other 2 boxes. Hopefully a certain penguin game... And a copy of Revelations: Demon Slayer (which is also $2.99) that has a working battery and doesn't look like crap.

I recently picked up Shantae for $2.99, Kirby: Tilt and Tumble for $4.99, and Dragon Warrior III for $4.99 (minus Edge discount of course).

btw how is tilt and tumble?
i remember like 7 years ago when there was all the hype for that game

I had more trouble finding Belmont's Revenge than Legends
Must... resist... Camera...
lol the camera is so awful but it is still rather fun. Man that is a bad camera.

anyways i must find The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX. I had totally forgot about that game and it is by far my favorite zelda game.

I only played it on my GBA, which is basically playing it upside down, so the controls were really messed up. It will probably take some time to get used to playing it that way, so I can't really give an honest opinion of it right now (since I'm not playing it how it was intended).

hahaha that must not do it justice...

the gameboy camera is something I've wanted for a LONG time. They have 1-3 15 minutes from my house so I think it will be mine!!!

I'm weak. I bought it. :'[

And if I didn't still have Link's Awakening DX, I'd definitely pick it up. It's a very fun game.

elevator was original GB, i only know cuz I own it ever since it came out. lol birthday gift when i was a kid, maybe 12 years ago. I keep everything.

I was just checking the availablity for some of these games and noticed the prices are different than in the OP:

Zelda Links Awakening $10
Zelda Links Awakening DX $12
R-Type DX $15
Dragon Warrior 3 $10
Game Boy Camera $3

etc..

did the bastards at GS/EB increased their prices again or are these somehow cheaper in B&M stores?

No, they went up. I noticed that when Metal Gear Solid GBC jumped to $29.99!

Woohoo, I managed to grab Shantae for $2.99 today. Now if only Castlevania II and Legends were at closer stores...

I made a thread ages ago along these same lines. I wonder where that went...

edit. found it... but i looked again and all the links are dead.

There's an official sign at my GameStop that says that they are no longer accepting trade-ins for GameBoy and GameBoy Color games as of April 7. (GBA trade-ins will still be accepted.)

This means that there should be a massive price drop in original GB and GBC games sometime soon after that, so consider saving your purchases until after that.

I found Kirby's Dream land 2 and two copies of Wario Land for the original Gameboy the other day. It made me really happy too since I've been struggling to find them for a decent price since I lost my copies as a kid.

If someone wants my extra Wario Land for some other Gameboy/GBC game I can't find around here, send a PM.
