cheap jackie chan movies?
watch ong bak and u wont be interested in chan anymore.
So watching an overrated repetitive action flick with terrible acting and a horrendous plot makes you forget about Chan?

Ok.

yes because in the end chan has classics under his belt but the overdone 'comedy' in his films leaves a childlike quality that leaves us wanting more but were left with rush hour so we must move on to bigger and better things.
i got Mr. Nice Guy and Rumble in the Bronx for like, 6 dollars each at Fry's, if you have one near you.
wow, i cant believe someone else actualy bought mr. nice guy. IMO that was one of the worst films I have ever watched my entire life. Jackie Chan as a chef... what an uninteresting idea for a movie!

I dunno, I thought it was pretty funny.

I thought that movie was okay not the greatest, but it still seemed okay. Isn't that the one where he goes into the arcade and start busting up the place, or was that a different jackie chan movie?

what an idiot... ong bak was good but that's it... and how can you say he has classics under his belt then try and make that out to be a bad thing... bizarre

I thought SPL was kind of disappointing. The movie revolved more around Simon Yam then it did Donnie Yen. But the last half hour or so of the movie was great. And I have yet to watch Fearless, but expect it to be amazing.

I knew Yam was the main charaterman guy going in so it didn't bother me. I can't wait for the second film. Fearless is great but there is some pacing issues and the missing 40 minutes hurts the film, but the fights are bad ass. I wonder how long it will be untill Jet Li unretires.

Did you guys know that this movie has alternate endings? :D

Jet Li had to actually re-specify what he meant by "retirement". He actually meant he was specifically quitting wu-shu movies, as any movies in which is uses that style, mainly the old period pieces like Fearless. Basically b/c he said his body really can't do it anymore.

Jet still says he can do action movies and movies where he kicks ass. So it's not all bad news.

SPL had some nice fights, but I was hoping the story would have been cooler. It seemed like it wanted to be Infernal Affairs + Fighting, but the story wasn't as good IMO. Also, I was hoping for more fights, but liked some of the MMA moves Donnie Yen incorporated into the Sammo fight.
I don't think so.
Maybe someone should do it, because their seems to be a lot of cag's who watch asian movies.

I hope Jet Li doesn't retire anytime soon, and I don't think he will. But I do remember reading an article where he said he almost retired a long time ago, but was persuaded out of it because he had a responsibility to his fans. And don't forget about the Tekken movie he's supposedly doing.

And I agree with many of your points on SPL. Overall it was a good movie. But going into it I was expecting an action movie, so I was kind of disappointed. Their definitely should've been more action scenes in the first hour of the movie, but the the action scenes at the end were great.
Will they ever make Rush Hour 3?
Yes, it's finally going into production. The studios finally gave in to Chris Tuckers crazy money demands..but not his ridiculous final edit demands (I don't think.)

It was delayed b/c the studios said screw it at first, which is why Ratner was able to do X3. Chris Tucker is ruining X-Men too! Heh, I know..we haven't seen the movie yet..so I really can't say.

Also the Korean DVD of Tom Yum Goong will actuallu feature english subtitles for anyone interested. Not sure why the Koreans didn't cave in to the studios when HK and Thailand did..but good for us. Even though Korean DVDs tend to cost a bit more...but not as much as Japan.

I didn't hear anything about that, but I hope they actually do it.

And I finally watched Fearless over the weekend, and I think it's without a doubt one of Jet Li's best movies, if not the best. But I have to admit that I really didn't like the ending much. Sure, it's a nice moral ending, but it didn't leave much of an impact because it was way too obvious.
B.L. are you talking about the HK and Mainland endings?
Probably. The same thing was done with Internal Affairs. The DVD ending was different from the theatre ending. :hot:

(I liked the DVD endings more.)

What's funny about the Infernal Affairs Mainland ending is that Infernal Affairs Part 3 makes no sense(or even less, depending on what you think of the movie) because of it.

Also, I saw the Mainland ending for SPL first, and didn't know it...and actually thought my copy was f'ed up, b/c there looked like there was a really bad edit there. Turns out there was heh. At least IA bothered to film a new version. SPL just kind of left things out.

Yeah, can't believe they gave in. Somehow Tucker gets 20 million plus 20% box office while Chan gets only 15 mil and 15%. Go figure.

What Tucker wanted originally was final rights to editing the movie the way he saw fit. Which amazingly is even more outrageous than asking for 20 million.

I don't even think he's been in anything since Rush Hour 2.

You also have to figure in that Chan is also getting the Asian rights to the film. So in the long run, Chan is going to make alot more than Tucker.

To me, Fearless is Jet's third best film. Once upon a Time 2 with Tai Chi Master a close second are still my favorites.

Watched SPL last night, very glad to see Sammo Hung back in action, and he even played a villain.

My local video store hasnt recieved fearless yet, hopefully soon.

I always thought Who Am I? was one of Jackie Chan's most underrated movies. And I hated the fact that it never had a theatrical release, but instead went straight to HBO.

about the rush hour comments..does chris tucker know that they could throw in dave chapelle or martin and nobody would notice or care that hes not involved?
Hes not worth 20 million.

Yes he is definately not worth 20 million, now dave chapelle as jackie chan's partner that would be pretty crazy. :) Chris tucker is funny, but still not worth the 20 mill.
