[quote name='Nicko']My fam just bought the Sony 34" Widescreen CRT HDTV about a month ago, and we love it. It is KICK ASS for gaming, and suports 480p, 4801, 720p, and 1080i. Also, CRT's have THE BEST picture quality out of ANY other type of TV. We did tons of research on the various brands, and decided that the higher quality was worth the $200 difference. Go with the Sony man, it will rock your world, and probably last considerably longer than the other brands.

Yeah like I said I WAS interested in the Toshiba as well(looked to be the closest qualitywise) but the Component doesn't support 720p. Yeah I came up with only getting a CRT because of the various picture issues with the others, like one doesn't support true blacks, etc. I WAS originally thinking of getting a bigger Samsung WS HDTV CRT but then when I read about the red complaint I started looking at these others. I don't get why some of these highest end models don't support 720p considering at least one big name channel supports ONLY it in HDTV(ESPN).
I already know the type of decoder I plan to get but now I deal with the problem of finding some excellent speakers to go with it. I was thinking Nakamichi's because I heard of how good they are but they COME with a decoder. X-(
