The 3rd Annual Cheapy Awards

Update: The Awards Forum is now hidden so I can prepare the Awards Ceremony.

This thread houses general discussion for The 3rd Annual Cheapy Awards.
The Awards are currently in the me writing up the winners phase. Please cast your votes in each of the categories. You may vote once in each category. Results will remain hidden until voting is closed.

Might want to add "video game" into the titles of the online retailer categories which are specifically restricted to sites which sell video games because when I first read the "Best Online Retailer" I was going to nominate deepdiscountdvd.com.
 
How about a Best & Worst Shipping Service Awards (I mostly say we need the worst) as I know there's plenty of hate, and maybe some love, for the USPS, FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc?

Since CAG has expanded so much how about a "best new forum thread" although it'll probably just be a stroke for you Mr. Cheapy as "your man in Japan" is sure to win.


Oh... and I'd like to see a favorite OTT title award, sure they may all seem to be the same, but I assure you they're not.

I think the more politically correct "Most Annoying CAG" would be a better vote topic, since they tend to be far more annoying/a PITA than being a villian or evil.

Problem is, I don't think we could just pick a list of a dozen or less for that, since we do have 46,000+ to vote with. :D

I came in here to suggest this too. It would be a good category to recognize people who seem to break all the big deals, like those who post advance notice of sales at TRU, Circuit City, EB, etc. Also, a place to recognize people for resolving trading conflicts or for frequently giving advice to other CAG's on products, games, or whatever.

Best deal on a single game (like getting RE4 for $10 at TRU)?

I'll second favorite CAGcast and CAG Hero too
 
If there were game categories, I think we should go with something like the best game that could be bought for $5, $10, $20, etc. They would have to be from deals posted on the site and it would show what the truly great games we were able to pick up for cheap were. I think it would give a good representation on what the site has to offer and possibly a good incentive for casual users to visit the forums more often. Just a thought.

i was talking about electrictoy, that should be the unanimous vote
 
We should do something like a high school mock election type deal. Categories could include most popular, best avatar, whiniest cag, best moderator etc... I'm sure someone could photoshop up an awards page for this in a high school yearbook type layout using the winner's avatars.

Most Annoying CAG.

I want to nominate some, but I don't think they really classify as villians, just attnetion whores, and therefore more annoying than evil.

Even tohugh this means MORE attention, still.

How about making it troll of the year? Like you said, villain is not the right status for some of the people being nominated, so how about an award just for them?
 
I'd like to see any category that has "What is this $10 Best Buy coupon you guys are talking about?" as the winner/answer. lol

That should have been one of the first things included. Might as well break it down by system too.

Most Controversial Game of the Year would be a good idea too. Although, it is pretty obvious what would win that.

Just to clarify, since I've seen it in a few of the discussions:

Are we supposed to stop nominating something / somebody after they've already been nominated previously in the thread, or

Should we continue to support listed nominees until they show up in the "Nominees" section of the Original Post?

How about "CAG's weirdest Poster"?? I'm not saying that they have to be a villian. They just have to be a person who makes weird posts.
