This is an awesome deal...rivaling that of two year's ago's Christmas famed $20 off $50.

Time to buy some games @ $20 off!

EDIT: You had to use the old $20 off $80 in order to get the $20 off $60. If not, you just had your $20 off $80 renewed.

I am tempted to get GOW and Crisis Core with this but GTA will be taking up a lot of my time shortly. Too bad this does not work on pre-orders. Anyone know when this expires? I did not get an email. I just added stuff to my cart and checked out with Google check out and it added the promotion.
California tax kills all deals, but that's beside the point
Doesn't kill Amazon deals. The fact that Buy.com also charges shipping on many games makes this even less of a deal. Buying $80 in games would have cost me $12 in tax and shipping. Net savings was $8 which just isn't worth it.
I just did some research...

I just got the renewed $20 off $80.

Still don't think there's anything I want to use it on.

This "coupon" is basically worthless for any one console game (save maybe the music games), but it's a pretty damned good one for two DS/PSP games. I got Dragon Sword and Apollo Justice for $44.83 total (no tax in my state, chose the longest-but-free shipping option).

Can you select Google Checkout to see if you get the coupon before approving the deal?
I'm afraid once I sign in it will process the order without me seeing the coupon.
Not an entirely gaming related question, but...

I'm considering buying this router: http://www.buy.com/prod/linksys-wrt...nd-router-with-linux/q/loc/101/202046565.html

With the 20 off it'd be 53 dollars and then there's another 10 dollar off rebate making it 43. Anyone know if I'm still eligible for the rebate if I use google checkout instead of buy.com's standard checkout?
should be okay... you have two receipts anyway.

Can you select Google Checkout to see if you get the coupon before approving the deal?

Yes, I had to click once or twice beyond "Go to Google Checkout" to actually submit the order. You'll get a chance to see if the discount is applied or not, I guarantee (e.g., you need to select the shipping option and confirm the order).

Where would it show the coupon on google checkout? I had the 20 off 80 previously, but nothing is showing up this time I think.

I've never gotten a coupon from GCO and I have three accounts with them. I run my own mail server so I know it's not getting spam filtered. Some posters mentioned getting them at their gmail and yahoo accounts. Any other email domains where people have been getting these? I would really prefer not signing up for one of those.

I suppose they have no way of knowing how often you use your yahoo account, but I wouldn't be surprised if in their infinite greed to collect all your data that they would do something like only send out the coupon to gmail accounts that are heavily used. So signing up for a gmail account is a definite no-go for me.

going to use this to pick up a rockband wireless guitar for 47 dollars shipped! nevermind google checkout wont let me pay for it.
should be okay... you have two receipts anyway.
Yeah, plus I just noticed it mentions the rebate with google checkout anyway so I guess the answer was pretty obvious. Good thing I waited though, they dropped the price down to 69.77 so now with the rebate I will be getting it for just less than 40.
Can you give more details on this? It's not working for me. What good is the coupon if you get it AFTER checkout?
Sorry, clear as mud right? I'll repost the explanation I gave in the last GCO thread (20 off 80). If it's still not clear, let me know, I would be glad to give further detail. Sometimes I are bad at the internet.

The gist:

"I never received an email for the offer; I've been signed up with Google Checkout for a few months. All I had to do was click the Google Checkout button under buy.com's "Proceed to Checkout" button. After I signed in with my Google account, the $20 off $80 appeared in magical green letters. Btw, I had to view the buy.com page in an IE tab for the Google Checkout option to even show up, my adblock extension seemed to be blocking it. Weird."

When you click the Google Checkout button, it takes you to a special checkout page (not the same as regular buy.com checkout page I believe) and a sign-in box for GCO appears. Once you sign-in to your GCO account, voila, the coupon appears.

I should also add that I had already surpassed the specified amount (80 bucks the first time, 60 this time) when I signed in to GCO. I'm assuming nothing happens if you haven't hit the mark yet.

Mine came in my Hotmail account.

I only used Google Checkout once before...but I do receive the Buy.com newsletters to the Hotmail address. Dunno if either of those two things factor into getting the message or not.

I very rarely use the gmail account linked to my GCO account. Like I said previously, I never got any sort of email offer/coupon. If I were you, I would try throwing something over $80 into my cart, check out and sign in with each GCO account, and see what happens. Worth a shot anyway.

Thanks for posting this - I never check the accounts I use for Google Checkout. Got the $20 off 60 and used it to get the complete Beatles scores and the Blue Man Group How to Be a Megastar 2.1 CD/DVD for a measly $40.31 shipped! Awesome!
hmm, got the 20 off 80, but that's not really a deal. darn. 20 off 60 woulda been nice
$20 off anything is a deal in my eyes. I used it to get the Daxter PSP bundle...I paid twenty dollars less, so it is easily a deal if you were planning on buying something over $80. Plus, I don't have to pay for tax, so that's another $12 I saved by not going to a store.

Thanks for the details. I signed in to Google Checkout after getting my cart up to $100 and I'm seeing my totals in GCO but no coupon. Guess I'm not cool enough. :(

Yeah I haven't gotten any e-mails for this special running right now. I also signed in with $80 worth of stuff and no discount for me either!

If I might suggest. for all you Rock Band addicts out there (like me), this official Drum Throne:

http://www.buy.com/prod/stagg-dt-32-drum-throne/q/loc/111/205867539.html

It's obviously a real drum stool so you can at least feel like you're sitting behind a real drumset. Geeky, yes, but it ships free, is only $33 and combines nicely with many Blu Ray movies to hit exactly $60 for this $20 off deal (I bought mine with Bonnie and Clyde on Blu Ray (great review on highdefdigest.com) which hit exacty $60). So with the discount, the drum stool ends up being around $22.77 shipped. ;)

Just a thought if you're wondering what to buy...

Wow, got one of my movies (Shoot 'Em Up) today. Might be the quickest I ever received something from Buy. What's really funny is that it shipped after the other two movies.

don't know what to get... on one hand, $20 off is great, on the other, darn, can't decide between Drake or Hotshot Golf3 (or both?)

I'll sit on it for another day. Most likely the offer gonna get extended. Heehee, if it does, you can pick up the new DS3 or even GTA IV...

Does buy.com pricematch their own site like Amazon does? The router I ordered earlier ended up dropping another 4 dollars in price so it'd be nice if I could get refunded the difference.

Edit: Got my answer. No :\

Damn dude - looks like price went up and shipping got added.

Would have totally jumped on this too =D

Just a head's up for anyone wondering, I have never received any of the e-mails but both the $20 off $80 and $20 off $60 worked, I just put items in cart and tried checking out.

just picked up the rockband wireless guitar for 58 dollars ( plus the Flight of the Conchords cd, cuz i had to get above 60) which ironicaly is the price listed at. So the coupon canceled out the CD, the CA sales tax and shipping. man i wish they had free shipping.
I picked up American Idol: Encore in a moment of weakness (insanity?)... I hope I don't regret it :p $44.99 after coupon...
i did too. i'm sure my girlfriend will love it and they have a lot of dlc.
