This worked well the last time we tried it...

What topics/news items do you want to hear discussed on the CAGcast?
Post links here throughout the week!

GTA IV delay and its effect on the gaming industry this fall.

That or the growing national debt and its effect on our country's gross national product in the future.

Nah, just GTA IV.

I consider myself a Soda afficianado. I routinley buy the Jones Soda half racks, cane sugar FTW! Prior to that, I was obsessed with Mountain Dew Live Wire soda. I was totally turned off by their first venture into the alternative soda flavor market called Code Red, hip, urban branding does nothing for me, and it tasted like cherry cough syrup.

My question: Is it possible that the new Halo 3 branded "Game Fuel" will not suck, as it is a combination of the evil code red and glorious live wire Mountain Dew flavors?

These guys think it will: http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2007/08/03/halo-3-dew-game-fuel-available-august-13th/
Will you dare to try it?
GTAIV delayed until 2008

Lair delayed (EGM gave it bad reviews int he latest issue)

Hey, here's a great topic, building on the LAIR delays, how about you guys talk about how you feel on developers delaying games becasue of review scores. You touched on it with Calling all Cars, but this is a retail game, and a pretty big one that sony has been hyping up

:bomb:

Here's just an overall suggestion. I know the 1up Yours show does this but I'm stealing it from them.

The editors basically go through the forums and find the most interesting thread, then give their thoughts about it. IDK how crazy the CAG forums are, but some of the threads the 1up guys come across on their boards are ridiculous.

Also, Cheapy, if you're looking to do Live shows again, may I suggest nowlive.com. The site looks really myspacey (it kind of is), but they do their job well. They handle a movie podcast I listen called The Movie Blog Uncut, which I think is the best movie podcast out. They give each show a producer to handle calls, PMs, chat messages, etc. The producer then either connects the caller, or reads off the PMs or chat messages.

Everyone's choosing GTA IV, so I'm nominating other stuff.

Warhawk for $39.99, 1up point deduction to take place despite dual release (they promised)

Just in time for Cheapy to send his 360 back, Microsoft gives us a website to help mourn the death of 360's:

More hype for Metroid Prime 3. No one's talking about it. It just needs more hype so people will buy it. Great games should be bought, not not bought.

Age of Conan:Hyborian Adventures or Warhammer: Age of Reckogning impressions or any upcoming MMORPG impressions. Not to big on the PC games it seems.

SSBB - Lack of online features and still unconfirmed online play.

Hearing about what gaming/culture in Japan is like is intresting too.

why the rock band bundle for the 360 is $199, but comes with a wired guitar, and the ps3 bundle is $199 but comes with a wireless guitar, yet the wireless guitar you can order without the bundle for the 360 is $79, which is the same price as the ps3 wireless guitar ordered seperately... also, why is it that Guitar Hero 2 for the 360 cost $89 with guitar and that included the game, yet with ROCK BAND, the game doesnt come with the wireless $79 guitar..... thus, you have to pay $140 just to play the game (wireless guitar $79 + $59 game)...

pisses me off a bit... the bundle is pretty much your best buy b/c for $60 more you get drums and a mic..... I now own a ps3, wii, and 360 and usually buy games for the 360 first, but the wireless guiar with the $199 ps3 bundle has me leaning that way (sorry Microsoft, you just lost one customer on the $199 bundle since you have to charge devs $$ for that wireless tech of yours)..

I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on the various Cons that have been happening. Obviously E3 is the big gaming conference each year, but now video games are being announced/previewed at ComicCon, BlizzCon (and other company-specific conferences) and console-specific conferences.

There's obviously no way someone like Cheapy can attend all of these, even with the help of Wombat. And it seems like there's a new one every week. Do you think that these more fan-based but specific conferences (like probably a ton of World of Warcraft fans were at Blizzcon for the expansion announcement) is going to be the way these go in the future, especially since the press wasn't exactly giving standing ovations to the E3 Keynotes? Or do you think these smaller conferences will eventually become so prevalent no one in the "press" will attend, and they'll just turn into fanboy conventions for each specific market.

How about talking about how the Wii is still hard to find this far after it's release? It's been a good 10 months and people still post on forums when a store is going to have some in stock. It's the middle of fricking summer when no good games are out, so these things should be easily available at any retail outlet. At some point this stops being hype, and starts being a company manipulating the public. How long do you think this will keep going before consumer backlash hits?

I agree , Sony and it's fanboys are always looking for their "knight in shining armor" game .
They usually put out something halfassed Motorstorm incomplete , GTHD aborted turned into a "demo", Calling All Cars last minute delay after being reviewed . Now Lair .

New contest "Guess Wombat's name !"

Your thoughts on the now-official Xbox 360 price drops and new 65nm roll-out.

Or how about that dashboard update? What do you guys think it really did?

Or the Wii update? Is Nintendo doing enough?
*suposably*
I'm not usually a vocabulary Nazi but this word irks me to no end. The correct term is "supposedly."

Cheapy - what's the status of your 360? Did you bite the bullet and purchase a Japanese core system or are you still using the towel method?

Also, with the new baby news, when will Wombat share his seed with the world? Is Zelda going to be Mr. and Mrs. Wombat's only little bundle of joy?

Just in time for when Cheapy has to send his 360 back. The entire fiasco with 360s, falcons, HDMI, price drop, manufacture dates, etc. Liked to see you guys' input on this as Wombat and yourself have both had red ringed 360s.

Any info on the Speedy/DVDTalk situation...

As for GTA4 it could actually be a good thing for game publishers. Other large publishers like EA and Activision could benefit with a high demand title slipping, freeing gamers cash up.

Comments by Ubisoft's CEO about the possiblity of a EA buyout after EA increased thier stake in the company. Whether large publishers like EA/Activision are good or bad for the industry.

Obviously, the 360 price drop.

How Boogie for the Wii is garbage and third party still is like N64 and GCN.

Bioshock.

Warhawk.

No madden!

How about you don't talk about stuff like GTA 4.

Like seriously, it's been done to death, choose something new and exciting because I know alot of us listen to lots of podcasts and I also know that between the two of you you can talk about much mroe interesting stuff than "what happened this week".

Keep up the great work.

This should be followed with Developer theatre. Should sound amongst the lines of "I know we just showed the damn game at E3 and let M$ say it is still coming out this year but let's not tell them we intend to crash all their hopes of seeing the game this year with that fancy press release (insert bong sounds) Great idea man!!!!"

too much FPS talk! Why cant there be something different! dont you get sick of them? Its seems the big companies think theyre driving the market right now at the same time hampering creativity of development companies, If you want FPS buy a PC!

I second the SSBB disscussion in the Nintendo segment. There's a lot of info on the game that you have not discussed yet such as the stages, fighters and items that will be in the game. It's not like you have anything else to talk about in the nintendo segment besides Cheapy's new US Wii. Oh yeah tell us what you think about Everybody Votes Cheapy.

I say new Cagcast should focus more on cheapy lifestyle in Japan. Like how did you feel about moving to Japan when you made that final desent were you scared?

Hi Cheapy and Wombat,

If its not too late, I was wondering what your thoughts are on the fact that there is downloadalbe content in the form of an extra area of the game available for Blue Dragon already, despite the fact the game itself isnt available yet. Does this confirm your fears that developers are purposely holding back content from the game in order to hit the gamers with nickel and diming tactics later or is this just a benign event, as Blue Dragon has been out for some time now in Japan?
