Thanks. I was able to order the case by itself because I didn't know which Cinderella to add to cart. Hope it ships. There are 3 different skus for the upcoming 2-disc blu-ray on bestbuy.com. I have no idea what the differences are. Anyone know?

Gold cover variant?
SKU: 5622347

And these two have the same cover with different title placement?

Amazon has a box set of Cinderella 1, 2, and 3 for about $40 link

I will jump all over the steelbook, though. I'm trying to collect all of the Disney Best Buy steelbooks.

This should be in-store before too long, and should hopefully have the same rules as past in-store steelbooks-with-preorders.

Like the Lion King trilogy all over again, either go with the UK release for something "normal" or pick up the individual movies.

So just to clarify, the one in the OP ($7.50) is the DVD only version even though the picture shows bluray?

The three bluray ones (posted further down) are $30 each?

EDIT: or... is it just the case for $7.50???

Yeah just an empty case. It's Blu-ray sized and should have 3 disc slots (BD, DVD, and Digital copy).

I'll likely just buy the case from BB, as my Amazon order has an $8 coupon attached and with taxes (damn taxes) it comes to $23.91. I'm expecting the regular price to drop closer to release date so it should come in under $20 when it ships.

How it's supposed to work in-store is that you put down the $7.50 for this case and it works as a pre-order bonus for pre-ordering the movie. When the movie releases, you bring in the receipt for the case and the $7.50 is supposed to apply to the purchase of the movie, which nets the case out to be "free" with the movie purchase.

However, most people just buy the case online and not worry about the hassle of the in-store purchase of the case + movie purchase later.

Bestbuy.com question: Shouldn't adding one of the Cinderella blu's and the metal case cause the $7.50 to zero out? It's wanting to charge me $37.49 to get the 3-disc set plus the case.

Side comment: Glad there's a special metal case because the 3-disc cover is fucking ugly.

I don't think the offer is "live" yet. Usually there is a page set up where you can add the movie and get the case for free. That offer isn't always online though for all movies, sometimes they just sell the case separately online and the only way to net it for free is in store.

At least with the US Cinderella set, you can just toss or resell the jewelry box and have a nice book to hold the discs. Wasn't the LK one just a piece of foam with slits to hold the discs?

Only time I've seen it work right in quite some time was the Prototype 2 steelbook that came with Prototype 2 pre-orders at BB.

It also works for the Cars 2 Steelbook they're trying to clear out.

I guess I should lower my expectations for bestbuy.com. They can't even get the disc count correct.

Ithink I will get the box set, since my daughter enjoys all 3 movies.

I never ordered from other Amazon sites....what is the shipping cost to the US?

Thanks OP. I'm glad "shipping" is the only delivery option available. When I preordered the Lion King steelbook, the people at BB didn't understand I was preordering a steelbook case. I came to pick it up and of course they didn't pull it from the shelf. The cases sold out, so I left empty handed.

I remember the same thing happening to others. Please never do in-store pickup for these at Best Buy.

It tells you the total cost, shipping included, on the final process of the checkout page. It's usually right around whatever the cost translates to on the Amazon page.

/edit: I went through the process and it came out to $39.48.. so.. like I posted. About $40.

The added bonus here is that Cinderella comes out next week in the UK, so you will have it before it even releases in the US. II and III don't release in the US until late November, so you're 2+ months ahead of the game there.
Nice, I'll check for it in-store next week.
Anyone try to pickup a prototype 2 steelbook they want 49.99 or more for an empty case

That was just BB's way of making sure you actually bought the game: $50 for an empty Steelbook or $60 for the game plus a free Steelbook.

I'm not a big fan of the idea, but I get where they were coming from

They changed it to $50 as a standalone item and it was still free when purchased with the game. Would also only allow for the game being returned at $10, as well, so it was a great deterrent.

Yeah, they also had a clusterfuck keeping the versions straight. People who ordered a G1 got a G2 and vice versa. I did in-store pickup and had to track down my own G1 after they tried to give me a G2 with my X360 game.

The full price for the Ghost Rider 2 SB was a glitch in their system and it was fixed in a few days.

What is a G1 and G2?

There are 3 Cinderella movies? O_O
What is a G1 and G2?
Pretty sure that means DVD-sized and Blu-Ray sized cases, though I don't remember which number correlates with which size

G1 is DVD, G2 is Blu

1 movie 3 different packaging.

BD+DVD+DC Combo Pack
BD+DVD Combo Pack

Spanish BD+DVD Combo Pack

Picked up the Prototype 2 Blackwatch edition today and they didn't even scan the steelbook. There was a yellow sticker over the barcode, so I'm wondering if things have changed.

There are also two sequels to the movie. Thus 3 Cinderellas.

For this release, yes, you're right, two combo packs and one additional combo pack with digital copy.
which route did you order with? delivery or in-store pickup?
Delivery. It was the only option at the time. I just made a second order for in-store pickup (which wasn't available earlier). Hopefully that order goes through and I can just cancel the shipped to home order.

Now the fine print says limit 1 per customer. Minimum 6 per store. So I had to order online with ISPU.

I must call out-of-state Best Buy (ex. Texas) for SoCal's stock availability. So I don't need to call at 10am at PST. ;)
but you'll lose out the $5/$8 DMR coupon
I missed the amazon coupon. What's the best way to combine for BBY?
I missed the amazon coupon. What's the best way to combine for BBY?
Pick up your order but before you pay just cancel it out, then go ahead pre-order it normally to avoid returns on your RZ/DL record.
Or just order it for in-store pickup like I did
Went ahead and did that, hope I don't get a dented one. At least half of the Avenger's SB were either slightly dented or lightly scratched (enough to tear through the shrink and mark the case) when I went and grabbed mine. I think they let raccoons and orangutans open the boxes and shelve them with honey-badgers doing QC.
