Since this is another vague Circuit City sale, I figured it would be a good idea to make a list of the prices that everybody is finding. I checked a few games and this is what I came up with so far. It looks as though most $19.99 games are just ringing up as $14.99 and the $9.99 games are $4.99. It's a small list because I forgot what games I checked, but I'll probably remember some more and add them later. I included the games that were in the ad as well.

Have to get Castlevania then

Since CC takes competitor coupons, Theif 3 would be only $20 after the Target $15 coupon! (Scans at 34.99 - 15). Since some might doubt it would work since the game is on sale, I believe it would because the special price is what it scans at, and most employees would not know its already been discounted. I already own Thief 3, but anyone interested should try this! The game is very worth it IMO

went back and picked up for $5 each (all xbox)

Batman: Dark Tomorrow (yes, I know it's crap)
Nightcaster (yes, I know it's crap)
Alter Echo (yes, I know it's crap)

when, oh when, will I ever find Shenmue 2 ? ...

my cc had shenmue 2...whats so hard about finding this game?

i will be picking up batman dark tomorrow tomorrow though, i have a certain fetish for buying crappy cheap ass games

When you go back tommorow, you should snag some Shenmue 2 copies for us CAGers who aren't having as much luck.

Are you sure Circuit City takes competitor coupons?

fair enough. I'll send you a sealed Batman: Dark Tomorrow - you had mentioned wanting one. . .
if its still in stock tomorrow (might not be, due to fast ass cheap ass gamers), ill pick up a few....id prefer to trade them for sealed games though...
I don't have any sealed games to trade, but I'll gladly re-imburse you for the game and your time. If there's anything you can't find at your CC, let me know. I will check mine again and see if they have it.

Yes, CC most certainly takes competitor coupons. When the Xbox controllers were on sale for 19.99 I asked if they took other company coupons and they said "Sure!" so I whipped out the $5 BB GGC and walked out with a $15 controller. Whoo hoo!

that'll sure be a kick ass deal on Thief 3 when it is $19.99..

then you can trade it for something better, like a better game, just came back from local CC, had quite a lot of Thiefs in stock.

$9.99 GameCube game:

Bloody Roar: Primal Fury (even though it should be around $7 because its original price was $11.96)

$9.99 GBA game:

Boktai: The Sun is in Your Hand

$14.99 GBA games:

Donkey Kong Country
Advance Wars 2
Golden Sun 2

$24.99 Xbox game:

Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge

$29.99 GBA game:

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance

shipwreck, you should put "NES Series" in the GBA games you already have so people don't get confused with existing titles in the same franchises.

Cool. I'll be doing this tomorrow. I actually printed a page off of CC's website detailing this policy (in case I get any friction from the clerk).

I looked at Castlevania today at CC at the price was marked $29.99 I should have price checked it.

Castlevania is $19.99 now normally, with the $5.00 off, it rings at $14.99. I know as I bought a copy yesterday. Mine was marked $29.99 too.

anyone know how much Onimusha 2 is?

played through the first one twice, probably play through it again but I think it is about time to move on

Nothing new, but a good haul regardless:

X-Box Halo $20
PC Halo $10
X-Box Midnight Club 2 $15
X-Box SSX 3 $15
X-Box Tony Hawk 3 (I know, not a big deal, but I wanted it...)

Not sure which Halo to try first...

went this evening picked up (last ones, sorry)--

Red Faction 2 gamecube $4.96
Wipeout Fusion PS2 $4.96
Halo PC - $9.99
SSX3 gamecube $14.99 (not really worth mentioning here but here all go)

at TRU I sifted through their BOGO and found Super Bust A mOVe GBA $ 19.90 and threw in Columns Crowns GBA (9.90 otherwise) because they had nothing elese I Wanted.

I'd play Halo on Xbox first to do the single player campaign and then move on to the PC version for multiplayer afterwards.

Does anyone know what Eternal Darkness is going for at CC? mine had about 10 in a bin all marked 19.99, I assume they will ring up 14.99, which is more then I want to pay for that game, but if it's 9.99 that's a different story. So does anyone know the cost?

Trustcompany asked for a link, and I ask as well, please post it. I've searched the site myself a couple times and haven't found it. My local CC does not accept competitors coupons (per the store manager), and they looked at me like a crazy person for suggesting such. If the policy is detailed online, that would certainly help my cause.

I used a GGC at my local CC a couple of months ago with no problems. They actually gave me 110% of the difference so I saved $5.50 off whatever I purchased... forget what it was. I suppose it depends on the management whether or not they will honor the coupon. I'd be interested in seeing this policy in writing myself.

Yeah, same here. I've asked a couple of times of different people at a store in NYC, no dice.

hmm.. danm,... maybe I am out of luck - the page I was referring to is just the *pricematch* page - it doesn't actually talk about competitor coupons:

http://www.circuitcity.com/cs_contentdisplay.jsp?c=1&b=g&u=c&inleftcat=Help+&+Services&incat=11061

I was hoping I could use the page to argue for taking competitor coupons. We'll see I guess.

I am sorry for giving the impression that I had discovered a page on CC's website that isn't there.

Tony Hawk 4: 14.99 (Marked 39.99 but should normally run 19.99)

I guess this may be more YMMV then I thought:

MetropolisMania was 9.99 at my CC

but I found
Unlimited Saga ps2 9.99
Transworld Surf 4.99
Bombastic! 14.99
Britney's Dance Beat 5.99

Actually the CC employee I talked to said it would be going on for 30 days.

I plan on picking up four swords for $44.99 with a $10 gift card on wednesday.

Went to Circuit city today and they had four swords. i askd how much since they told me $49.99 yesterday. they said it was $44.99. i said oh cool, went a head to purchase it and i asked about the $10 gift card. they said i could only choose one sale, the $5 off or the $10 gift card. i couldnt do both.

did i get scammed?

she also said something about it not being released until tommorrow, then why did they put it out then?

I'm very happy with this sale! I picked up the following games today at my CC:

Xbox
Alter Echo $4.99
Starsky & Hutch $4.99
Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance $9.99
Freedom Fighters $14.99
Pitfall - The Lost Expedition $14.99
Deus Ex - Invisible War $24.99
Thief - Deadly Shadows $24.99 (w/ Target $15 off coupon)

PS2
Wipeout Fusion $4.99
Castlevania - LOI $14.99

Gamecube
Billy Hatcher $14.99

GBA
Classic NES Zelda $14.99 (w/ free t-shirt)

good deal with thief 3

just watch out for that bug that resets the game difficulty, and you'll be fine;)
Actually the CC employee I talked to said it would be going on for 30 days.
Hope that's true. Maybe the recent BB $5 game sale spoiled me a little bit, but CC's pricing on some of the games is driving me nuts. You have the "newer", good games like SSX 3 and Metal Arms at $15. Then most of the older, not so good titles at....$15. Anyway, my lunch visit didn't find anything that I was too excited about. Did notice that Turok and Robotech Battlecry were marked at $9.99 so they are most likely $4.99 games for the Xbox (didn't have them price-checked though). Turok and RB are very cheap everywhere else though too.

Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter is $4.99

Thanks to everyone who posted on this thread - I purchased BOF, Shenmue II and Wild Arms 3 last month for $6.97, $9.99 and $9.96 respectively. I took in my receipt today and got $13 back because of the new pricing!

Also, Ape Escape 2 is $14.99 and Final Fantasy X-2 is $34.99.

REREAD THE THREAD JAMMR!! $5 off.

PS I work at CCity and I can tell you ALL games, for EVERY console and PC are $5 off.
Er, wait... I had Jet Grind Radio for GBA scanned while I was at CC earlier, and it came up $19.99 instead of the $24.99 it was marked. That $5 off thing didn't occur to me then. D'oh!

-Hoshi
Um.... dude. it was marked 25 and it rang up 20 .... dont you know how to subtract?

These cheap $5 games combined with GameStops trade in 3 games get an extra $10 credit turns out perfectly because then you can do the Buy 2 get one free deal. You are practically getting the games you really want for $5-10

My CC has Shenmue II, It's priced $19.99 but rings up the $4.96 price. They have a few left if anyone is interested in making some good trades, either on the BB $4.99 Games, or other PO Games with instructions and cases.

very interested in shenmue 2 . . . I can send you cost + shipping + labor.
