No, post away. CC PC clearance info is the CAG equivalent of an untouched oil reserve. Plenty of great stuff to be had... nobody has a clue on where it stands. I haven't seen concrete lists of CC PC clearance games in a long time on CAG, but I believe they are priced much more aggressively than the console stuff. Plus, they aren't listed the same way that console games are as the markdowns occur.
They had a big bin of games. Most were pretty kiddy games. They had shivering isles, tabula rasa, and the one's I grabbed.

I often ask for a price check on older pc titles, and they dont drop that much, still waiting for them to drop to 4.97 but right now they're floating at 29.97 and such

Took a copy of Big Willy Style back to CC because I wasn't too crazy about it and didn't think I would ever play it. Girl at the counter went over it with a fine tooth comb. Looked at all the seals and especially where you open it. I asked her if they have been having problems with people slicing them open and she said yes. Right after that she went into the back. Not sure why, but, when she returned she got out a box cutter and opened the brand new, sealed, copy. Didn't really bother me, but I thought what a shame that someone else that might want it wouldn't get it. I told her that it was a shame that she had to do that. She said it didn't matter and that they won't get charged for it when they send it back. What a waste. From now on, I will just recoup my cost either here, ebay, or Goozex.

Just wondering, for people with game theft problems, are they in the hard plastic clamshells or are they just lying in the open?
I wish CC would add price check machines, it would make things so much easier
Thats how I feel about Best Buy. I found a Ninja Gaiden 2 Wallscroll at BB today and there was no price. I had to wait in line to bring up this item not knowing if I was going to buy it or not. Luckily it was still 99 cents that CAG reported weeks ago. So I walked out with my "huge" purchase. haha.

It's happened to me with games in clam shells and out in the open. Always check the side and even shake the case. You can usually hear the disc inside just a little.

Since they rarely have YMMV sales, it's not really that big of a deal. Most of their clearances are nationwide and somebody gets a list up fairly soon.

Yeah, I always shake these days, although its never happened to me, just too many horror stories.

Just a heads up....$15 off purchase of $100 or more coupons now at CC. Check at registers up front or thru out the store. Good for purchases 9/11 to 9/25 (i think)

Yeah, I didnt even notice the clerk dropped one in my bag until I got home. Mines is from 8/14 - 8/25 though.
Checked for Onimusha Dawn of Dreams and nothing came up in our system; the UPC is actually phased out of our system since it was clearance.

Also, the 20% off Clearance will be back the week of Aug 31st-9/3 as part of the Labor Day sales
Anyone know approximately how long the clearance games stay in the system before they are phased out?? (specifically, for those of us who missed the extra 20% discount on the August clearance games, will they still be in the system during the next 20% off clearance Aug 31-Sept.3)?

Yes. My recommendation is to buy them now and get a price adjustment on August 31. The two games I bought at $16.96 a few weeks ago were easily adjusted back to $13.57 after I brought my receipt.

Got the last Eternal Sonata in Dayton, but realized when I got home that the case has a giant cut through it. Thanks for the hard work CC employees!

Usually takes a few months, I think. As long as they're in stock they'll remain in the system. Once they're sold out, it takes a while for them to be taken out; i.e. a TV may show up as discontinued with none in stock but is still listed in our system(possibly for reference, I guess).

Mine has a giant cut too on the back of the case. I return it back to CC by the way if anyone wants it.
The CC's is in Market Place, Irvine, CA.
How many days do we get for price adjustments?? i.e. the extra 20% off clearance... I missed the last one too.
30 days. Just be sure to have your receipt handy.
I'm assuming the $15 off $100 excludes the usual?
Yup, various tvs, Sony Cameras, ipods, hardware, movies, music, laptops, desktops, software, gift cards, etc etc.

MMmmmmm Labor Day Sales....
For the price adjustment, do you only need to take in the receipt or do you need the games handy too when you go back to the CC?
typically, all you need is the receipt. unless they are being a tough cookie.
Got the last Eternal Sonata in Dayton, but realized when I got home that the case has a giant cut through it.
Same thing happened to me except that the cut was along the opening of the case and the disc had been pilfered. It was fun having to explain that to customer service, especially since I didn't think to check the case until the next day (no Xbox 360 at the moment). Who the heck steals niche RPGs!? :bomb:

Huh... one of the two I saw had that, too. Big, vertical slash right down the center of the back?

Weird. Luckily I noticed it before I paid, so I went back and snagged the other, perfect, one.

No his was on the spine. When the two halfs of the case come together, aka where you open it to take the game out to play it.

Edit: I got the id's mixed up. Two had Cuts form opening boxes on them, the other was pilfered by the spine.

Uhh.. you should check the CC sell/trade thread.
anyone who picked up extra Wario Ware and Fire Emblem, PM me, I will pay you.
thanks
20% off clearance is definetly a gooood deal. speaking of which hayward, ca CC has obscure and a whole lotta geometry wars if anybody's interested. saw a couple of excite trucks too!!!
geometry wars if anybody's interested. saw a couple of excite trucks too!!!
Were these games on clearence at CC? Im looking through the archives and I cant find anything about it. Are you sure you're not confusing this with the Kmart clearence?

Ah, I see. CC pulls out more suprises for me everyday >_

So the last copy of Eternal Sonata has a huge cut through the case because an employee opened it with an exacto knife. So I called to ask if I could get store credit on it and go to another store to get a replacement copy and the lady on the phone threw a huge fit about it.

Basically, she blamed me for it and said it wasn't that way when they sold it. I'm tired of being pushed around by this store so I interrupted her and said that it would be "stupid" for me to do something like this and that all I want is store credit to buy something else in the store.

Finally, she caved in... but not before stating that the store was going to have to pay for it in the long run. What's the problem, though? Why does this store fight returns so heavily!?

What is the deal with Eternal Sonata having cuts in it? I returned a copy I bought because it had a cut right down the center of the back of the case. Was in a hard plastic shell in the store, and when they took it out it went straight into the bag, so I didn't notice until I got home.

Was able to return it just fine, though.

Well I was "informed" that all circuit city employees only open games from the side... which is when I interrupted her to state that "obviously that wasn't true because I have the evidence that proves it." Then she got mad and just caved in, apparently they just need some drama today or something.

Seriously, I don't think I can even get clearance games at this store anymore. Incompetent employees who hate it when you return anything... it's just a hassle when you have to.

Wow. I'm more amazed that they let you return it, that would never fly over here.

That's what I was pointing out above... there's at least 5 posts in this thread about Eternal Sonata having a slice right down the middle of the back of the case.

Why just ES? Circuit City thing, or manufacturing issue?

The game probably was on top of the boxes of stock that CC was sent that week and met the business end of several a stockboy's boxcutter.

Yeah, I had the same problem at Best Buy when Blast Works was $9.99. The last copy at my closest store was sliced; the next closest store had one that was sliced, and one that wasn't. I also saw a sliced copy at a third store a few days later. I assumed that it had been at the top of a box that was sent to every store. I see random sliced games pretty often at big box retailers.

Wow, I had looked for Eternal Sonata a few times over the past few weeks, came up empty. Went to pick up Dead Rising today, just happened to browse through and found one stuck in between a couple of copies of Quake Wars. Swweeet!

Circuit City in McKinney, TX off of 75 and 380

Great Selection of Clearance Items:
Lots of Dragon Quest Monsters (DS), FF XII: RW (DS)
(not marked down, but should be $16.96)
Several copies of FF: VI (GBA) $16.96

Wii: Spyro, Townhawk, and a few others for $16.96

Lots of other stuff that should be marked down was still on the shelf, so good like finding some more deals.

Just picked up a game from Target that had razor cuts along the top of the box and it looked like it bit down into the plastic. Definitely from box cutters...

didn't read full thread so bare with me but other day I went and bough the last fire emblem at my store when something great happened.

Since it was the display copy (my store puts one of each title out empty box that you take to the service counter) I was able to get another 5 dollars off for being opened and the service guy made a not in case there was issues with the game and I had to return on the receipt for me. Think in the end it cost me 11 dollars total.

Quick CC related question... can I get my price adjusted (for the upcoming 20% clearance) at a DIFFERENT CC than the one I have the receipt for?? Anyone know??

I've done this many times at CC, so it should not be a problem

I tried it but they had different prices so I declined. I had picked up Drum Master for $16.96 and the other store I went to still had it as $23.96. They were going to do it for the other game I had on the ticket it though.

How is the Wii Spyro. Haven't played one before, what is a comparable game? My CC still has several copies. I'm heading there tomorrow and was going to look around and maybe get DQS, I'm still on the maybe train.
