[quote name='sarienanj']I went to my local CC during lunch. Sure enough they were 50% off. Selection was ok, but since I am a big time hi-def head, there wasn't anything that was priced below Amazon, for me. Still if you wanted to pick up a few flicks, and don't mind tax (though some also pay tax on Amazon), it may be worth it. Some titles were priced at $30 and after 50% off, HSM 2 would have been $15, to give you an idea. Eraser would have been $12.50 plus tax. But other than that, most I saw were $34.99, and Lost was $99 in my CC was well.
By the time the percentages are cut again, my store may be wiped out. The entire video game area was decimated, and people were buying fixtures already. As it goes with these liquidations ( I work for a major distributor, and have seen several of these "sales" over the years), you need to be careful you don't overpay, as many items are there at full MSRP.
As another example I looked up a BD HT system for my best friend, who just got into BD, which was $999, and marked down to $699. Although I have numerous BD and HD DVD players, I was just curious, how their "liquidation" pricing stacked up. At Amazon the same system was $649 already. Good deal hunting, everyone!

My local store had some good prices on the Onkyo receivers and had a ton of them in stock. They had the 506 and the 606. I mean literally 10 sealed boxes of each model sitting there on the shelf. I remember the 506 was $188, but I can't remember what the 606 was priced at. I know that $188 for the 506 is actually a decent price. The best I could find otherwise was a refurb from shoponkyo.com for $199. There is no way they are going to sell that many, so I think I'm going to check back next Thurs to monitor the price of that 506. If it gets to $150, it's mine.
I did buy a couple Blu's today. I got "The Rock" for $12.50, and "Die Hard" for $15. Both of those (even with tax) beat Amazon.
