I'm starting this in a new thread so that way its easy to find. I'm also including a FAQ on what is going on so everyone PLEASE read it BEFORE posting the same "is Halo going to be $7.96" and "demomanTNA I would marry you if you hook me up with Resident Evil 0 pretty pretty please" posts.

(If you are a hot tall big tittied brunette then I might consider it... especially if your name happens to be Traci Brooks lol)

FAQ

Q: When does this start?
A: Right now.

Q: How long does this clearance go on for?
A: As long as it takes to clear out these games.

Q: What's new with this Version 1.1 compared to the previous list?
A: Games that were $7.96 are now $6.96 and ones that were $11.96 are now $9.96.

Q: What if I see a game that is on the previous list that is not on this one?
A: Either most stores have sold out of that particular title (so in effect they decided not to list it again), or its not been dropped.

Q: I hear rumors of titles like "Halo" going on clearnace for $7.96. Is there any official word on this?
A: At this point of time there is NO (and I repeat NO) plans on putting titles like "Halo" on sale. However I'm not going to rule out any possiblity of such a sale going to happen down the road but for now there is no word on such a sale.

Q: I've noticed my local store has had many employees working the gaming area? Is this any indication of that sale that you just said is not happening as of yet?
A: More than likely your local store is both remarking the said titles that I just posted the list for along with preparing for the 360 launch.

Q: Are any of these titles available on CircuitCity.com?
A: Sad to say no. As these have been on clearance for a good month plus the .com site has gone through and sold the vast majority of what they had when the clearance first started. Henseforth why the titles are not coming up on the site as well as they have been removed (its pointless to keep a title listed when its no longer available on the site).

I'll try and answer any other questions throughout the day along with updating the FAQ in case I missed something that should be mentioned.

How do you enlarge the pictures? The text is too small to read.

Thanks. The only thing I'm interested in is RE0. Unfortunately, I don't think my CC's have any.

Billy hatcher might be interesting. i think I've seen that.

As of yesterday it was still coming up at $19.99 plus there is NO info on the CC internal site of any more major markdowns in the near future.

Dumb question for the OP: What do the "Value Bin $xx.99" titles mean?
I was guessing these were all GH/PC/PH games, until I noticed games with those abbreviations as part of their listing. Could you clear this up? Thanks. :)

The "Value Bin" ones are usually those most hated ones with the "Hot Price/Great Deal" type of stickers on em (recall during the $4.99 sale some games suddenly appeared with these on em). Its rather hit or miss with what games that are included - and its a pain in the arse when it comes to inventory checks to find what games they are as well.

"Burnout 3" which is a GH is on sale until the end of today (Saturday) for $10. :D

(And its the best $10 I have spent on a game in quite a bit)

Its hard to tell sometimes when someone is being serious and when someone is trying to be funny without emoticons or anything like that. Especially with the amount of speculation and such that has been going around here lately towards possible CC sales.

I'm doing the best I can to get all the facts so I can let you folks know. The best I can ask for is that this info is appriciated. :)

Sure is. Getting Onimusha 3 for $6.96 and the look on the clerks face when he rang it up almost cancelled out the disappointment from not finding more of the titles i was looking for. ;)

I believe you said your store potentially still had RE:0?
Any chance there's still some of these kicking around there too?

I can confirm that BOTH of those are long gone. In fact a fellow CAGer grabbed the last MMA after I looked up and down the area for a good 10 minutes trying to find it. :D

It doesn't look like this is online, as none of the titles I type in are on circuitcity.com. Sadly, the nearest CC to me is over an hour away, so any money I'd potentially save from this sale would be off set by gas expenditures. There isn't a great many games on that list that interest me anyways, so it's not a big deal.

Many of the titles have already been sold out on the .com site. I'll add this to the FAQ.
 
just went to my local CC and they had a few of the games i wanted but all their games were totally disorganized. i didn't feel like sifting through a few hundred games on the rack to find the ones i wanted. and, yes, i did check with an employee to make sure they were in stock, but it's still a huge pain. i hope they get that stuff sorted out.

Sad to say but its hard to try and get enough time to organize and get the clearance stuff looking good when there are 10,000 other things that need to get done (along with the floods of customers too). Yeah you'll have to shift through the piles but think of it this way... you might find a hidden gem in there so it might be worth it for you. :D

i'm not talking about the clearance stuff. i'm talking about ALL the games in the whole store. there's no order to them at all aside from being separated into gamecube, xbox, and ps2 sections. i don't mind digging through bins. heck that's even kinda fun actually. but having to pull out stack after stack of games on those mile-long racks gets tiresome.
there's nothing super amazing on the lists (although i'm thankful to demoman for them) so i'll see if i'm in the mood to look through again later.
 
Ah. I thought you were refering to the clerance stuff being unorganized (which I can understand). However for the games themselves to be unorganized is very unacceptable. Sounds like the CC you went to is really lazy in keeping their area organized. Tho that could be to your benefit as you could find titles that many other locations are out of (since other people might of been turned off from looking due to the mess).

can anyone be kind enough to type out those titles on the forum instead? for some reason my printer is not printing out those titles on column, row based format.

I'm finding the same problem at most of my local stores . . . CC, BB, Target, TRU . . . everyone has been keeping inventory low.

I know my CC will be mostly a dud these days. Plus, I am so spoiled that I have most of the games I could want:

Riddick $10 last black friday at EB
Onimusha 3 $7.50 at Kmart in Spring
Second Sight $10 at EB in Spring
RE0 $10 FYE a year ago
Siren $5 Target clearance
Gungrave OD $5 CC in Summer

The only real scores would be if you can get them to take the $5 off McDonalds coupon and get some PS2 games for $1.96 . . . I got many, many for $5 when many of these first hit clearance.
 
I could not find Riddick at the Emeryville Circuit City but I was shocked to find that they alphabetized the DVD section (!). Could it finally be, that C.City is starting to become more organized?
