CAGiversary!

After much anticipation I present...the CC 50% off sale! Let me preface the list with a few comments. This is 50% off the regular price--49.99 will be 24.99, 29.99 will be 14.99 and so on. The price that shows when the game is scanned will be the 50% off price. Essentially, the included games should range in price from $4.99-$24.99. Each individual title's price was not on the list and I'm not about to scan every game to find out. :)
Second, I was not able to confirm this directly since the price changes will be downloaded over Saturday night; however, this list is printed directly from CC internal website. I have no reason to believe any of these titles are wrong. This does not prevent CC corporate from changing these prices or titles at any point during the week. OK, I'm sure everyone is sick of me covering my back so let's have some fun...

EDIT: This sale is actually UP TO 50% off. The 50% is not guaranteed. Some will be 50%, some won't. I'll list prices for games as they come in. I apologize for getting anyone too excited.

EDIT: I've changed the format slightly. I'm listing all games alphabetically w/console listed after when necessary. I just don't have time to type multiple titles multiple times. You understand, right?

EDIT 2/6 3:35P EST: Well, it seems there has been a lot of hype and not much substance so far. This list is legit as the scans on page 9 will show; however, CC corporate is not known for downloading prices on time. There may be more price drops Tuesday morning since, if not all prices were downloaded correctly, corporate won't realize it until Monday then download them Monday night. There is also speculation that the sale will increased as late as 2/20-21 for the President's Day sale. Unfortunately, I'm unable to find out anything else until Monday at the earliest. I am going to go ahead and post prices that are listed on the thread by fellow CAGs. I can't confirm these so I'm counting on other CAGs for accuracy. Essentially, lower your expectations some but don't give up yet.

Thank you very much to twiztidjester for answering the many questions that came in while I was posting this topic. I appreciate your offer to help w/the list. I just wish I would have noticed it before. :(

Also to demonmanTNA for providing a scan of the list since I'm scannerless. X-Division rules! TNA on PPV Sunday, 2/13!

There are different value classifications for the generic stamped games. It looks like pretty much all of the value groups are included in the sale. These might not make a lot of sense (even if you work at CC) but check them anyway.

Well, I think this is it. Let me know if I left anything off or made any bad spelling errors. I will try to post prices as they come in. Happy hunting, everybody! :D

how much was mark of kri?
Hasn't it been $5 for a while now?
i thought so too, but when i checked last at my CC it was $23.99...
Ditto here.
Around November they bumped it back up to $24.96
If I were to buy the final fantasy XI for $37 than I would have to buy the network adapter too. It cost like $35 at cc. I would to cough up $72+tax. hmmm
but you don't have to buy it from cc for $35.....

This "sale" seems to be pretty iffy at my CC BM. Took a copy of the list and pulled a few games from the list (like Van Helsing, THUG2 and PSIOps all for XB) THUG was $39, Van Hesling and PsiOps were $20.

Nothing was marked in my store, it was catch as catch can I guess.

This pales to the $5 CC sale last fall - but I guess lightning rarely strikes twice.

I was nice to hope.

I just picked up the last PS2 hard drive at my CC for $37.49, when i saw it on the shelf, there was no price tag in sight, i just took it to be price checked and it rang up, hell yeah.
FFXI for $37? My CC has 'em in stock but they are marked @ $99.99.
Maybe I need to just get it scanned?
Yeah, mine was marked $99.99, but scanned at $37.

i doubt, i'll have any luck with someone finding me one, but none of the CC here in my area have any (already called) its kind of my last act of desperation before i give up.

i am REALLY hoping nobody buys any in my area :whistle2:[...i maynot get a chance to get out till the end of the week :whistle2:[

Just got back from my CC (Culver City, CA), and bought absolutely nothing. Right from the start, I asked for a printout of the red tag sales list (I played it semi-dumb, which I'm unsurprisingly good at). The list had only a fraction of what was scanned on page 9 of this thread, and featured virtually none of the games I really cared about (Ninja Gaiden, Viewtiful 2, Kirby). Here's the list, for what it's worth. Those listed as "on sale" are likely not discounted further. I suggest you ask for a copy yourself if you go to a CC, though, as your store's list may be different.

Wow. My place didn't even have Castlevania: LOI on sale. Decided to check on it and TOS - both were 50 and 20, respectively.

The only thing that looked interesting was LCD screens by Verge. ANyone know if they are any good? All of them marked at $50. Didn't matter which system - GC, PS2, Xbox. All were $50. GOing to look up reports on them myself here soon.

I checked my CC and the guy said that they simply hadn't gotten the list yet. I didn't know how to bring up the fact that I know the list without seeming like a CAG, so I left it at that.

This sale blows not simply because it sucks so far, but because for the next 2 weeks us CAGs will be in constant suspense over when this miraculous event ever does happen, if ever... sad

I could care less if everyone else is threadcrapping all over this. I got Taiko Drum Master for 35, so this sale has already been good for me.

Thank you OP.

People, please chill out.
Not every deal is going to be a massive 5 dollar per clearance or a corporate computer flub leading to an outrageous deal.
Chill. It's a shame the way this thread has gone... there's maybe a page or two of worthwhile content, a few pages of decent comments, and roughly 25 pages worth of whining and threadcrapping.

Oh, by the way...
If anyone wants any of the plug and play tv games, the entire line of them is 50% off right now.

Well, to play devil's advocate, I think you need to chill about people "complaining." While there are those who are just outright, "This deal sucks", most people are just voicing that there was no deal. Which, on Sunday, actually makes for worthwhile posts, i.e. letting people no that it was a no-go when they went.

Worthwhile content? That's a pretty relative term here... If you can say all but two pages of this thread is crap, I can say all but 5 lines of the OP is crap, according to your definition... but I don't. I appreciate the OP and the other CC connected people who have given us information...

You are indeed correct that not every deal will be the great one or some massive discount... BUT when the seeds are planted that this (even an UP TO 50%) widespread sale on a bunch of games - which the big list alludes to - then the expectation are not without warrant.

Get off your highhorse and just let it be. Not every page is full of threadcrapping and given the nature of CAG, you're always gonna run the skeptical bunch and/or not please everyone.

Usually when a topic is 34 pages long it's for a real damn good reason. That's why people are pissed.
Not to mention the HUGE list of games on the 1st page.

I haven't read this entire thread, but imagin my surprise when I show up to the register with about 10 different games and only a couple come up 50% off. I was somewhat embarrased. But then again, that's the only way to get in on the deal early. But like JAMMR stated, the expectations were set very high for this one. Too bad. Here's hoping that maybe some prices download on Tuesday morning.

While there are those who are just outright, "This deal sucks", most people are just voicing that there was no deal.

Speaking of high horses...

the CC that i go to got some unusual items in when i bought taiko drum master yesterday....old playstation 2 combo packs (network adapter/ atv offroad fury 2)
i had them scan it, but they came up 150

i hope they drop to half price :)

ZL?

Anyways, i may head out there tommorow and see what i can find. I need to get DDR for my PS2 so i can just pack up my xbox.
People just have to remeber that ALL deals are YMMV, no everyone will get the best of the best as far as employees or deals.
Mine had about 4 of the Drum Masters....but I was looking for the FFXI w/HD...and they were out.
Same.. looking for XI, not Drum Master and that's what they've got.

ok after my first score I decided to go to another circuit city. I asked for the list like before and they gave me the exact same list thats posted here again. They told me though that the pricing for the games worked like this

under 19.99 50% off
29.99-39.99 25% off
49.99 and up 10% off

or something like that

I picked up

silent hill 3 7.50
DOA 2 Hardcore 7.50
Unlimited Saga 7.50
Drakengard 10.00
Sonic Heroes (PS2) 10.00
Super Monkey Ball (7.50)
Final Fantasy XI w/ hard drive 28.50

yes they took 25% off the hard drive because it was part of the sale and between 29.99-39.99

The store manager came down and told the cashier to manually over ride them using this pricing system. I was pretty happy to say the least. Thats twice I got in on this deal, too bad not a lot of other people didn't get in on it.

Kind of disappointing, but typical Circuit City in terms of organization. Hardly anything was marked... what was marked pretty much matched what ViolentLee posted and not the huge list in the original post. No Gamecube games were marked at all, so who knows? What I do know is that they had those Red Dot signs all over the store, and I'd go to each one and there wouldn't be anything marked for sale. Isn't the point of a red dot sale to actually mark the products on sale with a red dot?

I'll probably pick up a Drummaster for the extra controller, though; I just bought one off half.com for $38 shipped and thought it was a great deal. I think I'm going to go back tomorrow with the list and see how things turn out, because I'd like to pick up a copy of DOA Hardcore.

All I picked up from this sale was Taiko. I had them scan Drakengard, but it rang up $19.9x.

PS2:

50% off:
Arc The Lad: Twilight
I noticed that at my CC, the price of this game has been raised to $24.99. It was $9.99. After the 50% off it still costs more than it did a few weeks ago.

I went tonight to a local CC and two girls said they were working on the red dots right now. I looked through the GC section and they actually had all the games I wanted. I had to go to a ATM but left my card at home so I am going to get some cash and head back up there and ask for a list at customer service.

My CC wasnt aware of the sale and none of the games rang up discounted. It sucked. I may go back later just in case there was some screw up.

This adds a little more clout to the "maybe it'll start on tuesday" hypothesis. Anybody up for checking tommorow?

I made my shopping list using the master list at the beginning of this thread and headed down to CC. I found about 8 titles that I wanted and headed to checkout. 7 of the 8 titles on the list rang up as regular price. The 'story' I was told is that 'titles vary by store'. At any event, I did pick up 2 Taiko Drum Master sets at $35 each. That's the best price I've come across to date.
Taiko Drum Master w/Drumcon (my store didn't have any)
I was there on Sunday, they had like 15 Taikos...on the aisle with the ps2 accessories..

There was jack shit around me. I took up a lot of games listed on the first page of this thread and NOTHING....very pissed walking away with nothing...really wanted a couple of those bundles and Castlevania: LOI, and Outrun 2, etc....damn it....Why are they so damn slow to update this shit iin their system...this must be EXTREME YMMV....

Are you serious?? That's so emo...

The HDD for around $30 sounds like a good deal for the Socom maps, but I am trying to save for a house and trying to avoid all temptations. Which is why I wonder why I still check CAG all the time for deals. I am not gonna go to my CC b/c they are never organized with the game deals so I always have to go up for a price check (Get the damn scanners in the store so I can check myself please). Plus I have soooo many games I still need to beat and I will be picking up NBA Street 3 and GT4 via gift cards, they'll be the last games I get for a while. :D

you may have to ask them to look in the back for the FFXI Bundles. My store had one on display , but more in the back storeroom of the store.

It's amazing to see what happens when you ignore what the CC reps say on the phone and just go to the damn store. Especially when it's something like this. I know when I went looking at one store yesterday, they didn't have a copy of FFXI on hand, and the guy looked at me like I was out of my mind. So, I figured there had to be something completely hinkey with that.

I checked with all of the CC's in my area over the phone and most of them said they didn't have FFXI. I figured they were just BSing me or just didn't have a clue. As I knew I had to find at least one of them, I took matters in my own hands.

So, after work, I made the rounds to the CC's in the area, which were six total. Funny thing is that when I looked around, all of them had at least a couple of FFXI's around, so I picked up one per store. Ended up with six of them, leaving behind at least a copy per store. If there's still a copy around at the stores after I've been there is a matter completely out of my hands.

One of them is put aside a CAG who asked me to pick up them one, the rest are for CAGs who didn't find them locally. Not the lightest thing to ship, either, since my postal scale says it's about 3 lbs 9 oz. for the FFXI box by itself. Rest are up for grabs, being sold for cost + tax + shipping, and since this thing is so heavy, probably would go media mail or parcel post.

And for anyone that wants to start the hoarding comments, I'll be amused to listen.
