This game was plagued with lag, with players dropping and blue screening randomly. It looks like we tied 1-1. We decided to call it a night with the match unresolved. We'll have to set up another game with them to decide the match.

Gametypes: TBA at the match

I've been talking with someone from the Penny Arcade Forum Halo 2 Clan, The Bees Knees, and they're interested in a clan match with us. They prefer 8v8, but it all depends on who we/they can get to show.

Here's their setup for clan matches.
The match setup we prefer is 3 rounds. The first round one team get to choose the map and any gametype they want. The second TBK gets to choose. And the third is some standard matchmaking map and gametype.
They have a message board set up for the clan with some strategies for each map. It might benefit to look those over.

Here's the list of players for the match, posted by craven_fiend
Alright guys, I've made the list of people who are going to be partaking in the clan match against the Bees Knees. Hopefully they will shed some light on the matches that will be taking place. But here are the 8 that will be playing and their alternates.

Playing:

Craven
Rabbitt
L1qu1d Night
Radjago
Chachi13
Jugsta
Samurai Fez
Jlarlee

Alternates:

a crispy donut
pimpinc333
StickyWaffles
CheapyD
Caesar312
Murc

And if possible, I'd like to try and get the group of 8 that are playing against the Bees Knees to be on tonight around 9CT to play some BTB and Major Clan Match games. Let me know if thats a problem for anyone.
just so you know, those guys are VERY organized. i've played with them several times before, and while we're possibly stronger individually, if you don't play tight D and have a plan on offense, you're fucked. i wouldn't suggested taking them on until you guys have done at least thirty clan matches.
Yes, these guys are pretty damn good.
They've got a pretty fucking silly clan name, BEE KNEES?!?! WTF?

Similar to the Cat's Meow. Suppose to mean "Hot Shit".

Exactly. Turn-of-the-century era term. I believe it's supposed to read like "The business," as in "I'm hot shit" as z mentioned.
Yes, these guys are pretty damn good.
Make them play with Gabe and Tycho...they would probably be the weak links, since they are probably pretty busy.

Then again, they may counter and demand you play with me.

I'm pretty sure they're not huge fans of the game, at least compared to the likes of SCCT. Though I've always wanted to play with Gabe ('Kado and I tried to get him to play SCPT with us way back in the day).

And yes, beware fellas. These guys were running strats and coordinating their teams before we even knew it was called "the Happy Meal."

You know, Tinwoodsman got us all started on this "happy meal" thing.

also, it comes from the ilovebees thing. silly boys.
also, it comes from the ilovebees thing. silly boys.
Well, yeah. That's just so terribly obvious that I didn't think it warranted mentioning, El Capitan Obviouso.

I am down for a match verse The Bees Knees. However, for us to even have a remote chance in hell, we need to get a team of 8 that can mesh together and just have them play BTB and Major Clanmatches. And if they get a feel for oneanother, than good. If not, hell no big deal, its just a game. Atleast we can say for certain, that we will destroy Redvsblue and his "challange".

I mean come on, who challanges to a match and then is like "Oh it can only be 4v4. We only have 4 good players.". Its just funny.

But yeah, my 2 cents to this whole thing.

I feel the same way. Personally I don't care if we win or lose the match. I don't take a huge amount of pride for winning and I don't hang my head in shame for a loss either. It's just a game. Likewise, I'd like to get more practice in playing as a team and working the strategies. Clan matches are the perfect opportunity to do this. I'd like to start doing them more, regardless of whether we win or lose. If we drop a few, we should definitely analyze our games and see what's not working, but that shouldn't stop us from playing or we'll never get any better. Maybe we're not ready to take on the Bees, but if we can work together and accomplish something, that's a victory in my eyes.

Okay, so far the people I have that are interested:

RabbittReloaded
Craven Fiend
L1qu1d Night
Radjago

We need 8 to make it a match. We also need to decide which map/gametype we want. My suggestion would be 1-flag CTF on Headlong. We seem to do well there.
I'd be down for anything 4v4, or maybe TS 8v8, but nothing else as far as 8v8 goes.
We could pick TS for our gametype, but I doubt all 3 rounds will be TS. 8v8 Clan matches are usually BTB gametypes and maps.
Problem is alot of those guys are friends of mine and I had another account in their clan- they will be after me constantly. Also CAG has two clans- one is insanely good and its like 10 guys that play every night since launch- the other we could probably take.
According to their thread, Tinwoodsman is their 2nd alt.

As crazy as this sounds, the only thing I can foresee them taking us in, is a slayer type game. Other than that, albeit we are less experienced as a unit, we've been clicking quite a bit lately. I think given the right group of guys, we can beat them and make them eat those words.

Yeah I know. That's why I said the only 8v8 gametype I'd play is TS. Because I fucking hate BTB.

cmon trakan, be a man, play some CTF, or assault. You wuss
I'll pass, to let some obviously more qualified people take a whack at it.
Pfft. You'll play and like it. Or I'm going on strike.

SHRIKE or STRIKE! SHRIKE or STRIKE!!

Then go on strike.
wow, they have 98 members and only 13 clan matches total?
they are only a 4 in both major and minor clan matches
Thats pretty odd. I mean, for being so much better than us, they seem to lack initiative to do clan matches. Oh well, we've gotten a lot of practice out of the way in the clan matches we did over the weekend. So I think we are about another week or 2 from playing this match.

we really should finalize our list of people and start assigning roles and begin practicing with the group to take them on instead of whichever random clan members are on at night,
Also, I should have a new mike within a couple days, so we wont have to deal with my mike falling off my head at a crucial point in the game

I'd like to play if you guys won't have enough people (which looks like it won't be much of a problem). I haven't gotten the new maps, though (I'm waiting on the map pack) so if you guys want to do the new ones, I'll sit out.

If you need me, I can be available.
Obviously I am not very good, but I can follow directions well.

If you have enough people feel free to leave me out...

I don't see honor and sticky waffles being used in the same sentence. Maybe its just me, but they don't go together too well.

I played against both of them the morning after H2 was released. They played for a grand total of 10 minutes before leaving. At least I got to kill gabe twice

BTW I might be interested as a sort of backup plan, you know, in case 10 or more people drop out ;)

Gabe and Tycho respectfully (yeah I know, not that big of a stretch). Hell Tycho's even on my FL, though I have yet to play a game with him other than those 10 min on H2.
Seems like the last time G & T played was in March.
Not only that, but those games were for the Halo Humpday Challenge when they played Bungie. Prior to that, they hadn't played since the tail end of December.

Maybe they have other names they play with on a more consistent basis. And just use those names for official matches

No, trust me: they just don't like Halo.
