Club Nintendo is a joke; Don't your points expire every year? You practically have to buy every Nintendo release to qualify to get anything.

No, they don't expire every year.
I'm not sure when they do expire, but I have 190 points that carried over from last year.

However, if you want to qualify for Gold or Platinum status you need to obtain the coins needed within the year.

Haha I like your sig...

For comparison, you actually have to buy every Square Enix release in a calendar year to qualify to get anything from their club.

I would generally agree with your assessment, but I've still got points waiting to be applied from games I bought 4 years ago, so I've been able to get Platinum with only a new game or a two for the last two years.

LOL in 720p no less.

My Zelda poster shipped out today. I was checking the status online and it listed the price as $350.00? I highly doubt those posters are worth that much.

Well, to be realistic, it probably cost somewhere around $350 to get 350 points.

Hey guys quick question, are they still giving out Shop points for coins?

I got my Wii last week and haven't registered it or any of my games that qualify, but I wanted to get 3 games in the shop and they total 3200 points (Castlevania, Blaster Master, Sin and Punishment), and I'd prefer not to have 800 points hanging around. since the only thing I might have gotten is 900 points (Rondo).

(Wished they'd use real money instead, or let you get the exact amount you want...)

Not sure if I can get 800 points round up, more realistically I can get around 400-ish. (since I read elsewhere that was the going rate for points 400 coins = 100 shop points) I was just wondering this way I'd know if it's worth my time to register this stuff sooner rather than later.

Got to elite platinum status JIT! Apparently I had a ton of old surveys left to do, but every time I clicked on my to-do list nothing showed up...

Including the measly couple hundred coins I already had, I now have 740! I think I'm getting the Zelda Posters first, then the Mario ones. Other than that, not much I really am interested in - maybe the cards. For now, just the Zelda posters - hopefully something awesome comes along (that Galaxy CD would be so badass!)
130 points away. Since I'm still unpacking, I guess I'll clear out some old 10 point surveys.
Alas, with just 10 point surveys I will fall 10 points short... I shall have to find and register a DS game. Where is that box....

I just got Platinum Status for this year. I realized I have an extra Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon code lying around if anyone has anything they'd like to trade for it to bump them over the top as well. Send me a PM if you're interested.

EDIT: Traded away.
I'm trying to remember how this works... If I don't use all my points this year, they roll over to the next one, right?
Correct.

Sitting on my Mario Galaxy 2, 100 Classic Books Collection, DSi, & Starfy Codes until July.

I noticed the little Club Nintendo pamphlet that came with my girlfriend's DSi doesn't have a code, or rather, has a "sample" code. Do I just input her system's serial number instead? My XL actually came with a Club Nintendo code.

Serial # and take a look at the XL code, its likely the same as the SN

anyone have any spare codes? i just got over 600 coins, but realized that 50 of them were from april 2009, so they don't count. so i need 50 more coins to get platinum, so just one wii game would do it.

thanks if so.

btw i'll give someone my points next time i get a game if they can spare them now. i just would rather not end up with a flippin' calendar

How the heck can you possible have that many extra points to give away, unless you're stealing them out of display cases at Gamestop?

You may have quoted the wrong guy, and he has 300 coins' worth, not 300 codes.

Still regardless, how does someone have SIX extra codes for games they have already registered? I really doubt you're buying that many duplicates.

Possible they don't register codes at all and have no interest in Club Nintendo.

More likely, they're swiping them from rentals or something. ;)

Buy some Virtual Console stuff. You get 10 points per game.

But only VC games released past a certain point will give him points though. He'll have to be wary of which ones can.

Fml, I just realized that I could have registered my replacement DSi on a family account to get an extra 150 points instead of registering it on my main account. Lol, can't believe I didn't think about that when I originally got it. Oh well, got platnium already anyways, but it would have been nice to have the extra points for next year.

Good thing coins carry over to the next year. I'm at 370 atm.

About the only things I'm interested in are the DSLite case or the game bookend.

How do you register the netflix disc? Do you have to do it when you first get it or you're out of luck?

Does Club Nintendo remind you when your points you've gained a long time ago expire? I'm unsure if I should keep saving my points or if I should use it.

Do the codes inside of game boxes expire for Club Nintendo? I could get gold status this year with the few codes/surveys I have left, but I would rather wait since platinum next year will be easy after watching the Nintendo press conference .

I'm pretty sure unused codes don't expire. I recently registered a Metroid Prime 3 code and a Pokemon Pearl code and those codes are about 3-4 years old by now. Also, I totally agree that 2010-11 Club Nintendo year will be a cakewalk with what they have shown us so far.
If points roll to the next year, why are you guys sitting on them?
The points rollover each year- but to qualify for the club nintendo "elite" status, you have to register 700[err- 600] points worth of codes within the year. The year ends at the end of June.

I haven't entered a code into the system since last year because when the system started, they grandfathered in all of my previously registered games. It was enough to get my platinum status last year, this year (via unfinished survey's, intend to buys, bonus points, etc), and it looks like i'll have plenty for next year too.

It looks like it's only 600 for platinum this year (was it 700 last year?)
