Club Nintendo

I'm gonna cash in some of my Coins this week. I'm thinking either the cards or the Game & Watch Collection. What should I choose?
Also, do the h cards come with rules? I have no idea how to play the game.
They do. A guy at GameStop showed me his while we were talking about Club Nintendo. The cards are tiny, but they're well made, come with instructions and a really nice case. I'm getting a DS card holder with my points, but I wouldn't mind having the Hanafuda Cards.
Well, they released multiple games that have not been available at retailers (tingle games, G&W collection) both here and in Japan. It's definitely within their logic to do that... actually there are a lot of games that do that with pre-order costumes, etc. So it's definitely not unheard of.
I suppose but other than the costumes, their games have been physical copies to my knowledge, correct me if I'm wrong, I just see that if it comes out as wiiware they could potentially release it anyhow, it wouldnt cost them anything to produce and ship and they could charge for it right...

Cheers:D

Could they? Yes. Will They? Not Likely, as stated previously, the other Club Nintendo exclusive games have remained that way.

Additionally, I happen to think Doc Louis' Punch Out is a huge bit of fan service, which is right up the Club Nintendo alley.

Wow. I said wow. Now this is the kind of semi-useful trinket that makes me willing to go out and buy every piece of brain training shovelware under the sun. If Nintendo wants to use Club Nintendo to motivate me to buy games this is the way to do it. Oh, another good way would be to offer clear plastic DS game replacement cases. That would be shit hot.

I am looking forward to outbidding a few of you for those game wallets and that DSi case. I'll probably spring for the Zelda poster set as well if I can afford it. What's that animal crossing thing? So much for saving money this fall.

We've been owned. :[

If you click the button next to each item, they give you an additional picture which can give you a better idea of what it does. For example, the Kirby thing looks to be a frisbee. And I believe the Animal Crossing characters are refrigerator magnets that allow papers to be clipped on.

That's it.

I am going to make my own Animal Crossing magnets. With blackjack. And hookers.

And if I do, I'll upload templates so ALL can enjoy the bounty.

Yeah, I can confirm that the Kirby thing is a frisbee, the "Dobustu no Mori" (Animal Crossing) items are magnets, the Zelda thing is a poster set, then the Animal Crossing design cardboard storage box, original pen cases, etc..

Yay first year Japanese. :p

Intend to Buy button/option is now available for

Metroid Prime Trilogy Plan to Buy between: 7/24/09 - 8/17/09

Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box Plan to Buy between: 7/24/09 - 8/17/09

Thanks for the heads up, Arakias! Also wondering what to do: Hanafuda cards now, or wait for the refresh? Will the H cards go away??? Sigh.

I finally broke down and ordered some stuff. Got it today.
Mario Party cards join together to form giant 4x13 Mario Party 8 Cover art.

The MP cards are really quite nice. Heavy card stock with a textured coating that has the card's info embossed into it. Really hard to get a pic of what I'm talking about.

This is the Ace of Clubs - you can make out the lone club in the center of the card. All the cards are like this - and the face cards have the artwork "etched" into the texture. Really nice.

Animal Crossing cards are from Wild World. Neat cards. Go well with my e-Reader cards. :)

I've seen several pictures of the Hanafuda cards on line, but the pictures simply don't do the cards justice. Of course, they come in a neat little plastic case...
0725092154.jpg

The cards are super-tiny. Here's one on top of the standard-sized Animal Crossing playing card.
0725092157.jpg

They're a really thick card, with a plastic-like coating on them. Here's the 49-card set stacked up next to the 54-card Animal Crossing set. Notice the difference in the stack size.

Here's a pic of all the cards spread out. The 49th card off to the side there is a blank card with what I assume to be a serial number on it.

Thanks for the pics, UncleBob.

If they don't update the store soon, I think I'll go for that Hanafuda set. Those MP cards look really nice too.
I can't use the Club Nintendo code from a Japanese DS game on my American club account yes?
Sorry, it won't work. I've tried it.

Those Hanafuda cards look pretty sweet. I'm torn on whether or not to jump on those or wait and see if N rolls over the prizes.

I'm probably going to get the Hanafuda cards, but I need 80 more points. I'll get that from post-play surveys, but they aren't there for me yet. Hopefully the Hanafuda cards stick around through the refresh, or my post-plays come soon.

EDIT: I also really like both of the other playing card sets. I wasn't interested in the Mario Party ones until those awesome pics - love that they form a complete picture and are of such high quality. Dang.
I've tried a Japanese code as well - it doesn't recognize it.
thanks that good to know. i have a few Japanese code too . but , never try them

Give all them Japanese codes to cheapy so he can get us sweet sweet prizes for the cagcast. eh? ehhhh?
sadly to say, there is nothing I want from this set of items. impatiently waiting for them to change it.
Yeah... I'm not that impressed with what is available, I'd rather save my coins. But they will expire soon won't they?
Yeah... I'm not that impressed with what is available, I'd rather save my coins. But they will expire soon won't they?
The soonest coins will expire is June 30, 2011. Otherwise, any coins entered from July 1, 2009 - June 30, 2010 will expire in 2012.

I'm still waiting on a refresh of the catalog myself. While the Hanafuda cards look very tempting, there's not much appeal to them if you don't ever plan on using them. If we had the same catalog as Japan, I would be all over the soundtracks and Zelda poster. I will probably pick up the remote control stand at some point, if not because it is the only item I'm interested in at the moment.

I imagine (hope) we'll see a refresh around November-December, around the time of the 1 year anniversary of its entrance into the US.

If anyone has Clubhouse Games, the game Koi-Koi is Hanafudu. I found it really complicated, although addictive. My first time trying it, I spend 2 hours playing Koi-Koi, even though I only vaguely understood what I was trying to achieve. The cards looked so alike I had a hard time figuring out the sets.

I need Club Nintendo codes for the following games:

Thanks for answering my question utopian. Too bad I sold it and don't remember how to play that card game.
Got 70 points for Wii Sports Resort (intent to play). I thought it was 60?
50 points + 10 for intend to buy + 10 for early registration.

What is early regestration? Within what time frame?

I thought it's 50 for registration, 10 for intend to buy, and then another 10 for a post-play survey.

But the post-play surveys seem to come on a delay and activate maybe a week after registration . . .

Dude, you certainly do beg for a lot of free stuff on these boards.

That, plus 10 if you register to intend to buy and then buy and register within a short period of time after release. I forget the time period. So you can earn as much as 80 points for a Wii game, 60 for a DS game.

Hopefully it's at least within a week. I better register that thing tonight.
