CoD: Modern Warfare 2 - Gen. Discussion & Info-New Map Pack out June 3 (1200MSP)
Again, that statement doesnt mean much in this situation. Clearly any advanced user wouldnt get killed by the same camper many times thats not the problem.

The problem is......well there are some really really bad players out there who for whatever reason will never learn. People will always continue to get killed by campers in any match but only in CODM2 can someone end the game from camping.

Its annoying to have a objective based game lost due to 4 players on your team going 6-15. Your winning a domation 143 to 15 or something and wind up losing because 2 people on your team cant figure out where that sniper is and he gets a nuke.

Thats why I think people hate campers in this game more than any other. Me personally, I think there are more campers here than other games but still dont really mind it.......what I mind is losing a game due to sheer amount of deaths 2 team mates have.

If I start to win big in any objective I then spend most of my team making sure everyone on the other team is dying ever once and a while.
Ok so let me update what I said.

1. Use Killcam to see where people are camping
2. Use a mic to call out campers to the rest of your team
3. Play with people you know

if all of that doesn't work for you try camping. I have heard it works out pretty well ;)

1. Impossible, nothing can be gained from watching yourself die.
2. What the hell? Mics are only used from screaming when a map loads and calling people $$$s. You are clearly using your mic wrong.
3. I only know you and you refuse to play with me.

Now this camping you speak of......that sounds like the way to go.

I read #1 and was like WTF!? I started getting all riled up then I read the rest of your reply and loled.

Jesus fucking christ, spent at least 2 hours on Snatch and Grab on Veteran co-op and couldn't do it. Then I YouTubed some guy just soloing it by sprinting with the shotgun and I did it within 10 tries with a time of 1:23:00 and 5 kills.

If they are a SMART camper....

 1. They'll just move to a new spot & camp while they wait for you to come back.
 2. They'll just move to a new spot & camp while they wait for you to come back.
 3. They'll still move to a new spot & still camp while they wait for you to come back.

But then there are the dumb campers (99.9% of campers) who stay in the same spot, even after they killed you once. So it's easy pickings.

"As noted above, players caught using the glitch will be suspended, according to Xbox Live's director of policy and enforcement, Stephen Toulouse. That might not guarantee every cheater is caught between now and the time the patch goes live, but it should help to dissuade some of the potential abusers from griefing the rest of the MW2 community."
That's why there's a killcam. If you keep getting killed by a person in the same spot, you deserve it.
Yea, there is a lot of bullcrap I do not like in MW2 - but I've never had problems with camping and I don't understand why people complain about it. I never camp (just because I don't like sitting around: ADD) and I have not ran into excessive camping where I couldn't work around it.

The thing that DOES bother me is campers with tactical points that are working with an enemy to get a nuke. Game has a ton of more problems than camping atm.

I dunno if its just me or bad luck but MW2 tonight is unplayable. All games had a little lag where u would rubberband back but the worst was 6-8 of the 15 or so games had the game drop.
Was gonna try to make a run for prestige tonight but i guess not :/

Anyone else running into this problem? For me it was just tonight. I would occasionally get some lag or DC's over past few weeks but nothing as bad as this past 2 hours. Blarg.

One problem with the maps is that they are far to dark. To add to this, there are way to many places that are basically pitch black but are surrounded by places that are fully lit. This is one of the things that enables people to constantly camp
Agreed on all counts. I haven't seen much of the glitch exploiting, except one person trying to do the Javelin last night.

As for the camping debate, play how you want, sticks and stones, you know? The ones complaining the loudest about camping always either play like shit to begin with and need an excuse, or they camp themselves, and hate it when they play someone that uses a similar strategy. And then there are idiots that mistake stealth for camping.

My K/D blows too, and I try to play a solid mix of tactics. I'm just not as fast as I used to be back in the Quake 2 keyboard and mouse days...
My k/d isn't bad and I don't expect everyone to run out into the open, but when an entire team just sits in their spawn with heartbeat sensors (while ninja doesn't hide you like it should), camping has become absurd. I really don't care if it is one or 2 people, especially if they are new to the game, but 5-6 people sitting there with weapons like an ACR or M16 that are very powerful and accurate already just aimed in one area becomes very annoying. No worries, I switched to Domination to counter the camping, I always win if they decide to try that, so it doesn't matter to me now.

Yea, I agree with that. MW2 is much harder to move around safely compared to COD4. I don't really like any of the MW2 maps... it is missing those close knit ones that COD4 had. I miss: Crossfire, Crash, Downpour, Shipment, Showdown, Vacant and Overgrown.

Didn't you say you did the care package glitch and spawned a bunch of turrets on one map?

Enjoy your week ban.

It seemed they were having some server issues yesterday on the whole. The leaderboards/stats went down for a while, and there was a lot of rubberbanding, especially in FFA. It seemed to be better later on (130am-ish EST).

Did High Explosives last night on Veteran, man that mission is tricky to complete. 6 more Spec Ops missions to 3 star then I'll be done.
Akimbo rangers with the sprint class are cheap when used on me, but awesome to use on others.
Just wait 'til you get model 1887. Ridiculous range and accuracy.

Wow, I have never once said this about any one item in any game but those Akimbo 1887 are almost game breaking.

They practically ran the entire gauntlet of douche tool bag.

Also, I seriously think we should collectively report people doing the javelin glitch. I dont know how to go about reporting people but I will find out.

Soo many people use Akimbo 87's with marathon and lightweight now that they are changing the way I play.

I use to go tight around corners so if there was someone on the other side, I would close in with the knife and cut em.

Now I circle wide around corners, so if Kimbo 87' is round the bend, I wont be right up in his face and have half a chance to mow him down with my AR before he pulls both triggers and wastes me.

I love catching one of them out in the open though... lol.

Akimbo Rangers or Akimbo 1887s? I have used both personally, picked up some 1887s from kills and am rolling with Akimbo Rangers right now as my secondary. Opinions here?

Also, that Javelin glitch is getting widespread. By the time I get to level 50, the thing will be fixed and I won't get to fight fire with fire. I hate cheating, but I just want to try the glitch out. No-lifers and their getting to level 50 and higher so quick. I play this a lot, but only 47...?!

P.S. People have prestiged 2 times already and are into the 30s going for their third prestige? How much do these guys play?

Agreed. I snipe quite a bit, so when I nail an Akimbo 1887 user it feels so good.

BTW, sidenote:

Has anyone else had a recent 180 turnaround in success? I went from usually going around 17-15 and such to rocking with 18-4, 20-12, 20-14. Usually hovering around the 15-20 kills, with only 8-12 deaths though.

Awesome, the first game immediately after unlocking the Emergency Airdrop I got 2 turrets, an AC-130 and Counter UAV. Never thought I would get an 8-kill streak, but C4 + ceilings = ftw.

I fucking hate the Javelin glitch. I just played this online for the first time and it is annoying as hell to have people constantly resorting to that one goddamn thing. The care package glitch is annoying, too, but the Javelin is probably the most goddamn annoying thing I've run into in a game in a really long ass time.

Thanks to the Javelin glitch spreading like wildfire, I'm seeing a rather large dip in my K/D ratio seeing as they just need to die within range of where I'm at. Which unfortunately seems to happen far too often for my liking.

They better get the patch out fast because this is getting stupid.

So it's been mentioned before, but the whole last stand + flash/stun grenade to kill yourself thing is awesome. Although not exactly ethical. Thoughts on this?

I just finished the campaign. It was a fun ride, with some suitably epic set pieces and moments. Can someone actually explain the plot to me? Or is there somewhere that suitably summarizes the plot twists? Because I definitely do not have a good handle on what happened.

Was it just me or in MW1 MP, if you set a claymore and someone triggered it and you were close enough you either took damage or died? I just triggered one a second after the guy planted it and he was fine.

If a person has marathon pro and/or scrambler pro they can bypass the claymore and it'll go off late. read the description of the perks. scrambler pro is probably the best perk in perk 3 section imo. by the way, I told a few people yesterday online not to do the glitch or they'd be risking getting a ban and I got hate messages and they started talking trash..lol. Oh how xbl never changes.
Dropped my 2nd nuke......that is all.
I've dropped like 30. Nobody cares.

Ninja Pro is definitely best. Silent footsteps plus not showing up on heartbeat sensors. Scrambler is just about the dumbest perk out there because it gives away your position. As soon as I get scrambled I know to look for the guy.

Ya know... I was always wondering why the Javelin Glitch worked so well for everyone and when I tried it once, it was total crap... I was using the Stinger and not the javelin. I'm an idiot...

Indeed, I usually run cold-blooded and ninja to avoid letting enemies know when I'm near. Using Scrambler completely gives away your position

I'm not trying to be smart or anything but did the name not give it away? You're not the first person I know that's tried it with the Stinger instead of the Javelin.

Lordwow, you summbitch. How you been?

The javelin glitch is a monster, although I am confused at how the range seems to be doubled or tripled with danger close compared to a legit Javelin strike with danger close. I have been rocking it for a while in my explosive class and it never seem to have that much splash damage. I have been killed on the 2nd story of a building when the guy was on the ground a good ways away from the building.

But that might be just do to the nature of it being a glitch.

The more I think about it, I think Scrambler would be really effective if an entire/the majority of a team used it. A team could probably easily make 1/4th to 1/2 of the map "blind."

After spending a couple of more hours in multi I haven't really run into any more Javelin glitchers but I've run into TONS of Care Package glitchers. Hearing about enemy Care Packages coming every 20 seconds or so is crazy.

I also ran into my first Akimbo Ranger. It sucked but it was ohhhhh so satisfying when I finally killed the bastard.

I hate scrambler for the same reason others have mentioned, it tips off enemies that you are nearby. I almost always kill the scrambler user when I see my rader go out without a counter-uav going up.

I've sprinted through claymores and survived without scrambler pro on many times.

The trick to claymores is knowing where to set them. Most people put right around a corner or doorway and it's usually too close. Iput mine back further so when the enemy comes around the corner, its not right at his feet, but 5-6 feet away from them.

I play a silenced class and its awesome my setup is this

Primary UMP .45
Silencer

Seconday
Stinger

Marathon Pro
Cold Blooded Pro
Ninja Pro or Commando Pro

Semtex Flash Grenades

My full stealth class is :
ACR silencer + reddot
1887 akimbo
semtex/stun
bling/cold blood/ninja

for normal play which is sorta stealth..
m4a1 reddot
stinger
semtex/stun
scav or soh/cold blood/ninja

kill streaks are - Care pakage/harrier/ac130

probably gonna prestige tonight if i get a few more S&D matches in.

Whats everyones "doing work" class or their bread and butter class that they seem to do well with. Mine is the m4a1 class listed above.

bread's done
