damn so WAY OF THE SAMURAI 2 is super rare? I'll do a trade if anyone is not planning to keep it or glad to buy if off someone. I doubt they will do a reprint of it also unlike way of the samurai 1 which was released again new for 20 bucks.
 
After Hitting Circuit City I hit the COMPUSA in Utica michigan (next to BestBuy) and they had JACK SQUAT. They had maybe less than a dozen games which were marked as "Managers Specials" I saw PSI-OPS and RE Outbreak file #2 for 9.99 (PSIOPS is 3.96 at CC) so it blew. I did see Mark of the Kri II for 9.99 at Bestbuy Next door.:roll:
 
Well, I went to the only CompUSA in Indy...they had a table of clearance games but they were mostly crap sports titles. Everything was marked at $9.99 and up. The game I bought (Future Tactics) rang up at the proper price, lower than it was marked. They are also offering buy 1 get 1 half off on the clearance table games. Wish I could have found another $6 game to grab for $3 but there really wasn't anything I wanted, even at that price.

What sucks is that they did have a lot of good games like Time Splitters, TS II, etc. that I would have got, but they had manager special stickers over the UPCs and were ringing up $15.00. There were also a lot of manager special games that weren't on the list but were probably unique to that store. Some were okay deals, like Zoocube for $9.95.

CompUSA in Pembroke Pines, FL had a clearance bin in the front of the store where the games were buy 2 get 1 free. The selection was poor and the prices were all over the place.

I managed (all for XBox):

Star Wars KOTOR 2 - $24.98
Arx Fatalis- $14.98
Armed and Dangerous- free (would have been only $9.98)

It's a bummer that I only received a ten dollar game for free, but there was either nothing else worthwhile, I already had it, or it was too expensive ($30-$50 games do not define "clearance") I guess I can't complain too much because each title averages to $13.33 and none of them are common anymore.

BAH! - total bust for me, my local CompUSA (Arlington, TX) had plenty of the titles on the OP but none of them at the prices quoted. Many of the titles were still regualr priced even after price scans..
 
First off, great post.

Wish I had seen this before I was out as I was just at a Comp USA today. But they were really bare bones, not very many games other than new releases and I didn't see any bargain bins which I always look for. I did find a couple things last week at different Comp USA's on clearance. Each Comp USA I've been to after Christmas has different random items marked down with the "Manager's Special" tag on them. I got The Getaway Black Monday for $10 and the DVD boxed set of the first season of Kids in the Hall for $20 (4 discs!). Also had boxed sets of 24, X Files and a few other TV shows for $20 or 50% off each, but I'm not really into either of those shows. That was at the Portland, OR Comp USA near the airport if any one cares. I'm guessing they're probably gone by now anyways as that was over a week ago.

Must have had the new UPC stickers over the actual UPCs like other people are reporting. That's the only reason I can think of that they wouldn't be ringing up on sale since these prices seem to be universal across several states.
 
My CompUSA sucks. The prices are more than what quoted but I gave up and bought these games:

Way of the Samurai 2 (PS2): 19.98
Ghost hunter (PS2): 12.98
Fatal Frame 2 (PS2): 19.98

Is Fatal Frame 2 for PS2 rare? I'd keep it for trading if it is. Otherwise, I just take it back since I already have it.
 
I stopped by the Novi, MI store, but didn't notice anything too spectacular. FFT:A for the GBA was priced $33.99 and rang up at $32.98. :roll:


Nothing really jumped out at me (I was just looking at only PS2 and GBA suff). I did see a PS1 Tomb Raider 3 for under $2...but didn't have cash on me.
(EDIT: read as, I didn't want to use my card on something that cheap.)

One thing I did notice was the manager speial for Time Crisis with the Gun Con for $25. I wasn't sure if anyone was looking for that (or if it was a good deal), but the Novi store has two left - I may go back and pick on up.
 
I went to the local CompUSA in Mission Viejo, CA. I've been meaning to go for days, but I almost never find anything there, anyway.

Nothing of interest, and terrible selection of games. I had a small list of games I was interested in, and they had none of them.

While looking, I came across XBOX Mercedes Benz World Race. My son likes car games, and it had no price or tag. Rang up as $1.98, so I took it.
 
I also went to the CompUSA in Novi, and I agree, absolutley nothing there. I grabbed 3 Jampack games just so it wouldn't be a wasted trip.
 
Struck out in Akron, Ohio. They had some decent titles but nothing I needed or worth trading. They were also an additional 25% off. If I was smarter, i would have picked up the .98 jampacks just for some spare cases

To answer some questions (I called the manager who gave me the list).

1. This is not a sale, its is a price reduction.... prices will stay or go lower until they run out.

2. This is company wide, if they scan the UPC if should be the price on the list unless the store manually went back and raised them and that is a pain.

3. Stores do not cross ship to each other for something like this due to the cost of it and most stores will not do mail order over the phone due to fraud issues.

4. Some store will cover the UPC code, if you are told a price higher than the list tell them your cousin in a different city got it for such and such a price; ask them to scan the UPC. If they did not change the price before hand it should be the price on the list. Pick a city with multiple stores, miami, Atlanta, houston, Dallas, LA, NY, SF, Chicago, etc. to say your cousin got it in.

5. Some store may hide this stuff as not to take the hit, he said one store still had three N64 systems late last year.... brand new in the box.​
 
the Comp USA in my area had all of their older/clearance titles in two big bins near the registers. didn't see much of interest, most of the stuff like Ghosthunter was still ringing up at marked price (14.99 as opposed to people getting it less). all the stuff behind their glass casings seem to be new and or recent stuff now.

Eternal Darkness, Breakdown, Shenmue II, pikmin and each game is no more then $10 NEW! Thoes are some damn fine deals, both for xbox and Gamecube. Sure not all of the games are good but you gotta look for the gems.

So anyways, I finally got to a Comp USA today and they had a rack of games with a binder that had the list inside with a big sign that says "3 Games for $29.99, Green Dot Only". So I asked one of the clerks about it as I picked out a few that were on the rack (and the list here for $9.98), but some did not have a green dot tag. He told me that you HAVE to buy 3 games to get the $29.99 price otherwise they are regular price, can't get like 1 for $9.99, 2 for $19.99, etc., also games that do not have the green dot sticker were not discounted and are regular price, even if they are listed in the binder. He said if it doesn't have the green dot tag, there is no discount and that people like to put things where they're not supposed to go. So anyways, I put everything back and just left.

Killer 7 for PS2 was one of the notable Green Dot games.

I went to the Rosedale location Friday night and pratically had to BEG an employee just to freakin price check a few games. I only grabbed "Tron 2.0" for $9.00 after finally getting a few games checked (passed on "Kingdom Hearts" for GBA as $29 is NOT a clearance price).
 
Well.... the compusa in Gaithersburg maryland was horrible. It seems they are got rid of all xbox and PS2 games BUT they didnt put any of them on sale (they probably just moved them to a new store.) There was a HUGE bargain bin with a whole lotta crap. I spent 20 mins looking through the damn bin and probably only got through 2/3s, its was just too many games and they kept on falling out. Some of the deals werent even deals (alot of old games just dropped to $30). Anyone in my area should just pass this store.

Got .Hack 2 for $10 (completing the series for me. Got them all for $10 a piece!)

There was one copy of Robot Alchemic Drive (R.A.D.) in the value bin, which rings up for $20. The bin is to the left of the registers when you walk in.
 
I hit the Sugarland, TX Compusa tonight. They had two clearance bins last weekend, but only one this weekend. I knew I should have went out there when this deal hit CAG, because there were still a bucnh of games from the clearance list. The best I could do tonight was Jampack Winter 2003 for 88 cents. Oh well, better than nothing I guess!
 
I hit 4 CompUSA's in the DFW metro area Saturday (gave up after that) - shouldn't have wasted my time. Not one of the titles on the OP rang up at the price quoted - not one! Kinda pissed right now. Won't be shopping at CompUSA for a long time now.

The Amazon prices are insane. I just checked eBay completed auctions, and you can get complete used copies there for $20-30. Who would pay $100+ just for a sealed copy?

Did you have them scan the UPC? Many will have stickers on them with hand written prices, scanning them should give the current price unless the store manually changed it in their system. They can also do a price override I just found out where they enter the price on the sticker and then scan the UPC; so you need to tell them it was cheaper when you called and give them the price on the list.
 
A little over a week ago I picked up a few games that weren't on the list:

Virtua Striker 2002 (GC) - $4.98
F1 2002 (GC) - $9.98
Brute Force (XB) - $4.98
 
Went to 1 yesterday for their 1 day Extra 10% Clearance sale. (I got the note from email, hope somebody posted it for CAG!) Got $15 worth of games, saved $1.50. Well at least I saved something. Some notables I saw were Champions Return to Norrath and Killer 7 on a 3 for $30 rack, but I think not all CUSA's have a rack like that.
 
A lot of awful prices.. Prince of Persia: SoT on XB for $18 or $19? Hell, this was like $6 at TRU last year.. CSI for $18.98? A whole dollar off? Huge clearance! Thanks for the list, though.. the only thing I think I would be interested in is Terminator 3: Redemption for $6.xx.
