Congestion Remedies?

Hi, I play for a premier soccer team in Rhode Island, and I have a showcase tournament in New Jersey this weekend. However, I have a congested nose and a sore throat. I think I may be coming down with a cold, so I was wondering if anyone had any remedies for this?

I've heard of one involving honey, sugar, water, and carrots, but I lack the honey portion of it.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

For a congested nose I chew on any gum or mints that are high in peppermint. Opens me right up. Altoids are good for that.

Put some Vicks Vaporub on your chest and a little dab right under your nose.

Don't know if they have the "Taco Trucks" in your area like they do in mine, but some of those spicy, little tacos they sell really seem to decongest me when I'm sick. I took a friend who hadn't breathed properly in days to get spicy tacos once and he said he felt better than he had in a week after eating them!

vitamin C, plenty of sleep, hot lemonade, and for the nose get a saline dropper and put a couple drops in each nostril

Drixorol. Seriously. It will knock that shit out cold. Just be sure not to take it too close to your game as it will make you drowsy.
