Holy shit, I'm moving to Tokyo in three weeks!
There's no way I can bring all my stuff with me, so one lucky CAG is going to win 30+ games and a bunch of shwag (E3, TGS, etc.).

Simply post in this thread for a chance to win.
You must post something about Japan, winning my games, or what you would like to see me do (for your amusement) once I am living in Tokyo.

You may post as often as you wish, but that WILL NOT increase your chance of winning. One account/entry per person. You must be over 18 (or have your parents permission upon winning to receive M rated games) and in the continental US to be eligible to win. Winner will be chosen at random. Contest ends on or about 10/24/05.

Why am I moving to Japan?
Mrs. CheapyD got a great job and it requires us to move to Tokyo. Its basically an offer we can't refuse. I will still be able to run CAG from Japan and now I will be able to work on CAG full time. You can also likely expect new additions/features and possibly a new CAG sister website as I become Your Man In Japan.
Fear not! The focus of CAG will always be cheap video games.

Japan has always fascinated me. Their history, technology, large cities, tremedous drive to work harder, natural hot springs. When I think of Japan, I think of a bustling city such as a Tokyo, but then I remember what lies outside of that; beautiful temples, gardens, shrines, castles, and more. Japan can be so inspiring. I wish I could go.

I hope you have a safe journey and enjoy your time over there. I hear Tokyo can be very expensive and crowded, but being the head CAG, I'm sure you'll find a way to get the most bang-out-of-your-yen. I'm sure that last line will spark some interesting comments.

Will it be like that Geico commercial where they parody a reality show of living in a tiny house? Can you even fit into one of those Japanese inn cubicle things?

Congrats, man. I'd like CheapyD to use his time in Japan to evaluate whether or not that country constitutes gaming heaven or gaming perdition as opposed to these United States.

I'd also like to know how CheapyD convinced Mrs. CheapyD to let him be the full-time curator of a website devoted to cheap games. (You lucky dog, you.)

Well I'm jealous :(.

While you're there, go to Gamer's Vision (Not even sure if that's in Tokyo, but it is in Japan. Surely you can find it!) and own up the regulars in 3rd Strike.

You can do it.

Or not.

I would love to see Cheapy dress up like Godzilla and run rampant through downtown Tokyo and hear all of the towns people scream "OH NO IT'S CHEAPY D" that would be awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would like you to have a brief but meaningful relationship with a much younger American female, while her photographer boyfriend is away on business.

i think it would be great if now that i am unemployed i could win these games. so that i could have something to do.
your friend,
kevin

I've never been to Japan, but when I go, I'll be sure to ask for your advice as to where the best (and cheapest) games are to be found. Good luck CheapyD!

I would like to see you dress up as Colonel Sanders (the KFC dude for those that don't know) go to one of the vending machines that sell panties, buy a pair, place them on your head, yell "ULTIMATE POWER" then fight someone who is wearing a monster costume. Hopefully someone you know, but random strangers should be ok.

That, or buy and wear one of those shirts that have random lyrics from songs that are in English, like the one from engrish.com that says "I hate myself and I want to die" with the rainbow and hearts on it.

Or you could just stand outside a porn shop and take a picture, all in good humor.

Have fun over there though, and don't forget to brag about getting to play some games before it's released elsewhere.

Thats a nice set of games, I barely have any of them. Anyway, hope you have a great time in Japan. Hope you find lots of good deals and play all the imports you want to (as well as, you know, enjoying the culture).

I would like to see Cheapy in a Charlie Chaplin-esque short film. In Tokyo. Involving a magic lint roller...and a killer GBA cartridge.

While you're in Japan, would you mind sending me back the full Taiko arcade game? The drums I have keep skidding around the table.

I'd like to here about all of the cool gaming crap they have there and the stuff that is really weird too. So post it!! Plus, i wanna win your stuff.

Here's hoping you find time to take pictures of cutie-pie Japanese girls and post them up here.

And here's my entry.

Hey Cheapy,

First congrats on your move to Japan with Mrs Cheapy! I saw some of your pictures before that relate to where you'd be living such as the heated floors, toilets, etc, Japan really seems to be electronical when it comes to living, I could go for it!

Japan seems like they get tons more things than we do first also (video game related), which will probably be awesome for you. So a couple things I'd like you to do which is simple is keep us updated on what's going on. I enjoyed seeing (pictures) and hearing (reading) about all of the interesting things that are in Japan. This includes video game relation, and your life related which I know you will.

Ok about winning your games, I would love to win them and brag about how I own something that was previously yours! It'd probably double the value! :) But I think it would be awesome to have some more games, video games are a big part of my life, and the more the better I say. Also I see some E3 stuff that would rock! Going to E3 one day would be the best thing of course, but to have some stuff from it would also rock!

But for my amusement, I'd love to see you go and just try talking in ENGLISH to some Japanese people, just random coversations. Their re-actions are always great! Oh also post any new features in your house or anywhere else that we don't have here that's awesome!

But anyways one least thing is keep Mrs Cheapy happy and have fun in Japan!

I don't know how you are going to find anything to write about in Japan as there ar no good games made or sold there. ;)

good luck.

Wow, that's a really generous prize package! If I won, I would sell all the prize contents and pass along the full earnings to Cheapy. It's the least I could do for having received so many great gaming deals through this site. Or maybe I'm a complete liar...

CheapyD, you should go visit the curry museum in Yokohama sometime after your settled in and get a chance to take a break. I believe there is a ramen museum somewhere around there as well.

Sweet contest Cheapy, very nice of you to give away so much stuff!

What should you do in Japan hmmm, maybe some Hitman cosplay  Shouldn't be that hard... :D

You must dress as a panda, and then rampage among the children, frightening them with mangled japenglish. Then you will curl up into a ball and fall asleep in a very small space, chewing haphazardly on a stick of bamboo.

I'd like to see CheapyD in one of those wacky Japanese variety shows, doing his cheapass thing. Maybe even be a recurring character in one of them!

Great selection of games I'm hoping I can win so it will give me something to do until exams roll around in December. I would like to see Cheapy D enter some street races in Japan....with the biggest SUV they have!!

I'd like to enter the contest! Thanks Cheapy D.

As far as Amusement: I think it's great that your moving to japan. It be cool if you did some articles on how Gaming is over there as it is compared to in America. What are the hot videogame related trends and Stuff. Since your going soon, I'd like to see some pictures of you visiting that new Xbox 360 Store they are building and to get your opinion of it. Definitely like to see some reports on the various game conventions they have, ie TGS, or the Sony, Nintendo, MS sponsored events etc... And possibly hook up with an import company out there to get us some Cheap Ass Imports!!!! :)

Best of Luck to you and your family! I'm glad you'll still be running our favorite website!! Full-time Now!!!!

hmmm while you're in japan, could you please ask squaresoft whats taking so long in releasing final fantasy 12.....geez..thanks in advance

Thats cool CheapyD!!! Good luck over there! My 7th greade english teacher (back in the day) married a Japanese woman and moved out of the country like a year after he tought me. Funny guy.
Again- good luck!
