Holy shit, I'm moving to Tokyo in three weeks!
There's no way I can bring all my stuff with me, so one lucky CAG is going to win 30+ games and a bunch of shwag (E3, TGS, etc.).

Simply post in this thread for a chance to win.
You must post something about Japan, winning my games, or what you would like to see me do (for your amusement) once I am living in Tokyo.

You may post as often as you wish, but that WILL NOT increase your chance of winning. One account/entry per person. You must be over 18 (or have your parents permission upon winning to receive M rated games) and in the continental US to be eligible to win. Winner will be chosen at random. Contest ends on or about 10/24/05.

Why am I moving to Japan?
Mrs. CheapyD got a great job and it requires us to move to Tokyo. Its basically an offer we can't refuse. I will still be able to run CAG from Japan and now I will be able to work on CAG full time. You can also likely expect new additions/features and possibly a new CAG sister website as I become Your Man In Japan.
Fear not! The focus of CAG will always be cheap video games.

Freakin sweet!

I would build a shrine to you if I win some games, and I would love to see you streak through a japanese teletubby(ish) japanese kids store.

well, if we are suppose to post about something about Japan, such as something we'd like you to do in Japan, I'd like you to find a Neo Geo AES complete in box and all that and send it to me for free.... :)

Its gonna be difficult trying to find cheap games in Japan. You'll probably have to 'teach English' there to earn some side money.

I want to see more pictures of Cheapy posing with toilets (which had to have been mentioned several times in this thread).

Living in Japan is going to be awesome, I'm sure. I'd very much like to live there someday. And.. well.. you'll get to play a good bit of games sooner than most of us do, soooo.. :) At least, those of us who don't import, hehehe.

Plz, cosplay every week and take lots of pictures!

Oh and i'm not exactly sure about how those used panties vending machines(hopefully like a newspaper box) work, but you should replace some of those size 3 pantsu(panties in japanese) with some plus size ones from walmart or something.

Cheapy D Is A Sexy Beast ^_^

Oh, and be careful in Japan, the streets are filled with crazy Demons and Runaway Mecha... least, I think that they are...

I would like to see exclusive coverage of the PS3 launch from Japan.
And, I would like to see exclusive coverage of all the Japanese porn games.

I have a great idea. You could start up a new indie game publishing house and get a lot more of the interesting and cool Japan only games over to the US. Your label could be "Cheap Games".

...it could happen.

Honestly though all the best in Japan to you and the Mrs. and it is good to know you will still be running the site and part of our lives

For your next contest you should buy a crapload of those capsule toys, and maybe some panties from the pantie vending machines.

Japan is quite possibly the greatest place for a gamer to be. A mecca, if you will.
Free video games are always nice, especially since we're on the CAG boards.
Have fun in Japan, and have fun getting all the new games before us.

I hope you love living in Japan! Thanks for the website and all the positive things that happen because of this site. Thanks again,

A video tour of a Japanese "massage": house. Mrs. cheapy, of course, wouldn't like this too well, though.

If you can't pull that off, Mr. Cheapy, just give us a lot of reviews (with pics) of Japaenese titles that havn't yet or won't ship to the states.

BTW, how are you and Wambat gonna do the podcast, with the time zones and all. Either someone has to get up mad early or pick up insomnia as a hobby.

Count me in CheapyD, I'd love to win your stuff!

Also, good luck in Japan I look forward to the new stuff you have planned for the site.

I was hoping for some better coverage from Japan, deals there that we could import, etc.

How about a weekly contest with an extremely cheap game or item there thats somewhat wanted here? Winner could pay for shipping.

Maybe you should autograph that Winning Eleven jersey.

I would both love to enter this contest (enter me please) and love to win those nintendo buttons...... and those games too... i guess.

I hope Tokyo is rockin'.

Well, the first thing that I leaned in Japan was to not get accidently sealed into a bathroom in the airport. It is easier than it sounds, and I can't highly recommend it.

seeing as how my name is Jesus and I have been to Japan, let me offer you some advice, do not take the trains during rush hour! I thought NYC was bad...all I got to say is WOW...have fun be safe & good luck...oh yeah, give the prize to Jesus man! :D

Hello Mr. D.

(sorry if something similar has already been posted, I didn't read through all the posts.)

>You must post something about Japan

Japan is a country! Yee-hooo!

>winning my games,

I want to win your games!

>or what you would like to see me do (for your amusement) once I am living in Tokyo.

When you get to Japan, I would like to see you buy me a bunch of neat Japanese stuff and mail it to me along with your games - all for free, of course! (I'm greedy!). To save money on shipping, however, you can mail me the stuff from here first, the mail the stuff from Japan second. Let me know if you want the list of stuff I want you to buy me!

(Hey, I'm honest, does that count?)

Take more pictures like this

And get some hands on time with all the crazy Japanese games for future CAGCasts.

That, and enjoy Microsoft sucking up to Japanese gamers.

Hey bro, thats pretty awesome your moving to Tokyo. I've never been there, so you should take some pictures and post them up here. That would be pretty sweet.

Also, you should check out all the gaming stores you can.... You can do it lol.

(Anyway, i'm aware I have little chance of winning.. but I posted to wish you guys good luck over in Tokyo!!)

Cya

When you are in Japan you should go to the Tokyo Game Show (if possible) when it comes around again , and meet Shigeru Miyamoto , and infiltrate Nintendo's Headquarters....

There's some good games in this mix. I really want to win and play Beyond Good and Evil or the Shadow of Colossus demo. Awesome games.

When your living in Japan I would love for you to be able to send me Demos of the latest Nintendo DS games and videogame music albums.

Have a great time in Japan!

~Scott~

I can't believe how large this thread is already. Ridiculous.

Anyway, I'd like to see you cook and eat mochi. I bought some at a fun and gigantic foodstore in my area and have no idea what to do with it. It's basically sticky rice mashed into a solid object with water added. And the crap is sticky. Very sticky. It would be awesome if you could share some recipees or something. I've tried a few things and failed miserably. I want authenticity (and good flavor) with my Japanese frozen delight.

So buy mochi, cook mochi, teach me how to mochi. Mochi?

Wowzers man. I'd love to move to Japan. All those Japanese lasses and crazy vending machines. Speaking of vending machines, you should totally hunt down for one that vends "used" schoolgirl panties! Those silly Japs. Well, you gotta love 'em! Have a blast man.
bizarrex

A panty theif's dream. Could be your's too but i wouldn't know. If it is, you can thank me later.

I think you should have a weekly cheapyD explore Japan feature., where you tell us interesting things about your stay in Japan. Oh and enjoy the food, i'm a little jealous.

Long time reader, and I figure, hey, I want CheapyD's games, so I'm replying. Japan rocks and I wish that I could at least visit there. I'd also like a copy of Ninja Gaiden because the spine of Black sucks hard. I want to play that Shadow of Colossus demo, too, and that MGS brouchure would be groovy as well. Rock rock on!

CheapyD,
Sorry to hear you're leaving the best city in the world :(. I always would hope that we'd run into each other and be devils together!

For my amusement, I want you to find a BestBuy in Japan so that you can be their first "oni customer." But you must do it in full otaku cosplay.

Once Cheapy D is living in Japan, I'd like to see him rub the Buddha's belly and eat sushi galore. I would love to win those games. Thanks.

You should go to the natural hot springs they have. They're located on the northern island of Hokkaido. The island hosts much of Japan's beautiful natural scenery. Check out Kamui Wakka Falls where a hiking trail leads to some natural hot springs. Jump in and take a dip!
